I bought this computer for my young kids to use for their home schooling. Most of their work is on line and they do not use or need many files on their computer. This product has a great small size which is easier for the kids to transport around and it performs all of the functions they need. It is too slow in responding and the lack of storage space would not make this a good computer for adults to purchase for their use.

Hello Basic,
Thanks for your review. We are so happy to hear that your new Dell computer is working so well for your children's home schooling. If you'd like to look at ways to improve the speed of the computer you can run the Windows Performance Troubleshooter:
1. Close all open windows. 2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard. 3. Click Control Panel. 4. Click System and Security. 5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems. 6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks. 7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process. 8. Restart the PC.
If you'd like to free up space on the computer you can look into storing files in the cloud with Microsoft's OneDrive or you could remove programs from your computer that you do not plan to use. We hope these tips help improve your computer's performance.
Best, Bryan 1-800-624-9896

Overall it’s a good laptop for the money you spend. It’s lightweight and as a college student it’s great for school. Powerful enough to do what you need to do with it. The only problem I have with it is the amount of storage. After you do updates to Windows, you have little to no space left, so as a precaution, I would spend 15-20 bucks for a flash drive. Once I did, it made it so much better with that added space. If it had 64 GB instead of 32, I’d give it a five star.

I dumped cable TV and used an Internet substitute. That meant I had to replace all the cable boxes with computers. I looked for the cheapest computers I could find to replace them with. The little laptop from Dell matched what I was looking for. I used my desktop computers for my other TVs. The little laptop worked, but it must not have enough memory because unlike with the other computers I spent a lot of time watching the buffer arrow rotate rather than cable programs. It does work if pretty well if only one TV is running.

Basic fully functional Laptop once updated with latest Microsoft Windows updates. Challenge to update Microsoft Windows operating system due to 32GB storage, requires additional storage for update. Buy large microSD card.
"Microsoft Office 365 Personal Activation Card" was NOT delivered. Customer Service please advise where/how to activate "Microsoft Office 365".

Nice size and screen display. needs more built-in storage (larger SSD)
SD car slot is a very nice feature and does allow expanded (semi-permanent) storage. Size and weight are ideal for traveler who wants full functionality (assuming you don't need a built-in removable disk drive). USB 3.0 port is a necessity for high speed access to flash drives or other external storage devices.
All around nice machine for low-end or occasional users.

This is a good little laptop. Got it on sale for $150. It is a little slow, but no where near what I expected, more than useable for using Chrome and lite Office work. The only issue I've run into is applying Windows updates like 1803. Drive space gets tight, but this is solved by using an external drive. Overall, good purchase.

This was a good buy for its price, however it didnt have enough memory or space for what my daughter needed it for. We returned and purchased a laptop that met our needs. However for someone not needing a lot of storage space for downloads and such this is ideal. (someone who is using it for browsing internet, streaming online etc).

Bought these laptops on sale. They're small, lightweight, and come with enough features to get by. Don't expect to get heavy usage out of these, but for the price, they're great for traveling or light office work.

I've had this little laptop for over a year now, and I am quite satisfied with it. Obviously I did not expect anything big out of $120 laptop, and I had to wipe out the original install with a clean fresh Windows 10 install, drop McAfee and only use Windows Defender as my security suite since, as many point out, normal Windows 10 Home is simply too big for 32 GB non-expandable hard drive. I purchased a 32 GB micro SD card and use it to store all my data and files, basically giving the 32 GB of the hard drive space to system and windows files. The laptop is a bit slow, but for my needs it is perfect: browsing, youtube, docs creating and editing, e-mails, all the basic stuff. The screen is quite basic. The speakers are subpar, but I never use them anyway, always use headphones. it is very compact and that's what I like the best, very easy to take with you when you travel. Overall, if you dont need a powerhouse to run heavy games or video editing or run 10 apps at the same time, then this is a very good computer

The sale price was excellent so for 149.00 I could not be more pleased. I needed a simple lightweight laptop to basically have to check email and use for a few searches now and then. The laptop I purchased from best Buy was well suited to my needs

This computer only comes with 4G of RAM and 32G of storage. It is not a machine to do any heavy lifting with. However, the small size and light weight makes the machine very portable. It is well suited for surfing and has a quick response if you don't load too many extra programs.

I needed a light inexpensive laptop for travel, that can do basic office tasks and email. This does the job. I was able to create Word and Excel docs and take care of my email while traveling. However, the storage is almost completely filled by the OS so purchasing a micro SD card for storage of all data is a must. I was not able to update Windows out of the box until I had installed the micro SD card.
Also, the bloat ware is annoying with such little memory.
Outside of that, it takes care of basic computing needs for very little cost.

This little laptop is so much easier to carry around than my full size one. There isn't enough space and memory to use bigger programs, but it's perfect for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet/email. Great for a student or traveler.

I use this for work and personal internet use, apps, etc. it’s lightweight and travels well. My only complaint is that it has very little storage space, so I started getting alerts about low space after creating only 2 Word docs.

My sole reason I purchased this was to be able to access my old PC files. The nice feature that this laptop has is that it comes with a year’s free for a single user Office 365 subscription. This alone is worth 70. The laptop was on sale for 130 so it was a no brainer. Don’t expect crazy fast speeds on this, because it only has 4gb of ram, which is very minimal in this day and age. This laptop works well for anyone looking to surf the web and check email. Otherwise, the functions are relatively limited. You can’t really beat the price though! Great buy for my needs.

I purchased this laptop for personal use and not for gaming. The price was right and it has done exactly what I needed it to do so far. Only down fall is memory but it has a place for sd/usb to be used.

I needed an inexpensive and tossable notebook for my work travel and this fits the bill nicely. The AMD A6, even in it's cutdown "E" version, is significantly faster than the usual Intel 3050/3060 found in notebooks of this price point and the R4 GPU is much faster as well. That said, it's not going to light the world on fire but it is perfectly capable of web browsing, e-mail and office work. This is by no means a gaming laptop.
The biggest disappointment is Dell crippling the modest hardware with insane amounts of bloated add-ons to the already overweight Windows 10. I immediately wiped Windows off the drive and installed Antergos Linux and the difference is night and day. When relieved of the bulk of Windows 10 this little book comes to life. A full install of Antergos KDE requires only 6 gigs of space and consumes only 700 mb of ram. I tested several different distros and they all ran flawlessly, provided they have a 4.13 kernel or later.
For under $200 you really can't go wrong and if you're curious about Linux then give this one a try. I'm glad I did.

I thought I was getting a great deal because it was on sale for $149, but nope not a good deal at all. It said it comes with Office but I have yet been able to download this as I keep getting Error message, "Sorry we can't install Office. You need 3219 MB of free space on your hard drive." So I just spent $50 for a 1TB external hard drive because I was told by a Dell specialist (after spending an hour on the phone!) this would solve the problem...nope still no luck *sigh* If I would've known this I would've waited to just buy another brand I had my eye on.
In a nutshell this is great for just emailing/youtube, light stuff but for really doing big things, like Office, this isn't good because by the time everything is ready to boot up the Dell apps have sucked up pretty much the whole hard drive! I don't even need XBOX stuff but it won't let me delete it.
Not a happy customer, not with BestBuy, but with this laptop.

gregsbaby,
We're sorry to hear that you're not completely satisfied with the performance of your new Dell laptop. If you'd like help freeing up space on your computer we'd recommend removing some programs that you do not plan to use. Here's a list of programs to consider uninstalling: https://dell.to/2JruiaG.
If you'd like to uninstall programs, here are the steps: Uninstalling or removing software or applications that you do not use or do not need from your PC can help speed up your PC. Applications may include background processes, system services, context menu entries and other things that can slow down your PC.
Uninstall applications you no longer need using Programs and Features (previously called Add/Remove Programs). Unnecessary applications occupy space on your hard disk drive.
1. Press the Windows logo key + R on the keyboard. 2. In the Run dialog box, type appwiz.cpl and press the Enter key. 3. In the list, select a program and click Uninstall.
