Hard to find anything that beats this for the price when it's on sale. Anything cheaper usually compromises on screen resolution, HDD vs SSD, or a lower-tier graphics card. Pros: - 1050 Ti should be enough for a couple of years of Med/High 1080p gaming - SSD is nice and quick + room to add another drive - Not much bloatware to uninstall Cons: - A little chunky, but nothing too crazy. This isn't an Ultrabook, but it's definitely portable

This laptop has more than met my expectations in terms of performance. Has played every game I have thrown at it with either max settings or almost max settings though I’m playing about 3 year old games newer games will be at lower settings. It does come with an additional open hard drive bay which I have made use of for installing all my steam games onto and for backing up some files and documents. The laptop is heavy, but that was expected for a gaming laptop. The sharp corners on the front side of the laptop is painful if used for long periods of time and the fans are very loud so headphones are a must. In terms of hardware the display is nice, but not amazing, the processor more than handles whatever I through at it and the dual graphics allows for longer battery life when just using it for basic stuff and then great performance when required. I would recommend not getting to far from the power cords as it has about a 2hrs battery life when used in desktop and about 45min when gaming? But it varries depending on work loads. Over all this is the best laptop I have ever owned due to my budget not being very high. This is a budget gaming laptop that will get you by, but is not an amazing performer when compared to the more expensive models so keep that in mind.

I am a system administrator by trade. I have a nice desktop but I needed a powerful laptop so I can run virtual windows machines on when I need to test something or when I am studying. Of course i do play video games every now and then so I took that into consideration as well. After looking online for about a week I finally decided to get this laptop. The i5 desktop latest gen processor is more than enough for gaming and hyper v machines. I purchased an additional Sandisk 512GB SSD to compliment the already installed 256 SSD. I spent all last night updating and upgrading my windows version to pro and this laptop really is amazing! Of course it only comes with 8GB of Ram but today I ordered a 32 GB set of ram online so that's all good. This laptop really does fly and the materials and build is very impressive. The gtx, 1050ti is great and i can play Witcher 3 at ultra with shadows and hair turned down. Also was just playing the new Rainbow Six Siege expansion at 1080 max settings and the frames were holding 50-60 fps just fine. This laptop is a great price and just an overall great deal. I am very happy with my purchase.

Finally a laptop that was built right. The air is sucked up from the bottom and goes out the back. Running my virtual games produces zero fan noise. One screw on the bottom opens the case for all kinds of upgrades. Open memory slot and a open ssd drive slot. The main hardrive is an M.2 card. Outstanding. And if that’s not enough, it has a GTX 1050 TI card with 4 gigs of video ram. The IPS screen tops the cake. On sale for 750$? It’s the laptop of the year hands down. Great job Dell.

Did my research on this laptop and this one is the up to date model with the better screen compared to the pervious model. 8/20/2017. Got it for 800 bucks with the student discounts of 100 dollars off and on top of a 50 dollar sale so you honestly cant beat the price for what you get. Upgraded the ram to 16gb for about $70 with a Crucial 8GB. SSD hard drive is in this model so I was pleased with that. Soon I will upgrade to another 500gb ssd when more games and files are saved. The red keys are nice and not to bright at night. Screen is better then before as stated. Fans are loud for a lap top but that doesn't bother me. Battery yes is long but I have noticed a difference in gaming when it is unplugged vs plugged in just seems laggy, but that is probably do to me not properly adjusting the setting of the GeForce graphics card. Wasn't a huge fan of dell laptops until recently with other models family members have owned. Can't beat the price and the hardware that is in this model.

I purchased this laptop for 699 on Black Friday pre-sale and and have had no problems with it. The laptop runs smoothly and the battery lasts a good long time. The ram seems sufficient and the ssd is fast. I plan to add another hard drive for storage. I have autocad 2018 on it and that runs smoothly. I am happy with this laptop.

This laptop satisfies! I bought it as secondary gaming computer for when I travel, didn't want to try and stream my games over the internet, and couldn't bring my 30 pound desktop with me everywhere. This laptop performs very well with the games I've set before it, I haven't tried every title in my library, but the ones I have, ran very well. I used geforce experience to update my drivers which were pretty old for the card, and then let it set the recommended settings for all my games, and they looked beautiful, the 1080p IPS panel really makes the magic happen. There's no g-sync on a laptop this price, so you'll have to make use of V-sync, but it still looks really good. The fit and finish on this product is EXCELLENT. It's got a great matte finish on the plastic, that's almost a little rubbery, it gives it a very satisfying texture, though it does hold oil from your hands, so you'll have to throw a microfiber in your laptop bag if that bothers you. The dell software honestly is really good too, remove the mcafee first thing and use the webroot best buy gives you for free, and then when that runs out, either renew the webroot or honestly just use the windows defender, it works great! The driver support on their website is top notch, it'll scan your system and automatically queue up the updates you need. You just download and install them one by one, it even saved the one that needs an update for last!! You don't get that kind of service elsewhere. I'm a hardcore PC power user, and I've owned a lot of laptops over the years, and there was honestly a time that I wouldn't touch Dell's, but that time has long passed us by, and they've entered an age of excellence that will satisfy any discerning user. I love this laptop and use it nearly every day at work, instead of using the iPad Pro they gave me to log into my virtual machine. If you're on the fence, the only reason you shouldn't buy this RIGHT NOW, is if you're considering buying the better version with the 1060 or higher. It may be worth it if it's your primary machine that you intend to do all your gaming on, but if it's just for travelling, or casual gaming, this will absolutely fulfill your needs! Cheers!

I bought this Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop on Black Friday for a good deal around $699. The model I purchased has the Intel i5 7300HQ 4-cores 4 threads with 8GB DDR4-2400 memory, 256GB M.2 SATA SSD with Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050ti 4GB graphics along with a IPS screen, one note here: make sure you check the specs closely because some models of this laptop still sell the laptop with the awful TN screen. Close to 2 months of use with this laptop and I must say for a budget laptop it preforms well. I’m sure a lot of us tech gurus are very weary about any laptop that supposedly says gaming in the title and for under $800 but for me its performance is good. A couple of points about this laptop, one the i5 7300HQ even though it has just 4 cores and threads for normal every day tasks like word processing, browsing the net it handles really smooth with no problems whatsoever. Now for gaming it will handle games that don’t use much CPU and GPU power like CS GO, over watch it will play extremely smooth. If your getting into triple A titles like GTA V this is where you would need to turn down some settings to play over 60 fps. As far upgrade ability I did upgrade this laptop to 16GB of memory even though its over kill but later on down the road that memory will be necessary if your multitasking as I plan to install Photoshop and Premiere and open multiple tabs on chrome browser. There is space for a 2.5 HDD or SSD in which also I like to install for extra storage, if you plan to install an 2.5 HDD or SDD make sure the sata cable is there and a caddie as from previous reviewers say that when they brought this laptop they didn’t have it as you have to order it from Dell so make sure you check if there is a sata cable and caddie. Next, the M.2 slot does support NVMe SSDs in which in the future I will consider upgrading down the line as I do love the very fast speed but the M.2 SATA SSD that is already in the laptop will do just fine. I am happy with this laptop overall, I would of preferred the i7 7700HQ cpu a lot more cause it’s better in performance but it was a bit off my budget but still I am happy with the current laptop I have with the i5 in it.

I picked this up on a Black Friday deal for $699 and I consider that a steal. The SSD may have a low capacity but is definitely a must have. You can always drop a second drive in it very easily. This thing can run most games perfectly fine with high graphics settings and the IPS screen is much better than a TN panel. There are only 2 minor negatives associated with it. I would prefer 16 gigs of RAM in dual channel but dropping another stick in it is a piece of cake. The network card (Intel 3165) is garbage. Spend an extra $30 and grab an Intel 8265 network card. You'll more than double your Internet connection speed and once again, installing it is a snap. Overall, this is a really nice laptop for an excellent price. I highly recommend it.

So as a student, I am on a budget and just received my financial aid. (I also love gaming). This gaming Dell was on sale for 889.00 and I snatched it up! The graphics on this are unreal and the speakers that are built in are so good. And, I can do my homework on it as well. It's a llittle on the heavy side, but that's ok! For under 1000, I have a great deal!

So far it can handle all applications I’ve thrown at it. The 4 core i5 can handle pretty much any task you need it too. I upgraded the ram from 8Gb to 32GB and then added a second 2TB SSHD to it. Thing is great and I’d definitely recommend someone looking for a reasonable system on a budget. If you get this an upgrade it yourself you save a ton of money vs buying it with the upgrades already in it at the store!

I was looking for a laptop that I could use for both work at the office and gaming at home. I didn't want to spend too much, and got this model on sale for $750. It came with a 256GB SSD, which I upgraded to 1TB HD. I had BestBuy install it for $40 and the technician looked like he stripped the screw and didn't even screw it all the way in. I asked him to fix it and he said thats just the way it is. I told him it wasnt, and he went into the back and fixed it probably 85-90%. I said Okay. I went home and the hard drive was not recognized. I drove back to the store and waited an hour for the technician to tell me "something must have gotten unhooked." He got the hard drive recognized and I went home. The computer worked great at home, pushing the few games I tried close to max settings. Don't expect to get the highest frame rate possible at the best quality in most games. It still looks decent though and recommend to those that are on a budget. I went to work and the wifi was terrible. It says it was connected with internet but it seemed to stop transferring data repeatedly. I researched on the web and saw that there were a huge amount of people in the past that have had problems just like myself. I tried everything that was recommended and nothing succeeded. I then returned the laptop to BestBuy and received the same exact model again. I brought it to work and had the same exact problems. I then called Dell for about an hour and I finally fixed the problem. It comes either pre-installed / or installed with Dell Updates that install a program called "SmartBytes". I uninstalled this program and everything has been great. I also installed a 512GB SSD drive myself instead of the 1TB HD (which was very easy, and ensured none of my screws were stripped by someone else... You need a special small screw driver to ensure the screw does not get damaged. I also had to purchase the SSD mount ($9.99 at BestBuy) to get the screws for this [the computer or SSD do not provide screws needed for mounting]). The 1TB HD seemed to make the computer boot much slower (even though the OS was installed on the original SSD), than the Samsung 512GB SSD that I installed myself with the second computer. Overall after everything is said and done, I love the computer I have now. I hope this information helps anyone else looking to purchase this computer.

You get what you paid for, and I am satisfied with my purchase. Although in the beginning, I need to do a few updating the drivers, settings, etc, after that you're all set and can do basically anything with a smooth result from video/picture editing, using trading platforms and decent gaming (i use all these 3 things with this laptop). Good deal for a college student (y)

As a gaming laptop, I've played Fallout 4 on the laptop and it handles it fine even without a ram upgrade. Primarily, however, I purchased this laptop so that I could open several adobe programs and do some design work and animations which my previous laptop couldn't handle. Laptop has a GREAT battery that can last up to 8 hours(maybe more if you're just reading/low brightness, etc) just browsing, and 4-6 under heavy load. Gaming it supposedly lasts 2 hours but i just plug it in for that. No problems loading programs, though be wary that this machine isn't glitch free. I ran into one major issue with the display driver. Windows recent update fixed it, but previously any time my laptop would go into sleep, waking it up would create a white screen with lines. This issue has been on several other laptops(not just dell) and it meant that I had to turn off my laptop every time I wanted to shut the lid so I didn't have to force restart. Fixed now like I said, but something to keep in mind. Had this laptop for a few months and it overall works great, though! Only other complaint I have is that the plastic material picks up fingerprints super easy and it's hard to wipe down.

During the doorbuster deals the price of this laptop was too good to pass up. You get the best of both worlds. Speed for working and enough graphics power to enjoy todays modern games. The laptop impressed me to say the less. I am not a huge fan of Intel processors, and was skeptical about the i5 in this product, however it runs very well and allows for multitasking very well. The CPU is rated at 2.5GHz but the resource monitor often shows 3.2GHz or better. Also, you can run games/applications on either the integrated graphics or the nVidia graphics card by choice. The computer will most likely be setup to automatically select the best graphics processor unit to run on. Therefore, sometimes low-end games will try to run off of the integrated graphics, and it will run poorly and display bad graphics, etc. To fix it, the specific application/game just needs to be manually set to run on the nVidia card. Overall, without any upgrades, the performance this laptop puts out is great. It does lack hard drive space, but the solid state drive that it comes with is 500% worth it. Do not get a computer with the manual hard disks now-a-days, they are absolute junk. I lacked upgrading to a SSD, and since I've purchased this product, I have upgraded all my desktops to SSD as well. Furthermore, this laptop is well prepared with an additional expansion slot to add another SSD to the laptop very easily. +1 for this. It also could use a memory upgrade, but again, it isn't bad as is. The battery seems to never be mentioned anymore. Not 100% but I am pretty sure it is a 4-cell battery. Nothing excitable. It seems some of my basic drivers were not installed, even after the CD installations. I went to the Dell website and found some drivers for basic things that were not installed, such as MaxAudioPro driver for the headphone jack. The laptop was pre-loaded with 1 year of McAfee LiveSafe as well. I can't really complain about anything. I researched it online and noticed an offer that I could add a Dell Mixed Reality Headset to the order and it would be free! I made the purchase in the store and had to mention this to the store clerk. They looked it up online and basically said, "Oh yeah, look at that, here ya go." So I am not sure if it always is free with it. Lol. But that totally was icing on the cake! Great laptop!
