I didn't think I would like a laptop; however, this one has changed my mind.

When the first wave of Haswell based laptops were announced, I did a lot of research before I've chosen Dell Inspiron 7000. I needed a modern, well designed laptop that would be durable, would come with a touchscreen and a high resolution display (I think those 1366px displays are ugly on 15.6" screens), and would be powerful enough to handle the software that I use (I'm a software engineer, so Visual Studio, SQL Server are being heavily used). I ordered the laptop online for store pickup and got the unit in a week. The first unit had a tiny group of defective pixels right in the center of the screen (which were always white). After talking to the customer support operator, I returned to the store and asked for a replacement. So PLEASE CHECK YOUR UNIT THOROUGHLY to make sure there are no defects. The second unit was great and didn't have any noticeable problems. Hardware scanning software didn't reveal anything either, so I decided to keep it. I've been using it for a week now, and I'm really delighted with every aspect of this laptop. The build quality is very sturdy with a premium quality finish you would expect from the likes of Macbook Pro or much more expensive windows laptops. The display is very bright and beautiful, with the touchscreen working exceptionally well. Even though it does not include any SSD cache or hybrid hard drive, the system boots really quickly and after upgrading to Windows 8.1, it started working even better. The battery lasts 6 - 7 hours with slightly dimmed display. The only concern I have so far is that the WiFi antenna may be not that good compared to my old, bulky Lenovo ThinkPad. When you are far from the router, it would sometimes drop the connection, or refuse to see the hotspot. But that's not critical for me, because my working desk is close to the router and the connection is good there. Overall it is an unbeatable bargain for $930 (incl. taxes), I don't see any reason to buy more expensive laptops if you look for quality and performance and you can live without discreet graphics and super ultra slim laptops...

This is a great PC. It is very fast and fucntional.

It is a great laptop from Dell with pretty design. I think this is the best if it has 6 cells battery with an 128 GB SSD or at least Hybrid Hard Drive. The price is a bit high. It is good if the price $799.00 with a Hybrid Hard Drive. This laptop takes more than 1 minutes to boot up because of HDD. Then I upgraded to 128 SSD, it just takes 8 seconds to boot up and 7 second to shut down with Windows 8.1. The sound is just okay. The touch is okay if comparing with iPad. The 4 cells battery is last more than 7 hour with regular using. I think it's best with 6 cells battery (10 hours). The full HD screen is just okay if comparing with Sony full HD laptop. The 8 GB RAM is enough for regular user. I am so up set about the description from Bestbuy because they did not say that this laptop able to upgrade to 16 GB RAM or not. I did not test on camera. The keyboard is not smoothly as Sony or Apple. The memory reader is not fine. You have to use an adapter for memory stick SD. Last one is do not stick any sticker on laptop.

I had to call dell to let then know that my new computer was cutting off by itself and when it did come on I had only touch screen ability.i had to do a hard shut off the dell rep called it ,and it worked great for about 28 hour than it happen again

This laptop has high configuration (faster processor, high RAM, 1 TB storage), FULL HD display (best for watching movies) and a nice silver metallic body. All this for an affordable price. CD/DVD drive is not there but that's acceptable as nowadays very few companies provide to make laptop more compact. This laptop looks very nice and worth its value for money.
