  • Dell G3 Defective hinge - Design flaw

    I loved the laptop when I got it, but it felt like cheap plastic. After 14 months sitting on my desk, under normal opening and closing, the hinge snapped open. It is not fixable, Dell does not have the parts to fix it, and IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. If you do online research for "Dell G3 hinge" you will see hundreds if not thousands of people who had this same issue. It was diagnosed as a design flaw by an engineer. But Dell will not acknowledge or repair it. And I cannot believe that Best Buy still sells it. I recommend a different model or brand, because this hinge WILL break under normal opening and closing, even if it never leaves your desk.
