This is my first laptop purchase, ever, so I did a lot of review reading and friend-opinion asking before buying this computer. The bundle offer is what really put my choice in motion, as it came with a Microsoft Office 365 and a year of Kaspersky Antivirus membership.
Startup was pretty simple. I only ran into a glitch when a "tutorial prompt" on the left got stuck there and wouldn't leave my screen for anything. A quick Google search helped me remedy the little problem. I didn't get the time to play with the laptop much for about a week or two, but when I started downloading the freebies (Dropbox, Google Chrome, Office, Kaspersky, etc.), I started getting a "popup" tab whenever I went online (whether on Internet Explorer OR Google Chrome) that told me my computer had been infected, and I needed to call the number on the screen IMMEDIATELY! I ignored it several times, but after a few days, out of curiosity, I called the number and spoke to a very nice techie who helped me clean up some of the programs. He didn't ask for money or anything. I hang up. A few minutes later, the same thing started happening again. I called the same number (although the popup gave me a different number the next time), and asked for the same guy I spoke to the first time, but the fellow who answered the phone the second time had an Indian accent instead of American, and he avoided all my requests, showed me what was "wrong" with my computer, and pressured me into purchasing a 300 dollar "fix." He said he represented a totally different company than the first guy, too. I didn't fall for it, but it made me mad to have wasted my time on calling the number I figured was a scam to begin with. I believe the first guy remotely set up my computer for the second guy to infiltrate it. They both did totally different things, and found completely different "problems." I felt like an idiot, but I learned a few things.
The good news...
This Laptop comes with an option in the computer settings that allows you to "Recycle" the computer...basically, reboot it back to its original default settings, and start over. This wasn't a problem for me, since it was basically a "fresh start" computer. It took a few hours, but it worked, and now - two months later - all is well, and there has been no problems whatsoever! I'm glad I never went onto my bank accounts from this laptop!
All in all, I've been very happy with the laptop.
I bought a mousepad and mouse, as I'm not big on using a touch pad, but with the touch screen, I really didn't need to make that purchase.
The laptop runs a little warm on the left side, but it doesn't seem to affect movies when streaming or playing a DVD. A laptop fan underneath isn't necessary, but I'll probably get one anyway.

Laptop performs well for an inexpensive replacement computer. A bit heavier than I would have liked but then again they can only do so much with the weight and technology when the cost is lower. Haven't had it all that long and I'm not fond of Windows 8 but so far it performs very well for the price. Dell has a good reputation.

I purchased this item to use at a job where I read trivia questions and play music, so I didn't need a laptop with too much power. I happened upon this item at Best Buy, it was in my price range, and it was a touch screen, which I was excited about. The problem with a touch screen is that if you are not used to it, it can be bothersome. After a few weeks, my inadvertent touching of the screen has improved, and I've not ruined any documents. My best advice for this laptop and any laptop is to disable the mousepad on the unit itself, and get a wireless USB mouse.

Good:
Upgradable (I've already added in one 8GB RAM chip to bump it up to 12GB)
Touch-Screen
Long battery life
Numeric Keypad
USB 3.0
Not so good:
1366*768 resolution
Was difficult to get data cloned to my SSD. Finally figured out that I had to boot from USB and set the BIOS to legacy mode.
Don't care for touchpads, I prefer Lenovo/IBMs UltraNav little red dot.
DVD drive makes a noise every now and then, even though there isn't a disk in there... not sure what's trying to access it. Is a DVD drive even necessary anymore? It's just added weight, to me.

Good computer for a college student

The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series computer is a good computer for a student at a fair price. I attend school online and this product is able to access all my podcast and test that I need to take in a short amount of time. The picture quality is quite nice as well. The storage capacity is enough that it will take me through the entire program and I should not have to upgrade. This is my third laptop and it is the best value by far. I would recommend this for the college student who needs a lot of storage and stability at a modest price.

The overall layout and balance of this notebook is amplified by the new gen processor and memory capacity. New Win8.1 and Touchscreen add another dimension of power and versatility. Nicely put together and priced at a bargain.

The wall oven was exactly as I expected but the installation, service and haul away has been an ongoing nightmare!. Numerous sales people and others did what they could for the purchase and after that I spent many hours having to re-do what they originally promised. Had to hire a private installler because they wouldn't amend the cut out by 1/4 inch as anticipated and promised. Took 3 people to change my address in computer and still no schedule for haul away of my old oven. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I Like the option of using the mouse or just the touch screen. It works fast. Set up was easy. Screen size is prefect for me. I Like the way the font can be expanded by just using my finger. I would recommend it. I use it for browsing and photos, and travel with it.

After shopping for close to a year for a Windows laptop in the $400-$600 price range, I stumbled onto this Dell at Best Buy and immediately liked it. The frame is rigid and comfortable. The keyboard is crisp. The screen is above average, touchscreen is a bonus. USB ports are where I like them. RAM is adequate and hard drive capacity is more than enough. Very satisfied with this laptop. It's upgradable to Windows 10 will I will do shortly.

This laptop is lightweight for its size and the touch screen works very well. It has enough power and memory for regular daily use for school work, home office recordkeeping, and personal projects. And the price made it a very good value.

I bought this laptop for my Mother, who is technically challenged. She was able to set it up herself and begin using it immediately. The laptop came with all the software she needed and was less expensive than other stores.

I love my new Dell laptop. The setup was simple and seamless. The touch-screen is a convenient feature. This computer is small enough to transport easily, but the screen is big enough to visualize content with ease.

Easy to set-up. Windows 8 took a while to get use to but ok now. Some things were not real intuitive. Like the ability to use touch screen vs. mouse. I liked it so much I purchased another for a family member

Bought this as an opened box item after reading reviews for product online.
It is a good bargain laptop and fulfills this basic need of checking emails and surfing the web. Haven't played games in it as that was not it's intended purpose.
I have been very happy with it so far, even with having to adjust to the changes associated with Windows 8.

The features and specs are very good for the price of this computer. The 1TB hard drive is a big plus. The only negative is the salesman said the package we purchased came with other items that in fact weren't. Just reinforces my opinion that if you know what you want, Best Buy is fine, but don't go in looking for good and knowledgeable service.
