Hoping I jonly got a defective productive

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I first started up the laptop, I noticed right away that there was an annoying, bright spot at the top of my screen whenever the screen was dark or playing a video that was dark. Also, the bluetooth connection on this laptop is terrible. I previously had a Dell Inspiron that was 4 years older than this laptop with pretty much the same specs but without the 4K. However, I was able to walk downstairs and still maintain a decent bluetooth connection with my headphones. Now, with this laptop, I can't even walk 10 feet to the bathroom without my headphones completely losing connection. The touchpad also freezes up occasionally although it doesn't bother me as much since I use a mouse anyway. However, that still isn't a good sign for what should be a premium laptop. I am exchanging the model and giving it one more try before I change my star to a "1".

If you'd like to re-calibrate your touchpad you can follow these steps:
Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

Takes about an instant to boot up and shut down. Big improvement from my last dell inspiron (7 yrs ago) which took forever to boot up/shut down. Not a lot of bloat ware. Face Recognition and Fingerprint are a great feature. Beautiful screen. Key board easy to see, unlike those silver ones, and has a great feel. Been using for zoom meetings, great video/audio. Definitely glad I bought it and recommend it to others. Bought it on sale- excellent deal on BestBuy

The laptop is currently somewhere in Kentucky at a repair facility. All in all, I would say that during the three days when we got to enjoy and explore what this laptop could do, it seemed to work just fine.

They told me it would cost about $200 more to buy the same computer so I tried the recommendation by the sales clerk. Same price. It's not state of the art but it will do for a while. Daughter is using it since the apple computer was glitching. (this is after 2 years)- We had a warranty for that one.

I bought it for college and I am really enjoying it so far! It has fantastic picture quality and surprisingly good audio quality! Seems to do everything that I need it to do! I also love how the stylus can be so easily stored whether the laptop is open or closed! Never have to worry about losing it! My only complaint would be the battery life. It usually lasts about 5-6 hours. I feel very confident in this purchase!
