It is window based which I like compared with chrome. The speed is decent for web surfing. It is also a touch screen that helps scroll faster. Overall this laptop is a great computer for its price.

This is a very solid laptop, especially for the money. It is relatively no frills, but that was what we were looking for. Plenty of storage, a decent amount of RAM for what we need it for. The SSD is the default drive, so just be careful of filling it up with files that should really reside on the SATA. But that too is easy to manage. For those complaining about Windows 10 in S mode, it takes 5 seconds to disable. Definitely worth purchasing if you want truly decent specs without the high price tag.

Perfect size to carry back and forth from the office. Large enough for daily zoom meetings with plenty of storage for documents. Touch screen is nice too. Priced right.

    Great Laptop For Online School

Just started my first year of online college and was looking for a laptop that wouldn’t slow down on me or would run out of space as I completed assignments and saved them to my computer. The touch screen is cool but I find i don’t necessarily use it as much. Not a fan of smudges anyhow. I was able to switch out of S mode Immediately after setting it up. The battery does only last about 5 hours before fully dying but I only log into class for about an hour or 2 a day so I can go about 2-3 days before it dies. It does stream well but I only use it for school purposes. The camera quality isn’t bad either. I was skeptical buying it because at the time it had one bad review but it’s been the best decision I made.

We bought two of these for a 6 and 7 year old so that they could do their school work during COVID stay at home. The touch screen, screen size, embedded webcam/headphones jack/mic, solid state drive, and price combined for great value. The 10 key was a great help for math work. The kids were able to get into their online schooling within a minute of startup. They were able to manipulate objects using their fingers. They were able to read smaller print and embedded objects with ease. They were able to engage with friends and teachers using video conferencing software.

Better value and more memory for this particular laptop. There were others that were more expensive but had a smaller screen size and less memory. Plus, this model had a touchscreen. Every now and then I use the touchscreen part but I bought it because the screen is bigger and it had more memory. The customer service team at the Medford Best Buy is second to none and other companies should model their teams after this one. Dealing with the public is difficult at best but overall I will never shop anywhere else for electronics.

It has everything I wanted in a laptop, for a great price. Average size screen with "touch", Intel CPU, lots of memory, and it's a Dell. I'm partial to Dell because they've been good to me. I've had a Dell PC for 10 years and it still is fast and reliable. Best Buy is very honorable as well. I called to say that my computer was the "Deal of the Day" while my unit was in transit. They honored the refund request with no question. I'm very please. Great laptop for student or someone that need it for work. Not for gamers!

This is a very good computer for the price, so far I have had no issues with performance or speed. I don't use this for gaming, I use it for casual internet surfing and video teleconferencing. The camera, microphone and speakers all work as intended and the screen resolution is clear and sharp. It did come with windows 10S, so you have to manually switch it to windows home if you want to add non-Microsoft store apps to the computer. I would recommend this computer to anyone looking for a system for casual use.

although I have only had this Inspiron for a little over 3 weeks oh, I'm extremely satisfied with its performance and capabilities so far! And of course it is a Dell, so reliability and customer service are a given. We'll see how things go, but I have no reason to believe that this won't be a great computer for light business, home computing & recreational browsing for years to come! I don't think you can go wrong when buying this particular Inspiron from Best Buy at this price! Good luck!!!

Have been using this laptop for almost a month, transitioning from another Dell laptop using Windows 7. It's a general-use home computer for email, streaming videos, reading news and newspapers, listening to music, etc. Set up was easy -- on-board instructions walk you through. The transition to Windows 10 S has been pretty easy and smooth. Windows 10 S is a limited version of Windows 10, which was disappointing, but there are simple and basic ways to work around many of the inconveniences. Speakers are adequate, but you might want to add a better speaker for music. Overall, am quite pleased. Please keep in mind that my recommendations regarding quality, value, etc., are based on 3+ weeks of use. I hope it's as good a workhorse as my old Dell laptops, and lasts a long time.

I love this laptop! This is my 2nd Dell and the first is still being used by my son after 5 yrs of use by me. The combination of the 1TB HDD and 128 GB SSD is awesome. It gives you a fast start up/response with the ability to store large amounts of data. You can assign where things are stored. It has a touch screen too, which wasn't a requirement for me but I like it. Overall you can't beat this configuration for an everyday basic/work computer.

It's a great computer but need longer battery life for students who use this computer. After not being plugged in after a few hours need plugin to charge. Not sure why light not bright as when it charging but just tab the computer and it bright up for you. Set up was easy and been using it every day, so far no big problems just simple issue with a easy fix. So if you on a budget I would recommend you get it. Dell are great computers.

Because of COVID-19 and City and County meetings are now being held virtual, I needed something with a TB of harddrive for document storage and I wanted a 15.6in touch screen at least. Researched online for a week and this was the best bang for my buck that I could find. I have not been disapointed with any of its features, and it has worked great with Zoom and WebEx. I do recommend the puchase of an optical mouse for ease of navigation.

So far, I've had an excellent experience with this laptop. My old hp stream died two weeks before the end of the spring semester, and I needed something immediate to finish work. This was one of the only options in my budget that was available for next-day pickup at my local Best Buy, so I had to go with it. I'm no advanced computer expert, but I was looking for something that would have smooth/fast internet browsing, allow me to download and run Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, etc.), and do batelight video streaming without crashing. So far, this laptop has held up excellently through all of that. It also has a touchscreen, which is great. If I were to name any downsides, it would be that the screen size/weight of the laptop is a little big for portability, but considering we aren't going many places right now, that's not a big issue.

I like this Dell laptop because of its fast speed and light. By using the NVMe SSD type (though small capacity 128 Gb but upgradable) that houses Windows OS, it makes a real differences to all of features this laptop offers. All programs run smooth and Windows upgrade is done in no time. The touch-screen is a plus which actually is my preference for the price. Bestbuy is the only one who offers this Dell model at real reasonable price.

This laptop is a good laptop for lighter use, which is what you pay for. Overall I like the look and feel, its light and easy to carry around. Touch screen works well. The system is fast and setup was easy. I use it a couple of times a week mostly for internet browsing. The only thing I wish to be better is the battery. It seems like it needs to be charged every time you start it up. I get a message every time I turn it on that battery is low.

Large storage, latest OS, quick startup and app launch, touch screen, late usb port spec (3.0), hdmi port, digital camera memory card port, full keyboard with number pad, good enough integrated camera and mic, relatively quick wifi/bluetooth pairing, late gen. processor, lightweight and low profile, all make this a steal at this pricepoint. Even above average users will find this a worthwhile purchase.

This laptop is very good. Probably more like a 3.75 star if that was an option. even though this is considered a mid-level processor and the specs are genuinely common with 8 gb of RAM, at this price point it should have a backlit keyboard. There have been several times now where that would have come in handy. On the other side the touchscreen is nice and you even forget that it's there. So far it's been very fast which is great and what is expected of a modern device. Also the Dell support app on the device doesn't seem to be connecting several times now. When it does a hardware check it has an error. I'm also experiencing a screen flicker once in awhile. The drivers have been updated so I don't know what that is. I haven't called Dell support yet but I think I might have to. I also I see that the price went down $50 today. so with not being fully satisfied that takeva a bit more from the experience. It's a nice device I think it's a good computer for a very basic stuff and probably some light gaming if someone does game, however with the couple of snafus and the lower price now all of a sudden just over a week after I received it, it leaves a slight bad taste.
