After trying different laptops, this laptop is awesome. It's super fast, reliable, and easy to use. The only change I would make is a numeric keypad.

I have not experienced one issue with my computer to date. The battery life is sufficient, the programs run efficiently, and, for the size of the computer, it is light weight/slim. After years of using Apple brand computers, I am happy am transitioned back to Windows. I recommend this Dell computer for any basic to almost advanced basic computing needs.

Very nice big 2 in 1

I bought this machine to replace an old, near dead Lenovo laptop I have. I wanted a 2 in 1 because I like my work Lenovo Yoga 12 a lot. I chose this dell based on features for the price, and the positive reviews. After using this for a few days I can say I am quite pleased. It is nice looking and extremely fast. It's sleek and not terribly heavy, although much bigger than smaller screened units. For a 15.6, it feels about right. I'm actually surprised at how thin it is. My only gripe would be its lack of proper touch pad drivers; it forces the windows built in drivers on you and will not allow a proprietary driver (Synoptics, Dell, etc.) to install so I'm not actually sure who makes the touchpad. This issue for me is that I prefer one finger scrolling over two finger, but the latter is forced on me with this unit. Something I'll have to get used to and it's not a deal breaker. Just a stupid oversight in my opinion. Secondly, the keyboard is smallish given how much space there is. Would be nice to use all that extra space around the keyboard for a larger footprint. Maybe the insides prohibit this but it's noticeable. Overall I like this unit and is well worth the $850 I paid for it.

This was a gift to replace another laptop. The 2 in 1 feature is a bonus and works well. The computer itself is superb. It's fast enough to meet my needs and the screen is great for watching videos. The only downside is that it comes with Windows 10, an operating system that I detest. Still I would readily recommend this product to a friend.

I needed a new laptop that had a touch screen, enough storage and fast for my personal and future business use. It also had to live thru travelling, so i chose a laptop with an ssd hard drive. The Dell Inspiron was perfect for me and the help i received helped me understand the differences in laptops and make a wise and educated decision.

I've had this laptop now for a month or so and have been pleased with it. The SSD storage does make it quieter, cooler, and with much faster startup than my previous computer with a conventional hard drive. It was easy to start using straight out of the box. I bought it on sale at a good price relative to similar machines on line. The sales rep was very helpful in guiding me to where the machines with what I wanted were located and pointing out details that I might not have noticed. I'm sorry to have had to move from Windows 7 to 10, but there's not much I can do about that. I also wish this computer had a numeric key pad, but I don't mind too much that it doesn't since when I'm not traveling I have it connected to a standard keyboard with one. It's disappointing to me that hardly any laptops (including this one) now come with a CD/DVD drive, but I was able to easily connect an inexpensive external one. I would also have appreciated more USB ports and an ethernet port to avoid having to connect an extension to create them.

I've had a laptop and I've had a tablet, so why not one with features of both. The touchscreen is useful when you're tired of messing with the touchpad. It is a bit large to use as a tablet, but big screen is useful for video, and folding the screen so it sits upright is nice for recipe reference in the kitchen. Wasn't quite sure about "Microsoft Hello" at first. Thinking it can't possibly be secure. But it doesn't recognize me with my glasses off, so it is reasonably sensitive. Though I'm sure some will find that annoying. Haven't tried it yet, but I guess you can configure it for new glasses or yourself with or without glasses. So it does seem to be adaptable. Laptop is quick enough, and has decent hard drive space. Wish the keys were a bit closer to the front rather than the monitor, but otherwise decent setup. It does feel solidly built, and the ability to protect the screen by closing it like a laptop is definitely a step above a tablet. One thing to keep in mind...it only comes with a trial version of MS Office, so be prepared to pay more for software or subscribe to 365.

Bought this laptop to replace an aging Macbook. The construction is solid, with a strong but light aluminum body. Despite the metal body, the laptop is relatively light. There are lighter machines out there, but this is fine. I quickly installed Ubuntu with no issues. The machine now dual-boots into Linux or Win10. And,..with the SSD drive the boot process is very fast. The one thing I don't love is the keyboard. The layout is a bit clunky and the keys not quite as responsive as I'd like. That said, I've gotten used to it and would recommend this laptop as likely the best sub-$1,000 15" laptop on the market right now.

I love this machine, it's super fast, the screen is just the right size, (i had an XPS 13) but this machine is a real competitor in the space, it boots up really fast and the full size keyboard is a plus, and the foldable design to be use like a tablet!! are you kidding me...

This Dell Starlord laptop is fast and quiet. The solid state drive is my first experience with ssd. Very impressive runs fast, quiet and cool. Add to that the thin profile and clean brushed aluminum surface, very nice. Plus caught this on sale $200 off. I am very pleased.

Dell - Inspiron 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 12GB Memory - 512GB Solid State Drive computer is fast & lighter in weight than my old one. Love the solid state drive. Quieter than a non SSD laptop.

Large clear touch screen. Excellent value - intel i7 gen 7 processor and new generation ssd makes this a speedy pc. Only thing I miss is built in Ethernet the unit is so thin they couldn't put an Ethernet port on the unit. Could use a few more usb ports - easily fixed with a USB 3.0 hub.

I'm very happy with my Dell. I researched computers for months and this is what I chose over all the other brands. I love the SSD, it boots up so fast. The I7 is a powerhouse and I'm giddy with excitement over the 12 GB Ram because most only have 8 GB. This computer is completely silent 99% of the time. I only hear the fan when it downloads updates and trust me, it is whisper quiet. I wish it had a numeric keypad. I bought an external DVD drive since it didn't come with that either, but then again, most computers now a days don't have them. The keyboard took a little while to get used, the keys are very shallow compared to my old laptop, but I can still type comfortably on it. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this computer. I'm so glad I bought it!

I purchased this computer to replace a 5-year old Dell Inspiron laptop that served me well but was slow as molasses for reasons I couldn't determine. The new computer is like night and day compared to the old one. It boots up unbelievably fast and seems to do everything at least three times as fast as the old one. Windows 10 never worked quite right on the old computer, but it does what they claim on the new one. I am told that the solid state drive is primarily responsible for the speed. I have less hard drive storage than before, but I no longer need it because I'm now using Microsoft's OneDrive Cloud Storage, which I understand is safer and eliminates the need to backup as often. Overall, I think this laptop is a great value and I am thoroughly impressed.

This computer is fast! The store clerk showed us the reboot time compared to the one next to it and that was the evidence right there! Although it seems to have wasted space on the keyboard section that could've been better used by adding the number keys built in to the side. Its very light and thin as well. This is our 3rd or 4th Dell computer in the household. Its super easy to use (unlike a previous Lenovo we purchased a few years ago with the updated version of Windows at the time - needless to say, we opened it approx 2 times and took it back to receive a credit towards this purchase. We went into the store ready to purchase the Macbook and were pleasantly surprised with this instead. Don't regret it at all. Would definitely recommend this computer.
