Very nice laptop...I am having trouble getting use to the new settings compared to my old Dell...but I am sure once I get the hang of this it will be as great as my old Dell. Only thing I am not fond of is where the speaker is - it is hard to hear at times

The weight is the only negative thing I could say, but it was clearly posted in the specs anyway. It's only heavy because it's build well and tough, yet surprisingly slim. After more than a month, it still boots up super fast and everything seems to be running smoothly. The HD monitor is amazing, and the touch features respond well. I did have some issues with the wifi connection out of the box, spent about an hour on the phone with dell, but they fixed it. All in all, very content now with this purchase.

I bought two of this laptops(for my wife and my son) and they have been working perfectly. Screen resolution is good and speed and memory seems to be fine for a home user

I replaced my very old laptop because Windows XP was no longer being supported ... that was a great move for me... I love the new technology .... has made my life so much easier ... no more slow computer! It's just great!

This is my first DELL product. I was choosing between this and the ASUS 15.6 with similar features. This won out as it was on sale and had a beefy processor as well as memory to go with it. Just to preface this review.... I work a lot in Tech Support but I am also a Photographer so when I am on a job its nice if I have a machine that looks as nice as it functions. So far I am impressed, but make no mistake, while this laptop has a gorgeous design and a solid build the beauty is all on the inside. The first thing I did was uninstall McAfee. Windows 8.1 has built in anti-virus software anyways....... who needs their system resources constantly draining their batteries and slowing down the machine??? This upped the boot time to 25 seconds. I then extracted the 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and replaced it with a Samsung 470 series 128 GB Solid State Drive (SSD). This process was extremely easy. I used the Samsung Migration assistant to move the system files over to the SSD and then all that remained was to remove the original HDD and install the SSD. Once this was completed the machine booted up in 6 seconds. The machine also instantly wakes up form sleep mode. I have read a lot of reviews stating various different issues with this model laptop, but I have yet to find any of those issues present. Wi-Fi seems solid and have experienced no drops in connection what so ever. I do have some issues connecting my External WD Passport. It’s almost like the OS doesn’t see it, but it still registers the Device as being "connected". If you are planning to use Google chrome in Windows App mode you will need to go to the installation directory in windows explorer....... C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application Once there you will need to right-click the CHROME.exe and choose "Properties". This will open a new window. Click on the "Compatibility" Tab and make sure that "Disable Display Scaling on High DPI settings" is CHECKED. If this is not done Chrome will show up as a "Cropped" app with black bars on the top and bottom of the display and look terrible..... This is a windows 8 problem not a laptop problem. Other than that this laptop is SOLID. Most of my software installed without any issues. Some may bock at the lack of an optical drive, but this issue was easily overcome by copying the files from my installation media to my external device or USB drive and installing them from there. I did not think that I would find myself using the touch interface all that much as it is a laptop and not a tablet, but man it really sucked me in. I use the touchscreen all of the time now. The graphics are amazing. Very sharp and the OS is extremely fluid. I do watch a lot of video and never really had to turn up the volume. As far a laptop speakers go this thing does pretty well. It’s almost like Dell gutted a MacBook Pro and put a DELL symbol on the top plate. The battery Life out of the box was awesome, I got 4.5 hours out of it before having to plug it in, and it got better after an all nighter charge. If this is still on sale... BY IT. it’s worth every penny.

My laptop replaced a desktop a long time ago and I am always looking for functionality, ease of use, durability and good looks in any laptop that I purchase. This laptop has a great keyboard which is large enough for my long fingers and large hands. It also has enough heft to sit stable on my lap or on a hard surface. I think the battery life is the best I have experienced.

It is a great laptop, a little heavy but great features and the touch screen is easy. Just like using a smart phone.

I like the backlit keyboard. Lots of memory. Very fast! I bought this to go back to school. I am in my 40s and would recommend this laptop.

Works nicely. nice metal style finish instead of those cheap plastic finish. keyboard is good but seems times space bar not responding. Overall a very satisfying purchase.

I first bought a Toshiba Package deal. The computer felt and acted cheap. It soon died...luckily the day before the unconditional return policy ran out. The folks at Best Buy took it back, no questions. Then the sales person, nice and informed young lady, helped me make a better decision. I like my Dell Computer. It is easy to use and nice looking, too. Thanks Dell and Best Buy!

Nicely priced laptop with great features for an employee on the go. Fast, slim, lightweight. Screen is nice sized and is a touch screen, so no mouse is needed.

I am a Dell fan and this is one exceeds expectations. When I had to replace my last Dell laptop I was concerned, but this one hit the nail on the head.
