I bought this refurbished laptop from Best Buy for about $400 dollars. There were problems with it right away. The CD DVD drive did not work. The battery only charged to 60%. The computer crashed with a blue screen after 10 to 30 minutes of use. I ran a memory test and the software said there were problems with the memory. I took it back to Best Buy and they gave me a refund. I then bought another Dell laptop from Staples. Great return policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very upset. There was no webcam as in the specs it says there’s is. Supposed to be 64 bit but it was 32 bit. Never buy refurbished again.

I was skeptical to purchase a refurbished laptop, but did not want to pay $1,000 plus for a new one. After much research, I believed the 16 GB Dell Latitude E6430 was a great deal at $394. The laptop looked new right out of the box and was well packed. The 16 GB of RAM and the solid state hard drive are both great. After experiencing a solid state hard drive, it would be difficult to go back to the traditional hard drive. The machine boots up in seconds and there is no noise from the HD. The instructions provided by Joy Systems - an authorized Microsoft refurbisher - were spot on. The set-up was easy and straight forward. The one year warranty - the same as a new laptop - gives me peace of mind. Best Buy will not sell an extended warranty on this product but Square Trade does. I have had the computer for a week and the typical functions have been top notch (running on battery power; surfing the internet; emails; running PowerPoints with many imbedded videos; using Word; and projecting the video to a television). The negatives - the audio jack is loose (plug-ins do not fit snuggly); the screen resolution is not as sharp as new laptops (it is fine - very readable - but not vivid colors); and I could not figure out how to get the audio from a live stream to play through the television speakers. I'm sure that more research will solve the latter issue. I would not hesitate to purchase another refurbished laptop from Best Buy/Joy Systems - it seems to be a great value to me with little risk since the cash outlay is not that much and the one year warranty will cover the major problems.
