One month with the product
Pros
-Performing laptop (large memory, fast processor, etc...)
-large display + touchscreen technology
-Dvd writer
-Easy access to upgradeable components (HDD & RAM). I almost forgot how regular HDDs are slow compared to SSDs. I swaped mine with a simple SSD and voila, the speed was where I expected it to be.
-Almost ZERO Bloatware!!!!! This truly impressed me as I was expecting to uninstall the junkware that comes with most laptops these days.
-backlit keyboards
Cons
-battery sucks big time. Barely gets 2 hrs run on high performance
-heavy to carry around everyday
-no VGA output
Despite the medium cons, this laptop does a good job of replacing my desktop while I'm not settled yet. Because I leave it plugged most of the time, I can forgive Dell for selling half baked batteries.
On a side note, BestBuy really rocks. They matched this product price against a competitor that was selling it at a much lower price. Love it!!!!

I got this laptop the beginning of my freshman year in college. I thought that if I bought this laptop it would last me through college but it decided to died on me on finals week. The worse time any college student had to face. Since I didn’t buy any protection for my laptop I couldn’t really do anything about it. After finals, I took my laptop to my uncle; since he’s a tech guy, to see if there was something wrong with my laptop but at the end of the day he told me that it was officially broken and he can’t do much to fix it. I only had this laptop for a year and 4 months and it wasn’t really worth the price I bought it for. I can’t even send it back to Dell because my laptop warranty was already over and it would cost me so much money to get it through them. I really don’t recommend this for any college student, maybe middle/high school student.

So, my last computer sucked. Really bad. It made an obnoxious grinding noise that still unnerves me, but, to the poor thing's credit, it worked. It was a touch slow, and the screen had broken day three, but I could actually open up the internet, Word, and iTunes all at the same time.
It seems that I can barely have one open at all with this computer. That's a bit of a problem.
This Inspiron 5555 that I type this review with lags as I type. It takes almost two whole seconds for a sentence to appear on the screen after I finish typing, and even then some of the words have missing characters. I am currently running no other apps or programs other than Google Chrome. This is the only tab open, and the computer can barely take it.
Oh, and by the way, it took me forty five minutes to launch Chrome.
I don't download things because the computer can't handle it.
I can't open my task manager half the time. It straight up won't open.
It gets really hot.
There is generally a noticeable lag when adjusting the brightness and volume.
The Start button doesn't work (not to be confused with the Power button, which only barely works).
The only saving grace to this computer is the 1TB hard drive. Shame the rest of the computer sucks so bad that I can't take advantage of said hard drive.
I don't blame Best Buy for selling me a bad product. I blame Dell for creating one.
I wouldn't suggest this computer.
