Good Laptop

There is an issue with the sound. At times a cracking or similar sound can be heard when watching a movie or listening to music, annoying but it is occasional. A sound update is available from Dell but it does not really fix the issue.

Not only did they pour in the higher end memory and the dual hard drives, but the Ryzen 5 is a terrific processor. Form and function is super. This may be the best deal for the money right now. I never thought I would use the touch screen so much, but I'd have a hard time going back to a standard non-touch.

Poor Quality

It does have a cheap, plastic-y feel to it. Upon arrival, some function keys did not work, had crackly sounding audio, and poor video output (hazy looking). This was my second one of these laptops in a week and both had to be returned. The last one had a fan that randomly ran at top speed causing the mouse to freeze, which happened four times within one hour, and video output was hazy, and no other issues. Best Buy gave me no problem returning these, which was some consolation, but these laptops should have had none of these problems for being brand new.

Dell Inspiron 1500

I worked for Dell years ago and love their product. I still have a Dell Latitude D530 that I purchased in 2008. It still works, but with today's "heavy" graphics, it is outclassed.
