The Dell G3 15 is an amazing laptop to own. With a 15-inch FHD 60hz display, it truly is value for money. The keyboard has a nice click to it, along with deep and rich speakers. As a programmer, I truly love that Dell has retained a number pad. Its battery life is of 5 hours when used at 40% brightness, and minimal CPU usage. In its extreme mode, the battery life reduces to a measly 2 hours. I love the Nvidia 1660i GPU, it is performing quite well. I was able to smoothly run Assains Creed Oddessy on the device.

Purchased this last week and was impressed with the speed of both the CPU and graphics card. I did notice that the backlit keyboard has a couple of problems, at least for me. It's blue, and while that may be great for BSU fans and people using it in the dark, but it's not very bright, and there's no rhyme or reason for the time it stays on or goes off again. Some days it stayed on for mere seconds! I don't know if this is standard on all of them, or if I just got a lemon. Based on what went out next, I think it's based on the latter. I could have lived with the quirky backlit keyboard, because it was otherwise a nice computer. Then the bluetooth went out. It was not anything I clicked on. It just crapped out. I did the Windows Troubleshooter on it, and it said there was no bluetooth module installed. Again, it could have been a lemon that I got. Either way, I decided that if the machine had these problems in less than a week of moderate use, there was no upside to keeping it. I'll not buy any more Dell products. I should also mention that there was little or no information that came with the laptop, and there was not even a user manual that you could access without going online. Even then, the information is sparse and mostly unhelpful. I have to say that the return process was simple, and I've always found the folks at Best Buy to be professional and helpful.

I won't give this laptop a 1-star because it functions well from a computational power side. I have owned it for 1.5 years, and for the first year it was great. Then, about 2 months after the 1-year warranty expired, the hinge broke, and is currently held together with tape. Then, over the course of the last few months, the battery life has deteriorated quickly, and the Dell PowerAssist app now tells me that the battery is near the end of its usable life. Most recently, Bluetooth suddenly stopped working, and the troubleshooter claims that my machine is not capable of Bluetooth at all. The fact that this machine is breaking down so quickly just outside of its warranty is extremely frustrating, and has turned me off from Dell entirely.

Amazing computer. The battery is drained quickly but that is expected with a gaming laptop. Graphics are awesome and the computer itself is very easy to use! I even bought it again for my best friend and then myself!

There a couple things you need to do to make this laptop really work like its suppose to. The first thing is forcing it to use the dedicated gpu instead of the built in intel one. Right click on the desktop screen anywhere theres not an icon and go to the nvidia control panel. Then clock on the manage 3d settings tab on the left. For global settings make the preferred graphics processor "High performance Nvidia Processor". This makes it so your computer always uses the graphics card you payed so much money for. The next thing to do is replace the screen with literally anything else. This screen is pretty terrible looking compared to the 2019 version of this laptop. It only costs about $100 to upgrade it yourself and it takes maybe 10 minutes with a couple $5 dollar tools. Look it up on youtube under "g3 panel replacement". Besides that though this is a great laptop.

I purchased this as an emergency laptop for a user at work because it was the only well spec'd machine available. It is a good solid machine. Screen is a little dim, but has a matte finish so no issue with glare - good if you're working outside or anywhere there is glare. The keyboard is ok, with a weird blue hue. While perhaps gamers might like this, the hue makes the keys a little hard to read. But not a dealbreaker as most of the time, folks don't need backlit keys. If they were going to use a colored backlight, why not allow folks to choose the color? Also, the keys are a little small as is the numeric keypad. But overall, this is a good solid and fast work machine. Have not tried any gaming as that was not the intent. However, this is not a good travel machine as it is very very heavy. I would recommend as a desktop replacement and occasional use away from home, but would never recommend this for any real travel. For a home machine - desktop replacement - this is a good solid machine for the value. Also, plenty of ports to hook up monitors and peripherals as you need.

Had to wait to review. I’ve had this computer almost a year now. Runs great still. Only true complaint is the heat it produces after being on only a small amount of time. Even on the cooling pad it’s seems kinda heated. I have a total of 5 gaming computers and this is the only one that gets this hot. However, Performance is exceptional and resolution is superb.

Pros Good price: $ 1,000 usd on sale. Design: simple but beautiful. Dell: good quality. Weight: not heavy at all (avarage weight) Specs: Processor (Intel i7) Video Card (6 GB) RAM (16GB) Cons Screen not bright enough (could be better) Slim for a gaming laptop: ventilation is not the best (highly recommend a fan while playing) Battery runs out quickly If you can afford Dell G5 or G7 go for it but this is a good laptop.

I’m really happy with this purchase. I’m not that much of a gamer, but I do like playing sims and other city builder games. It has no problems running them in ultra setting smoothly. The only problem I have is that it can run pretty hot, but I do also play nonstop for almost up to 6-8 hours, and the fans can get loud. All in all I’m happy with my purchase

I have been VERY pleased with the performance of this laptop that I got in Jan of 2020, 1.5 years later and cracks every time I open the laptop, it finally broke at one side of the hinge. I am very upset about this as I am a photographer and cannot be without my laptop for 3 weeks while they fix it. Other than that, it worked very well for me.

Needed to get a new laptop to replace an old Toshiba I had for about 5 years. Wanted to upgrade the mobile gaming since being more restricted due to health issues. This computer has handled the games I play very well and there is probably more room to expand with some more demanding games. The computer will get hot during heavy use of the GPU, but as long as the fan mode is set to Ultimate, it will cool the machine. A little loud when this mode kicks in so be prepared for that. But it really is not a detriment to the machine. Very pleased with this purchase.

I really like this computer and got it for a very good price for the specs. Runs very well and boots up very quickly. The only downside is that the battery is a little weak and at full charge only lasts about 3 or 4 hours. Overall, great computer for more than just gaming.

This laptops been great for any game I've tossed at it (Skyrim, borderlands 2, etc), compiling complicated applications and reverse engineering binaries. No complaints other than do your research on the Ti Max cars and know what you are getting before purchasing.

I bought the laptop as an entry level gaming computer, but I use it for streaming and graphic design... did upgrade it by adding another 16gb sodimm and a 2tb hard drive and it has been working amazing. I got this on Black Friday so great savings which made this an easier purchase, definitely would recommend it if it goes on sale again.

I will start by saying this is best spec'd machine I have ever owned and also my first gaming laptop. The GPU and CPU are amazing in this, especially for the price. So far I have only had the chance to play COD Mw3 which looks fantastic and plays everything on max settings. However the laptop is fully plastic so it does feel kind of cheap. The fan vent design isn't great as it blows the hot air onto the bottom of the LCD. I bought this as an open box unit and Windows fails to activate. Says it can't find a valid product key to activate so it thinks it is not genuine. Dell support is going to do a warranty repair to replace the motherboard. Let's see if that fixes it. If not, I plan on returning it.

I've had this laptop for a few months now and I honestly say it feels like it could replace my home computer. The quality is plastic but doesn't feel cheap. The keyboard feels nice to type on and has a blue light that makes it easy to type in the dark but isn't obnoxiously bright. I purchased this for a little over a thousand dollars with taxes. I primarily use it for some lite work like rendering and gaming. It does run hot when working and gaming but very comparable to most gaming laptops. Overall everything works as it should and I'm very happy with my purchase.
