Love the touch screen, mouse pad took some getting use to. Very fast.

My new Dell Inspiron 7000 is just what I needed for my online classes. Speed, memory and ease of use, makes this perfect for returning to school.

this laptop has it all, I like the 1080p screen and mostly it does not get hot as my previous laptop.

Such a great computer has a very tough exterior as well as a very fast processor an than touch screen is nice to have as well

This laptop is a great must buy. I love the touchscreen and the lighted keyboard. It is a great screen size and has a good size memory on it. Overall if you need a new laptop try this one. It has it all and more.

Great laptop for the price, but the HDD sloghtly hinders performance. I wouldn't have minded paying a bit extra for an SSD. I use this laptop primarily for word processing and simple web browsing. It does these tasks very well and I'm sure it could handle most games, albeit at lower graphics settings. The keyboard works well, but for some reason the number pad has a different feel than the rest of the keyboard. The touchpad is iffy, though. It is placed in an area that could end up being clicked inadvertantly and the left and right clicks takes some getting used to. Other than that it is a great laptop.

I like the computer and it seems to be of quality build but still not a lover of windows operating systems.

My first Windows 8 machine and was not as difficult to use as I expected. Was disappointed in the wifi, but swapped out card with a 7360 ac and machine flies now. Screen is amazingly clear.

After several months of research, I finally purchased this Windows 8 laptop. I was looking for a laptop that met these specs: - Intel i7 4th gen processor (for performance & good battery life) - Intel 4400 or Nvidia discrete graphics - USB ports -- preferred 4 USB 3 ports, must have USB 3 ports located toward the rear of the laptop where connected cables will be out of the way of a right handed mouse user - HDMI out - min 8GB memory, optional to 16GB or or more - min 750 GB HDD (7200RPM preferred) - GigE network port - Wi-Fi (min 2x2 300Mps) - touchscreen - min 1920x1080 screen resolution - IPS panel preferred - backlit keyboard - number pad preferred - sub $1000 price - available in store preferred -- so I could see and touch Not a lot of choices in this space --- Samsung, Toshiba, and Lenovo (mail order only). Toshiba Satellite P50, which is one of the two brands I normally buy, was ruled out because USB 3 ports were directly in the way of a right handed mouse user (have this now on my Win 7 Sony Vaio and will never do it again). Then I spotted this Dell. Has only two physical i7 cores (4 virtual) -- trades off battery life against performance. This one has turbo processor mode to 2.7/2.8. Good trade off from what I have seen so far. Performance is more than adequate. Have not extensively tested battery life yet. Came with Windows 8.0, and I installed and upgraded to Windows 8.1 right away. No problems with the upgrade. Added Start8 from StarDock.com to restore the Windows 7 style Start Menu and turn off Windows 8 Metro. Driver updates from Dell Support web site are needed to resolve a couple of issues and deliver good WiFi performance. Running mine normally with GigE wired connection, second 1080p Asus monitor on HDMI, Microsoft Wireless Mouse 4000, and USB3.0 10 port hub from iDsonix with My Passport Ultra USB3 2Tb drive, Seagate FreeAgent 1.5TB USB2 drive, Sandisk USB3 Cruzer Extreme 64GB memory stick, and Samsung USB 2 DVD writer all connected via the Hub. Works like a champ. Typically seeing about 50% memory usage. Nice performance and turbo mode kicks in when needed. 5400 RPM 1TB HDD is the bottleneck, I knew this would be the case going into the purchase, and I'll eventually replace with a Samsung 840 Evo 1TB SSD when prices drop a little more. Runs nice and cool without an extra fan needed underneath. Good sound from built in speakers. Very pleased with purchase so far.

I love my Dell, it has a lot of capability for such a great price. I really like the touch screen function, because I am not great at typing . The touch screen makes it easy to navigate the screen. The large disk space makes it convenient for storing all my large game and movie files.

Overall I am happy with purchase. My one complaint so far is when it goes to sleep under my profile it does not wake up. I need to shut it down and restart it. This is not the case when running under my daughters profile. Display is good and speed seems fine. No other issues.

I love almost everything about it except the keyboard. It is hard to read the letters even though they are backlit. They are so light that I have trouble seeing them, especially if I have it at an angle. I got the larger laptop so I could use the number pad as I do input a lot of numbers. I'm also not fond of the touch pad ... so I disabled it and use a wireless mouse which works well.

First off, I brought the laptop to be able to move around easily and do my school work and I have yet to leave my house where I know I have a good network connection through my wireless connection that everything else in my house connects to but this laptop constantly has to be shut down or the hotspot has to be shut off and restarted so that I can even get on the web with my brand new laptop when my wife is sitting right next to me on her 5 year old laptop and never has issues. I haven't even taken it out and the best part is that I purchased the 3 year physical warranty but called geeksquad and they couldn't help at all and said best bet was to bring it in to have it looked at like I have hours to take a new laptop in when i'm a full time student and full time worker to see why my new laptop wont just connect to a network.

Very easy to use. A little heavy but worth it. You get a lot for the money.

Most PCs are the same if you buy them with similar software, processor, hard drive, etc. But what set this DELL a part from other PCs I was looking at was the hardware. Top of the line keyboard, solid screen, and a great design.

Convenient size, longer battery life than my last computer, seems to charge quickly. Having problems getting used to the touch screen.

The machine is a beast, the sound is great, the graphics are amazing. I use this travel with and I absolutely love it. It can do everything 10x faster than my desktop.

Overall a good machine, Windows 8 works well on the touch screen. Lots of storage with 1TB. Runs quiet. Could use a glass screen and it doesnt like to wake up after you leave it sit open. Great looking machine with the aluminum case, keyboard is a little chintzy and the beveled edge has some inconsistencies around the corners, but I notice these little details.

So far this purchase has been well worth the money...only downfall is it w as presented as laptop and sales guy did not mention it had no cd drive even though I said I would be using it for photography and editing
