I purchased this sound bar as an open box item from Magnolia without any cables or remote. Definitive Technology provided all necessary cables/remote free of charge and advised on how I could upgrade the firmware. Unfortunately, like others have referenced, I couldn't get my unit to update. I called DT and they warranties the entire system and sent me a brand new working system that has been going strong for several months. I'm extremely pleased as the price I paid was nothing compared to the sound quality I now have. Additionally, DT offers a 3 year warranty if anything goes bad.

Definitive Technology- Solo Cinema Studio, is a fantastic sound bar, just the best of its kind. I been though a few sound systems, and sound bars. No one is in Definitive Technology space of remarkable products. Solo Cinema Studio, is the best in its category. Not only the product, they truly have the best Customer Service and Tech Support , I have ever encountered. I had the pleasure of dealing with them first hand, telephonically and I will tell you, THEY TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS. behind the remarkable product is a stupendous, Impeccable company. Sebastian D.

I did a lot of research when it came to soundbars. I really liked the Bose Soundbar, but due to costs, I tried to find something that was great in sound without the $1500 price. In came this Definitive soundbar. It sounds great, and though it is still not the Bose, It is equal to it as I got this as an open box buy for $800. Great product. It retails for $1200. After listening to movies, and music, it is a great product!

I have installed many sound bars for family , all of them I hated the sound was high not clear lacked bass for sure. I bought this at a killer price to try out and to say the least I was shocked at the clarity of the audio and the power of the little subwoofer that comes with it. Great product again my def tech!

Overall, this is a well-manufactured soundbar. Setup was straight-forward and uncomplicated. Excellent sound and the Bluetooth connection was seamless. The only aspect that would have enhanced this product for me would have been to have more control over the sound settings. A manipulable equalizer would have been nice. I'm using the soundbar with a Samsung 60inch 3-D Smart TV, an iPhone, an iPod Touch, and an Google Nexus phone.

I was looking to replace my larger surround system due to limited space in my new apartment, when I came across this set from Definitive. Having poor experiences with sound bars in the past, I was a bit skeptical that this could provide the level of sound I was looking for. After finding a great open box price on it though, I decided to give it a shot and was glad I did. The unit connected beautifully, sounds great, and is extremely well constructed.

Love it! Great sound quality! I would buy another one if this one ever breaks.

Great but great customer support from the manufacturer

I'm happy w the soundbar. I watch a lot of movies and have a lot of parties. I use the soundbar for both. Fills up a room. It has easy bluetooth ability. Only downside is the price.

I am a Elite plus member, I purchase an abundant amount off product from Best Buy, I been through a few Sound bars, but I have to say The Definitive technology Solo Cinema is the best, sound quality next to none. Excellent sound bar! Great sound does exactly what I was hoping for by creating a 5.1 surround without all of the extra wires and speakers. The pro logic setting pops up on the tv screen when the channel changes and sometimes even picks it up on commercials. Not that this is bad though, I like the fact this bar is smart enough to automatically adjust. Overall it's a great item!

We love the ease of installation and sound it produces.

We purchased this through recommendation of sales clerk. None were on store floor to listen to or see. This should have been our first clue. Max volume is low with poor output and poor sound quality. Returned to store. Very expensive with very poor sound.

Although made for a small TV, the mount is too bulky looking.

Due to reliability issues, I highly recommend spending the extra cash to buy the W model from DT. Other than that the sound is amazing for a soundbar. I had a Polk theater system and although this isn't exactly a direct substitute for a true theater system, this does come sonically pretty close. I like the fact that you can still adjust the center channel sound as well as other basic sound functions. There is however a slight delay in starting sound coming from the bar, about 1 to 2 seconds when you play anything. I'm using all HDMI input/throughput,/outputs.

We bought this sound bar and subwoofer almost a year ago. When it's working its great- clear sound and the ability to control the bass when needed which was one of its selling points; but more times than not the wireless subwoofer is offline. We have had it back to Best Buy 4 times and it's going back again tomorrow because the subwoofer will not pair up. It would go back a lot more but I have to undo everything and cart it to the store because it cannot be fixed in the home. And I mean everything --- remote cables sound bar and subwoofer. Then when it comes back I have to reinstall it. So that home installation fee we paid at the beginning did not work out and the Geek Squad does not come and take it in for repairs - that's on us. Each time Best Buy sends it away and it comes back working. It is extremely frustrating and the subwoofer looks like it's years old because of the damage caused each time Best Buy sends it away. The last visit the tech put it in a cart and it got stuck and it took little chunks out of the sides to get it out of the cart. We need HELP getting this resolved. I love shopping at Best Buy but thus one purchase makes me think twice when I need an electronic.

I purchased this to replace an 8-yr old Yamaha YAS-70 sound bar. The Yamaha did a fantastic job of emulating surround sound but due to some renovation work I needed a system with a wireless subwoofer. The Definitive Solo Cinema provided the quality and style that I was looking for. Setup was very easy: plug my 3 HDMI input into the bar (cable box, AppleTV, and blu-ray), run the HMDI output to the TV, connect the power and mount to the wall. The surround sound emulation is fantastic.

Had this for less than 1 month and this morning it started cycling through its inputs and powering itself off. Deducted 2 stars from rating because of this failure and given the price of this sound bar. Waiting for support response from the company. When it was working, my wife and I were very pleased with the sound quality. The physical construction/build quality otherwise seems solid. Would have easily been a 5 star product without the failure. I'm torn on recommending the product, due to considerations mentioned above, interval of ownership before failure and price, my initial reaction is no. If the company can help me resolve my issue quickly, then I would happily recommend this.
