Don't worry about Windows S mode ya can just go to Home Prem in 2 minutes no big deal. I work w/TONS of graphics n multitask like a bandit n this PC glides thru like a high speed champ. What an awesomely outstanding deal plus it has so much more then I realized!!!!!

I bought this for school and I can barely get through a single assignment without the battery dying. If you charge it while you use it, the computer and the charger overheat. I lose a TON of time to work on school work because of this. I spent almost $600 on this computer and I honestly am not happy with it. For that much money I expected it to be amazing. My $200 Chromebook has a better battery. It's truly pathetic. Other than the battery and overheating issues, I love it!

We're sorry to hear about the overheating and battery issues that you've had so far. We'd recommend the following tips to help extend the life of your computer's battery:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

The processor is plenty fast to run Serato, and still be able to do other things at the same time. I saved Serato to the 128 SSD so it could access it quicker and it run smoother. The 15.6" screen is perfect as well for me to be able to see the screen better while I am DJ'ing. All in all I am extremely happy with my new Dell laptop. I would highly recommend it for the price as I saw other laptops with less storage and same processor for a higher price tag.

Honestly it was cheap, and the specs seemed pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised when I started to setup the laptop that it was very fast. The screen is a good size and has great contrast and color. The laptop has performed so well with daily productivity work

The casing is cheap and likely to crack. It's a nice-sized laptop and I like that it's touch screen but it doesn't have a DVD player which is a downer. Easy to set up, starts up fast, does come in protected mode so have to disable that if you actually want to be able to use it for anything other than as a paperweight. The lid does get really dirty really easily. Even barely brushing it with clean hands leaves marks everywhere which makes it look nasty and super aged. Honestly, I got myself an i5 (faster) for half the price with twice as much memory and a DVD player. Only difference was it's not a touch screen but that's worth saving over $200 on.

We appreciate your feedback and we're sorry that you're not more satisfied with your new computer. We're glad that you were able to transition your computer out of Windows 'S' Mode and into Windows 10 Home. If you ever need to re-calibrate your computer's touchscreen you can follow these steps:
1. Restart the Computer and the Monitor
2. Go to Control Panel and select Tablet PC Settings.
3. Under Display tab, select Calibrate.
4. Choose Pen or Touch input.
5. Perform the point calibration that appears on the screen to correct the linearity problems.
6. Save the calibrated data.

The 8 gig memory is more than enough to run what I need. I did take it out of S-mode immediately after start up. Installed Webroot antivirus as it seems to be the least evasive when running. Touchscreen an added bonus. We'll see how it stands up 6 months from now.

I used it while working from and waiting on my company laptop. I use for my personal usage and launch my own business (self employment here I come) The only down side is the battery life is shorter than expected. Make sure you’re near an outlet because you’re definitely going to need one.

I don’t think I’ll ever get use to downloading Office 365, but after a few tries where the Microsoft site it was having issues - everything seems to have downloaded fine and works. Great monitor for zoom video calls!

It offered the best of two worlds as I'm not much on using cloud storage. Graphics are good and battery life good as well. I do feel the unit slows a bit on video playbacks and downloads. The unit is lightweight and compact too.

Super easy setup of account, was able to connect to OneDrive & access all the files on my old laptop. Would highly recommend purchasing from Best Buy, simple, easy, fast, & a great value.

The only bad things are that it moves a little slow sometimes (that could be my internet that is the issue), and it does not have a slot for CD roms. Other than that, the touch screen is really cool, and the images come across super clear. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Of course the SSD drive i think makes the laptop works fast though its only 128g it helps a lot plus the 1T hard drive and its already core i3. I think its a fare price and im a fun of dell computers.
