I’m already having issues with the laptop and I’ve only had it for a few weeks. It just quits working and shuts down on it’s own along with not turning on when it doesn’t want to. I wish I could just exchange it.

Laptop,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry your computer is not working as well as you'd like it to. We'd recommend changing the settings in your Power Manager so that your computer does not shut down while in sleep mode in order to save energy. If you have any technical questions about your computer you can check our Product Support Page here: https://dell.to/3lvh8fA.

I love my new computer! It is easy to use. It is very thin and not bulky. I would highly recommend this computer. The touch screen is a great feature.

Nice overall appearance. In highlight situations the keys are hard to read when lit, but their backlighting can be turned off which makes them much easier to see. A little heavy, but I appreciate the screen size. Meets my needs for basic image editing, crafting, and teaching remotely, but the speakers are placed on the bottom which means that the sound is easily muffles if not working on a hard surface.

Great product. It replaced an older model that I used for 5 years. The processing on this one is incredible and really makes a difference. I'm really happy with it.

The speed and graphics are great. The sound and keyboard are an issue.
If the laptop is sitting on your "lap" it blocks the speakers. They can only be heard well if the laptop is sitting on a solid flat surface.
The backlit keyboard and lettering on the keys are terrible. You cannot see the letters on the keys in bright or dim light. Sunlight and the reflection of the screen blocks the lettering as well.
There are two brightness levels to the backlit keys but the higher setting bleeds out around the keys silhouetting the letters and the lower setting makes the keys barely more readable than without. The silver finish and white lettering is pretty aesthetically but not functional.
I would not recommend and wish I had just returned it and paid the restocking fee.

This laptop turned out to be a surprisingly good choice for one of our remote users. There weren't a whole lot of options in the price range we wanted to spend that were available immediately, but this one was right on mark. It's a good looking laptop and seems sturdy enough. It has very solid specs, and the 16GB or RAM paired with the SSD really make it a responsive machine compared to our current desktops. I would buy this model again if available.

Sleek looking but bad design. You cannot see the keys on the key pad if the screen is showing sonething bright given the silver and soft glow on the keys. Also the mouse pad is terrible. Clicking anything using the standard clicking bottom left and bottom right are borderline pounding on them. While standard, there's a lot of junk advertising like McAffee, dell upgrades etc. Also didn't help that best buy took over 2 weeks to get this to me.

Timtim,
Thanks for your feedback and we're sorry that your backlit keyboard is not working out well for you. Here is an article that will help your adjust the lighting or turn it off entirely: https://dell.to/2RHKgTj.
If you need to re-calibrate your touchpad you can follow these steps:
Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl. 2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs. 3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab. 4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad. 5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option). 6. Change the options as preferred. 7. Touch or click Save. 8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility. 9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window. 10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

typing is tricky if you aren't used to the keyboard/track pad how they are set up, but I'm getting the hang of it. So far so good. I bought it refurbished so the keys are worn off, but otherwise it seems to work well.

Although I just setup this laptop today so I really don't know a lot about it yet. I was pleasantly surprised on how light weight it was. I liked the tutorial guiding through the setup process. The biggest issue I experienced was the delivery was delayed so that I am now just got back to take delivery and setup.

This is a great fast laptop. 11th gen i7 processor, 16gb ram, and a big 512GB SSD drive. No optical drive, but really these days it's so uncommon to need it that it's hardly a drawback. I've had no issues with the machine so far and it's so fast it's just flying when I need something.

Love my laptop. I am a number keypad person (used to ten key numbers ages ago), so I am probably a dying breed. I wish that the bumps on the 5, F & J were more prominent. I still have to visually check if I am on the home keys.
