Customers are negative about the touchscreen functionality. Several users reported issues with the touchscreen's responsiveness and functionality, including instances of malfunction and display problems. Some experienced problems with the touchscreen not working at all. This suggests significant quality control issues with this particular feature.

I bought two of these laptops in November for a gift. When Christmas came i gave tgd beautiful gifts. Guess what! ! Both laptops have the same Windows 8 product key installed. The laptops couldn't be activated. The beautiful gifts was returned back to me. It was embarrassing. I called Dell and they stated that the computers originally had Windows 8.1 installed and now someone installed Windows 8. The warranty was about to expire but they try to help. They couldn't activate windows. They ended up sending me a flash drive with windows 8.1 and the new product keys. I had to reinstall windows in both laptops. I'm lucky because I have a little bit of technical understanding about computers.

This laptop is a great laptop and the price was fantastic. But it was also a Geek Squad certified refurb purchase. I bought 3 of these systems and all three systems had problems. Two of them had to be sent to dell to be repaired (but at least they still had dell warranties) and the third laptop didnt have the correct widows8 key installed. Even for all the problems it was worth it after putting a 250GB samsung pro SSD in the laptop.

It's bad exp. and wasting time.
The notebook works well except its touch-screen function never work.
Try to exchange in store, not an option.
Return to BB warehouse for exchange, out of stock.
It ended up with refund and a empty desk during these time.
I had to keep shopping.

Liked the computer, but I could not get Windows to activate. When I called Microsoft, the tech told me I should call Dell. After 3 hours with the Dell tech, she proposed having me ship back the laptop so they could replace the motherboard. I returned it and bought a different brand.

I did have trouble with the WiFi at first. But after going through all of the updates it is working great. It took nearly a day of downloading and restarting etc for everything to be updated, which is why I took a star away.

Laptop with no valid Operating System

I brought this refurbished laptop online from best buy. The first one I had a display issue, so I returned it and then got a second one. It was all good but with no valid Windows OS. I ended up calling Best Buy and Microsoft and finally realized that Best Buy was not aware of it. I expected Geeksquad certified laptop would a good one. I expectations on GeekSquad failed for the first time. Thank god it is Best Buy, I walked into the store and returned the second laptop, now the agent at the counter helped me to get another refurbished laptop through one day shipment that too with 10% rewards. When the laptop arrived the second day, I opened it with great joy, the very first screen shocked me. I closed the laptop ran to Best Buy and returned it then and there itself. The Third laptop too did not have a valid product key. I wish GeekSquad pay more attention to their Certification process. Now that I decided not to buy anything Certified by GeekSquad as I dont find any value in their certification. I am happy in that I dealt with Best Buy so I had peace of Mind. Only thing is that I had 2-3 weeks to decide that I did not need a refurbished laptop.

Great Build, Performance, Quality Product

I bought the refurbished Dell Inspiron 15 at Best Buy when it was on sale for $450. I already had 4 other laptops at the time although granted they were all more than 3 years old. I justified this purchase by the i7 processor, 8 gb ram, 1 TB hard-drive, 1080p touchscreen display, and great keyboard and overall build. I couldn't have been more happier. The i7 performance with 8 gb of RAM runs like a champ. I'm able to open multiple tabs, videos, songs, programs, and games without a hitch. The display looks gorgeous. This is definitely a high quality IPS panel with stunning viewing angles. I like having 1 TB of space although it is a slower 5400 RPM running hard-drive. I plan on upgrading to a faster SSD in the future, which I would recommend to anyone buying this. When it came in the box from GeekSquad, there were no signs of physical use. Overall great product, would recommend to anyone. If anyone has any questions please reply to this review and I'd be happy to answer.

Laptop look and feel is awesome. Performance is good too. You cant beat 450 price for I7 Laptop with 8GB memory plus touchscreen.
Hardware no issues.
Keyboard- Its different Keyboard then i used to use so gettiing there
Software - Initially came with Windows 8 and wouldnt let me install any apps from store since its saying to install windows 8.1 update. To install windows 8.1 needed to update Windows 8 update first , I downloaded updates but wouldnt install somehow. spend good 3-4 hours figuring issue and i uninstalled all the updates then re downloaded that worked. Now its working fine.

The other reviews about the lack of product key worried me, but I had no issues with set up. This is an amazing PC (the best I have ever had) and I was thrilled about the price. The screen is sharp and the processor is fast. My only complaint is the lack of touchpad sensitivity at times.

Exactly what does "GeekSquad Certified" mean?

I first noticed some small, light scratches, which I was not surprised by, considering the unit was said to be refurbished, and that's ok. BUT, the touch screen, all 3 usb ports and the wifi card, ALL defective. There is no way someone tested it, so I'm not sure what "certified" means. I'll be trying to get it replaced, but this really has me rethinking the value of "GeekSquad Certified Refurbished" items.

TROUBLE

I purchased this refurbished DELL because it was cheaper than any other prices, I had to return the first one because it had no Windows 8 product key and it had just SO many problems( loose mouse button, REALTEK audio wasn't installed). A bestbuy customer support lady said I'd better return that one and she would purchase a new one for me. I got a new one in a week and it also came with no WINDOWS 8 PRODUCT KEY, so I can't activate it. I have called Bestbuy, Microsoft, and I am now on the line with DELL tech support for 40 minutes. How do you sell a computer with no product key? You HAVE to inform your customers that this computer DOES NOT come with a windows 8 product key. I will never buy any Refurbished DELL computers from Bestbuy, that has been a horrible experience and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND anyone to purchase this.

Great laptop with good specs. It is pretty fast. The touch screen is very responsive. The laptop body is built pretty solid. It looks great. The only issue is the keyboard. The keyboard lights up, but the design of the keys makes it difficult to type fast. I am sure I will get used to it over time. You can also use the on-screen keyboard (touchscreen) or always plug in an external keyboard. For the price, it is a good value.

Be Wary

People have always told me that if it is too good to be true, it probably isn't true. After researching for days on multiple sites for a replacement for my previous, I found the exact one I wanted (with ONLY the bells a whistles that I wanted to pay for - I'm sure you can relate). I had high hopes for this laptop and after waiting only a few days, received it in the mail.
However, upon start-up, it appeared that windows needed to be setup by calling into an 800-number. Upon calling the number and entering all the code information, the online (non-human) prompt system told me that the codes were incorrect, so I had no windows. My next step was to set-up networking & browsing capability. However, it was "stuck" on airplane mode and the wifi would not work. After my buddy that used to work with the "Geek Squad" could not do anything with it, I took it to my closest Best Buy store. After an hour, the techs still couldn't figure it out and said I would just need to trade it in. I scoffed, considering the cost of new laptops filled with stuff I do not need. I browsed for a bit, then asked for my money back. I was at least relieved for their return policy.
How can this laptop have been "Certified" by the Geek Squad when the wifi clearly wasn't working (which is one of the Certified checklist items)? Not being able to fix a seemingly minor issue has shaken my faith in their expertise a bit and this experience may have burnt me for future "certified" refurbished systems, but time will tell. All-in-all, be wary of online purchases that cannot be touched before purchase. Sometimes you DO get what you pay for...

The laptop would of been perfect if not for the touch screen.
Screen was going all crazy on me.
I don't recommend this laptop unless it's new.
