So Disappointed - A Complete Dud

I purchased this computer yesterday and it has been a frustrating disappointment. It froze twice during set up. Since then it has frozen another 7 or 8 times. Given the specs (12 GB RAM, 6th Gen i5 processor), I thought it would be a fast, high preforming computer. Video quality is poor (slow, blurred), and internet speed is slow as well. Unfortunately, I am probably going to have to spend a little more to get the quality I want.

Wouldn't get past the ePSA startup check

First, I did not buy this for myself, I helped my girlfriend in finding a computer for her 80 year old father who just wants a simple computer for small games and the internet. I told her she needed at least a core I5 processor and a 1 terabyte hard drive. So this was the best deal on Best Buy at the time. Which was just a few days ago. All it would do was the pre startup test which is the ePSA. At the end of the test it would ask if you would like to exit and reboot, after clicking yes it would reboot and do the test all over again. We did this about 6 or 7 times and never got the thing to boot up correctly. My girlfriend called Dell support and they told her that the operating support system was going to have to be reinstalled and that it would cost her $250 to fix a computer that was brand new and had never booted correctly one time. She told him that she would just take it back to Best Buy and exchange it, he said the traded one might have problems too. She said he laughed when she said she would just get another brand and said, "Who's to say the other brand won't mess up too". So, the next day she went back to Best Buy and exchanged the Dell for a Lenovo. Best Buy was good to her, not Dell and their support, so I have to give it 1 star because of them and the fact that the computer never even booted to see how good it was.

Had to purchase two computers within two weeks to replace old ones at work. This one was very easy to set up-it just walked you right through. Had no issues connecting to printers and wireless.

Decent For Work... Not Much For Gaming

I found this computer decent for whatever its ok for gaming and its ok for work i'm 14 and was looking for a computer for doing school work but mostly talking with friends and playing video games. This computer is real good for online gaming and school work but not so much for client gaming. You can play games such as minecraft and a little bit higher. I downloaded some games and was not so happy with the results it was supper choppy and laggy (It had very low fps) until i turned my quality on low and it ran well lets just say ok... Also the mouse and keyboard are pretty bad. For all those parents out their that are buying computers for their kids... Don't buy this one your kid will most likely be very disappointing in the gaming experience they are most likely looking for... If your buying your kid a computer buy him/her a gaming pc. If you have any questions ask me.

    Sweet Deal on Desktop

My old desktop died and I just missed another sale on this configuration, but decided to wait. I went for my free birthday dinner at Mongolian Grill and decided to stop by and it was on sale again. All this horsepower at a bargain price was a No-Brainer and it is running sweet with my 32" TV as a monitor for major workspace.

    Crash...Crash...Crash

I was excited about this computer and thought we'd be long term buddies. However, it crashes 4-8 times a day. It crashes when I am in a Word Doc. It crashes when I watch a simple youtube video. Sometimes I won't even be at it when it crashes. I've used for 11 days and today it will be heading back to the store. Hopefully, I won't have to pay a restocking fee. Something seems to be internally wrong. Stay away!

    Disappointed

Spec's looked good, but had a DOA failure of the on-board sound. A previous experience with a Best Buy return after a few days was a disaster because things were now removed from the packaging. Duh. Of course, they would want to try and fix it, putting a corporate workstation down for some time, so I just opted to purchase a sound adapter from Amazon. Bottom line is that quality from companies like Dell is now no better than any other computer assembler.
