This was a last minute purchase for me. I had to get some work done during a long weekend on the road. I usually work on a fairly powerful desktop in my office with multiple monitors.
I was not trying to replace my normal unit with a laptop. Instead, I wanted a fairly cheap option that would provide strong performance for occasional use.
This Dell Inspiron fit the bill.
For an inexpensive laptop, I think it provides great value.
256 GB Solid state hard drive is fast.
8GB RAM is sufficient for most office apps to run well. (My desktop has 32GM RAM, but I didn't notice a big difference with MS Office.)
15.6" Screen is surprisingly large and effective.
Keyboard is good sized and not cramped. (However, because I was working from a hotel desk for the weekend, I added a full-sized bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse.)
Battery life has been a pleasant surprise.
The laptop is also lightweight.
I think this laptop provides really good value for the money.

I do really like my new Dell laptop. It is easy to use, it operates faster than my old computer. I like the 15.6 inch screen. I didn't give it an excellent rating for 2 simple reasons. First, it shows every single fingerprint. I try to keep my hands clean, but I am going to have to find a good cleaner. Second, if I step away for a minute or two while the computer is on, it seems to freeze and I have to start over. I am not a computer expert so I am not sure if that is normal. I've only had it a few weeks.

Lasted for like 5 years before it started saying low disk space, but I was a stay at home mom for the majority of that. The battery life is terrible though and I’ve had to replace the battery within like 2 years of having it.

Wonderful computer with a touchscreen!! I bought one of these for my dad for Father's Day and set it up for him. I loved it so much I went back and bought another one for myself. This computer is excellent value for the price. Some of the other reviewers are a little unrealistic in my opinion and expect too much. These are an awesome deal. Dell makes it very easy to upgrade these computers; I upgraded both laptops to 16GB RAM by simply unscrewing the cover on the bottom (9 screws). Upgrading to 16GB makes the machines even faster. I looked online and believe these can hold all the way up to 64GB RAM (2 x 32GB DDR4) but it's a little expensive right now. These computers have an M.2 SSD and there is also a empty bay available to add a standard 2.5" SSD drive. I also bought the DW316 Dell DVD player from Best Buy since these don't include a CD or DVD drive. Also, these computers have "Windows 10 S Mode" but it is easy to switch to normal Windows 10 Home by going to the Microsoft Store. Battery can last around 10 hours on battery depending on what you are doing with it. Another thing I like is the separate number keyboard which is handy when using the Windows calculator. These are durable laptops and have a nice fit and finish. Nothing flashy and entirely professional. Dell did a great job!!

I am pleased with this laptop in basically every way. It is easy to use, has great features, and is priced right for what it has. I use it daily for college and i could not ask for a bettsr computer. The battery life is about 4 hours per charge and the speed is perfect. I have plenty of memory and it was simple to personalize this computer to my needs. Im very happy with this purchase!

I had been researching for a laptop ever since I went back to college. I was looking for something that works well, fast and not expensive. This is great laptop for the basic use such as surfing, emailing using word/excel etc. Also forgot to mention this is a very light laptop.

This is a great computer for the price. I bought it for my wife, to run a few programs, produce a Word document now and then, and use it for email. But, in addition, it has a very nice sized screen, which is very clear. It has excellent speed for everyday tasks, and it is light enough to carry around.

I use a Dell at work and after purchasing a computer at another retailer that wouldn't start up (defective--returned) I decided to look for a selection of Dell computers to evaluate. Best Buy provided a good selection within my price point; there were knowledgeable people to answer questions and assist.
I'm very happy with my purchase; the Dell is comparable to mine at work so I'm quite familiar with it. It set up easily, has good speed and the operation is easy. I like to use a mouse, but the touch screen option is also useful.
My only issue was not being informed that it came with a trial of Windows 365 and I purchased a subscription to that program. I was able to use the provided free month and then cancel and will be using my purchased unit.
Besides that, very satisfied.

Tough little laptop! Does the job without all the bells and whistles but it's sturdy and easy to use. The only real problem has been that the keys on the keyboard wear off so you have to know how to type!

This is an amazing computer and the price can not be beat. This is the fastest moving laptop I have ever owned. It is nice for once to have a computer that is one step ahead of me and not lagging behind my clicks. I do not use the touch screen much but it's nice knowing it's there as it does come in handy from time to time. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a laptop as it has covered both my personal and more important, my work needs. Go to the store and open up this computer at the same time as another computer next to it and this one will open up much quicker.

I like this computer a lot for the price. My only problem is with the touchpad/trackpad and that is just my inability to adjust to it. It’s a bit big for me and I struggle with getting it to click in the right place at the right time, then I remember “oh yeah it’s a touchscreen “. I just do I bit of crafting and internet surfing so I don’t need a lot from my computer at this point so this does what I need and does it well. I just wanted a large touchscreen and that’s what I got. I’m happy.

My 10 year old desktop was on it's last legs, so I needed to find a replacement. I am the least technical person on the planet but this new laptop (my first) was incredibly easy to set up and use. I was determined to hate the touchscreen....but I love it. I was sure the keyboard would be too small and therefore awkward....it wasn't. I don't know a gig from a fig but Best Buy has made it easy to find answers to my questions ( like what the charger cord looks like since I was afraid I'd thrown it away with the box.) I'd happily recommend this laptop and Best Buy to anyone.

The Laptop is a touch screen, which makes it par when it comes to my University Schooling. I'm in the Paramedic Hybrid Online course, and this is indispensable. I don't care about the Gaming capability, this is a HD tv type more than a gaming pc, but I like the fact the screen isn't too shiny so it keeps the glare feedback down very well. It's responsive, and I can stay in class or clinicals all day long and it doesn't go dead. It has a fast mouse speed, the only issue I've had with it so far is I had to buy an external mouse because I can't seem to figure out how to make it work with my fingers when it comes to clicking things.
I wouldn't call it "durable" so you have to treat it carefully like you would any important electronic device so if you're prone to abuse your equipment like on a construction site this isn't for you. One thing I will add is you will want a microfiber cloth to wipe it clean often, fingermarks have been an issue for me when viewing the material on the screen.
