Great computer for the amount of $$ spent

The prime reason I bought this laptop was that I felt like I was getting a good deal based on the specifications. of the price. Many people might shy away from buying a refurb computer because they don't want to buy something that is used. What they don't realize is that in order for something to be declared a refurb, all of the parts have to work like they're brand new & if they don't then they are replaced. So, in essence, you're getting a brand new computer, but legally the merchant cannot call it new. Okay, now on to my comments. If you're looking for a computer to use to surf the net, watch videos, message people, & other similar things & you don't want to pay a lot of $$ then this computer will work just fine. This laptop has... • 1 Ethernet port • VGA port • port for your headphones • 3 USB ports (not sure if they're 2.0 or 3.0) • 1 HDMI port • 1 eSATA port • 1 port for SD card • Bluetooth No, it does not have a webcam, but the computer quickly my Logitech HD webcam when I plugged it into the USB. The keyboard does not have a back-light underneath the keys which some may find annoying. There is a small circular thing in the lower portion of the G & H keys that allows you to move the mouse around & there are three buttons directly below the keyboard so all of this is something you can use as an alternative to the touchpad which I HATE using. And of course, there is a touchpad. Sometimes the touchpad works & sometimes it does not. Not sure why & I don't care b/c I use a USB or wireless mouse. Oh & there is a volume up, down, & mute buttons to the right of the keyboard. The clarity of the screen is great. Has an awesome graphics card. It basically does what I need it to. If you have any questions, let me know!

DO NOT BUY Refurbished laptops from Best buy

I never thought best buy will sell this kind of junk, the laptop was in a bad condition, battery did not hold power for more than 10 min, camera was not working, mouse pad was not responsive once connected the laptop to power cord, even CD player was rusted from inside. This kind of business should be investigated, this is not acceptable and wast of people time and money.

laptop came with dvd drive and hard disc drive improperly installed, had to reinsert the dvd drive 30 times before the BIOS could recognize, had to purchase windows 10 flash drive from Microsoft, because Windows 10 license wasn't valid, and internal hardware doesn't support Windows 10 (Drivers don't work) had to purchase windows 7 license to reinstall Windows 7, Five reinstalls of Windows 7 to get properly functioning, and Dynamic Library error, Suffered with all day and now, fully working

This is a very solid laptop from the Dell Latitude business line with all the horsepower I need, at a fraction of what similar new Latitude models are currently selling for. I have already installed all my programs and it is clearly a highly performing piece of machinery. The reason I only gave it four stars is that when I went on a Zoom conference I was surprised to find that it does not have a WebCam, despite the presence of a camera being listed in the specifications on the Best Buy listing. I sent an email to the refurbishing company, Joy Systems, and they got right back to me indicating this product does not have a webcam and that i would have to take it up with the seller. i found it impossible to get through to Best Buy. The store i bought it at did not answer the phone and referred me to the national line. The national line referred me to the Geek Squad, which told me they only deal with paid service contracts and I would have to pay them to look at this issue. The unit itself deserves five stars but I took one off because of the current dysfunctional staff of Best Buy in Its inaccurate web listing and lack of availability of anyone to talk to. If anybody from Best Buy reads this you should adjust the web listing, and possibly attach a link to a good basic cheap WebCam to the product description I like this unit so much that I am going to keep it anyway. I have ordered an inexpensive WebCam which I will attach whenever I to videoconferencing.

I have purchased several of these laptops in this manner and have never been disappointed. Like with all your computer purchases, My best advise is to make sure to know exactly what your needing your computer to do and what you expect from it and have a good working knowledge of hardware and software before you make any expensive electronics purchase. With that being said, I bid you good luck in your ventures.

Had to return this. On arrival, the machine did not have an activated copy of Windows 10. After a lengthy chat troubleshooting attempt and a transfer to 'someone who could surely help', they said to bring it to a store. The geek squad at the store said, "It's fixed." But it wasn't. A second trip back to the store. Geek Squad again said, "It's fixed". It wasn't. A second lengthy chat attempt, this time with transfer to 2 more technicians and they said we had to read the serial number and get tech support from Dell. Online with the Dell site and the warranty was expired so they would help if I gave them a credit card. Oh- by the way, according to the documentation, this PC does not support Windows 10. I spend about 20 hours on this before giving up. I've always had good response from Best Buy. I've no idea what happened this time.

I thought buying a refurbished laptop from Best Buy is okay but this laptop has battery issues from first day. The charger provided in the pack was a replacement model (not the original one from Dell). God knows which other parts of the laptop are old/used/poor branded ones. Battery does not charge to 100% ever even when constantly connected to power source. Would never buy a refurbished a laptop again.

Fair price. Purchased for 12 year old grandson. Used heavily after pandemic. Hard drive failed after 11 months. Geek Squad recommended not to invest $$ even though I had Tech support agreement. I would have had to buy hard drive $70, repairs would take 2 weeks. Probable more problems to come.

The price I feel was not a "refurbished" price. They loaded Windows 10 but did not tell me I had to purchase the license for it. Therefore, I had to pay $200 in addition to the price of the laptop. I paid $500+ for a "refurbished" laptop. Extremely dissatisfied.

Thanks for your review and we're sorry that the setup of your refurbished computer is not going as smoothly as you hoped it would. We'd recommend following up with Best Buy about the Windows version that was installed on your computer when you purchased it: http://bit.ly/2v2IVhI.

The worst laptop I have ever owned, it wouldn't even let me put in my e-mails. I thought since this laptop was refurbished that it would run excellent.I was definitely wrong, it would not log into my college courses, and would not even let me delete my information before I exchanged it. Word to the wise STAY AWAY

      Ivan,

Thanks for your review. We're sorry that your computer is slower than you hoped it would be. We'd recommend running the Windows Performance Troubleshooter to see if there are ways to speed up your computer:

      1. Close all open windows.
      2. Press the Windows logo key + X key on the keyboard.
      3. Click Control Panel.
      4. Click System and Security.
      5. Under Security and Maintenance, select Troubleshoot common problems.
      6. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.
      7. Follow the on-screen instructions and prompts to complete the process.
      8. Restart the PC.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tSulGV.

If your computer is still operating loudly, we'd recommend trying to update the BIOS on your computer:

An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.
