Anyone looking to be entertained, while getting plenty of work done for school, this is the laptop for you.

Fast & small, could fit in my purse. I take it everywhere with me.

I have been using a 17" Sony VAIO i7 for work for about a year. I needed something more compact, better battery life, lighter and more durable, but still with a HD 1920x1080 display. I looked again at Sony but anything with a numeric keypad was over $1,200. I purchased the Dell Inspiron 7537 and have been using it constantly for just over 2 weeks. As a professional software engineer and multi-media editor/producer I can't say enough about this machine. It looks beautiful and performs flawlessly. Boot time is extremely fast and wake time is under 2 seconds. Even though I use very high-end software that requires a lot of processing power, the Dell 7537 performs flawlessly. The battery lasts over 6 hours with my display set to full brightness and the power option set to High Performance. Even when in turbo mode, I have not heard the cooling fan once - this thing is absolutely silent! There is no DVD drive included, however, I received a discount on a portable LG DVD writer #discounted price $34# with the laptop purchase. I use a 2nd Dell 24" display when I'm sitting at my desk. The HDMI connection is perfect and sound quality with the 5.1 speaker system is amazing. I use Internet Explorer as my default web browser and one of the very useful features with the dual-monitor setup is that when I browse a web page on my laptop IE automatically sets the magnification to 125%. When I drag the browser to my 24" monitor, the magnification automatically switches to 100%. Compared to every other computer I've ever owned, this laptop out-performs every one of them. If all you use your computer for is browsing the web, email and office software I would suggest looking at a less expensive Inspiron with an i5 processor. At $879, the Dell Inspiron i7537 is an outstanding bargain and I highly recommend this model to any power user, gamer or anyone who plans on keeping this around for the next few years.

Doesn't have a CD ROM. Didn't realize this til after we purchased.

I love computer, its easy to use and fast.,I do my banking on it and keep in touch with people.

Enjoy it immensely. Love the bells and whistles. The learning curve has not been too bad.

I love this laptop. It's heavy and I'm just getting used to the keyboard with the 10-key on the right, but otherwise I love it!

It works well for school work with a hard drive big enough for all of my course work plus other interests.

Purchased for use on the road / travel. Very happy with the purchase. Dell has not let us down yet.
