Loving my deal on a Dell!!

My prior personal laptop suffered a catastrophic, "I don't have a back-up" loss over 2 years ago and I have lamented at the idea of even purchasing another because of the obstacles I went through to recover lost items #re: clean room recovery#, however the time had arrived where smartphones, tablets, work laptops and college libraries could no longer suffice and a purchase was imminent! So online shopping we would go and found this AMAZING Dell! I am LOVING this purchase, and it works wonderfully with my backup storage #lol#! The design is minimalistic and all black in color #a must for me: "fewer distractions"#, the keys are almost flush to the panel yet give a clear, tactile response for every strike, and the touch screen is the BEST I've experienced #more accurate than my iPads# I'm very relieved that this purchase has gone so smoothly #especially for an online purchase#, and I am deeply impressed with the speed and performance to date: the memory keeps up splendidly with my hundred or so open "tabs" #joking###sort of#, and I would put my i3 next to my friend's i7 processor anytime! Solid performance, great quality and impressive looks=excellent deal! Thank you Dell & Best Buy!

    Good computer bad service

The computer works great now that I had all the spy and malware removed. My son opened the box and couldn't wait to use it. When he turned it on pop ups everywhere and they wouldn't stop. Finally was able to run a virus scan and there were several harmful viruses on the computer straight from the box. When you buy a brand new computer you expect it to be virus free. Disgraceful

I enjoyed this computer for about five days. Then the hard drive started having issues and would not run anything. We had to return the computer and ended up purchasing a different brand.

This laptop had trouble loading software programs like outlook, office and roxio. The laptop is supposed to be under warranty for a year. A call for service reached deaf ears. Dell wants you to know that only the hardware is warrantied. Any software issue means you must pay an additional charge. Receiving failure and problem pop ups meant nothing and was never even reason for a service rep to examine. Only after you pay $269 for software issues will they be attended to. After owning the laptop for only a couple days, it was returned.

This laptop was a great value when I purchased it in November 2015 for around $300. It offered a surprising amount of features for the price point and has held up well over the past 3+ years.

Because the CPU is Intel Core i3, when I open several windows, the computer becomes slow. I cannot bear it. The touchable screen is not good idea in laptop.

This has been a good laptop. I have had it for a year and a half now. I deducted a star because a few months ago one of the memory cards died.

This is wayy too heavy and big for a modern day pc. It felt bigger and was heavier than most 15.6 inch pcs.

Its 2 weeks into my new Dell and there have been some small issues where it wouldn't go past the start up screen and had to be restarted. BUT today I have no sound.I checked all the settings to be sure nothing weird had happened. Although I was pretty sure it hadn't. I didn't want a Dell to begin with because the last one I had was a piece of junk. My husband thought this one looked like it had he most bells and whistles. I hope Best Buy will replace or refund.

I purchased this laptop during Black Friday last year because we needed a laptop for the kids. We only use it to surf the web and school projects. So far we haven't had any problems or complaints.

Gotta say I'm pretty surprised how nice this computer is running so far. Setup was pretty standard, took about 30-45 minutes. So far so good. I'm transferring old files via flash drive, I've got a bunch of tabs open in chrome, youtube video running, and everything is still lightening quick while that's all going on. Some quick pro's and cons: Pros: - As I mentioned, so far everything is running in real time. No laggy processing, no hitches switching tab to tab or program to program. - Wireless AC seems to be pretty non-existent on a lot of these entry level laptops, definitely speeds things up. - Touchscreen has 2 bigs advantages. First, which was something I was worried about, you don't need to be within the scroll bar to move pages up and down. What I mean by that is you can touch anywhere on the screen and move it up, down, left, and right, no need to be on the very right of a page. The 2nd advantage is Windows 10. I'd upgraded my last laptop to Windows 10 and I've gotta say the tile design makes a lot more sense with a touchscreen than without. I can link all my email accounts, have access to live weather, and pin whatever else I want for quick access just by tapping the start icon. - Speakers actually aren't that bad for a laptop at this price point. Sound obviously isn't pristine quality, but volume is definitely there if you're looking for it. -I'm counting the display as a plus because of the touchscreen. There's nothing wrong with the display itself, you'll still get HD, just less than 1080p, but you're not going to be blown away by the brightness which could be an issue if you plan on using this outside or in high light areas, but I'm just speculating there. - Seems to run pretty cool. No noticeable hot air coming out of the vents or hot spots underneath after a few hours continuous use. Con's: - Only thing I might knock is battery life. With 5 chrome tabs open, including 1 playing lyric-only youtube music videos and nothing else going on we're at 4:35 remaining for battery life at 97% (50% screen brightness). That's not horrible, but it's not amazing either. Just something to consider if you need to get a lot of daily use out of this without easily accessible charging options. Other than that, I've gotta say, for the Black Friday price, this was a really solid deal, even at normal price I'd still say that's not a bad price to pay for what you get.

I thought buying a 5 year newer laptop would speed things up. Spend a little more $$$ and buy a faster processor. I wish I had!
