The sound quality was good. However my larger room needs a 10". Good power for moderate sized spaces.

I am using mtx speakers all the way around with yamaha rx-a1070 receiver and was trying to find that perfect subwoofer and I can say that this was it. Sub sounds amazing and Shakes the floor during the dramatic scenes. Definitely a must have for someone wanting that perfect bass.

Purchased this sub for my home theater consisting of a 5.1 in wall speaker set and a Marantz receiver. This sub produces extremely clean bass and the power is exceptional. You can rock your house with this sub if that is your desire. The quality is instantly noticeable. Look no further.

If you've ever wanted that movie theater bass sound - this is the subwoofer for you! Simple set up and you don't need the fancy cables either - regular subwoofer cables work just fine. Love the volume control on the side of the unit too! Place it in a corner and sit back and feel the bass!

I couldn't be more pleased with my Definitive Technology - Prosub 800 8 300-watt Powered Subwoofer! This my second one, recently added to a third sound system in my home. This cost-effective sub sounds like much larger subwoofers and meets all of my needs for a living room TV sound system. It produces clean and accurate bass and makes the room and TV sound come alive!

My first sub woofer, and it has had me asking myself why I did not purchase one sooner! It will rattle the walls in my man cave (11' x 17')! I plan on purchasing a 12" version for inside the house very soon!

I bought this because of the frequency response, it hasn’t disappointed. I do wish I could control it with a remote but not a deal killer considering the sound quality. Thus far very happy and the 8” woofer packs more punch than much larger subwoofers. Highly recommended.

Love the adjustable volume on the side and for the price it was exactly what I was looking for.

good bass and compact size, Definitive Technology is a great product

Though we had surround in our previous home, we had never added a sub-woofer because we favor jazz and classical music. This sub-woofer is fabulous with our music, as well as enhancing TV dramas and movies. Really sorry we didn't get one sooner; very happy our Best Buy consultant steered us to this one. .

The 800s construction is good, although it jumps across wooden floors and rattles during movies with tremendous bass. I had this sub for years, upgraded to two prosubs (not worth the money), and am happier now with one of DefTech's Super Cube 6000. With the Prosub 800 music is enriched and it is very loud. With the SC6000 at double the price, Godzilla's roar punches you in the chest and wows my guests.
