This laptop is very slim and light. It maximizes the screen by stretching all the way to the edge, which makes this laptop stand out among its competitors. The biggest knock on its design is the webcam placement because it's at the bottom left corner. There were some software issues with the audio, and fixing it was a little tedious. Dell sometimes has issues with its software drivers.

Before reading further, keep in mind that I only had this laptop for a week and then returned it for an upgraded version. I thought everything about this computer was excellent. While reading other reviews, some people mentioned a buzzing sound that was unbearable, however that was not the case with the model I had. Battery life was unreal, screen quality was superb, keyboard was excellent. My one concern was the track pad. The cursor would occasionally jump, click, or zoom in on web pages, but it wasn't so often that it was annoying. Overall I was pleased with Dells XPS 13.

About $500 cheaper than a Mac equivalent laptop, the XPS13 has been absolutely everything I wanted it to be. Fast, light, sleek, and fun to use.

I read many reviews before I buy this product and most of them are rather accurate except for the small little things such as the touch mouse and the software. The mouse is not as premium as I anticipated. sometimes freeze even after I upgrade the driver. But I am not sure if this is hardware or software issue. Window 10 still has plenty of bugs as well. some is not working such as outlook integration with gmail, notification does not disappear, etc. overall, it is one of the best window machine and decent value experience. GREAT screen. i hope Apple taking the notice and make their screen like this. The camera can be improve significantly. But i am not sure if I will be using it often.

The battery life is amazingly long! When I set the brightness to around 20 to 30% with only Google chrome and Microsoft word open, i can get at least 9 hours of battery. Which is perfect for students like myself. So i don't have to carry a charger around and go crazy on looking for an outlet. I can get though a whole day of light usage without charging and only charge when i go to sleep. Yes, the web-camera is at a weird place, which located at the lower left edge of the screen. It is best not to type when you are video chatting with someone because your hand will be huge. But can be solved easily with a Bluetooth keyboard. The mouse-pad is alright. Kind of small but usable. change mouse setting to your preference. The keyboard is what you expected in a 13 in laptop. I get used to it after one or two day. The screen is very good with very high brightness. The speaker is great. It is located on the right and left side of the laptop. The laptop is very light and it has a very stylish design. The only down side is there are only two USB, which is not a lot. It would be best to buy Bluetooth connected device if you are planning to use wireless mouse or keyboard. In addition, there are not HDMI or Ethernet. You have to buy a dell adapter for that which would cost around 50 to 70 dollars.

Dell Warranty and CS less than bad

To be clear, No issues with Best Buy. I used to consider Dell as a top name brand for any laptop or PC. No longer. Purchased an XPS 13 and the keyboard and mouse pad quit working less than a year after purchase and still under warranty. Spent endless hours on the phone with DELL CS before their remote access troubleshooting resulted in completely disabling my access. Shipped the laptop to the DELL repair facility only to have the technician determine the motherboard was bad and not in stock. Really? Ok, waited 3 weeks for repair. DELL CS stated they received the part and it was in repair only to turn around and state they did not have the part and would return it unrepaired to me since they didn't know when it would be available. Negotiated to have a replacement laptop provided which they agreed to. It never happened and they simply shipped the original laptop back with no explanation. It didn't matter that I was polite, patiently waited while on hold for extensive periods of time with their CS in hopes of resolving this issue. Hate to be discouraging but I would consider other options before ever purchasing another DELL product. Sad to see what was once a great company get to this point. And don't expect to find any direct support from anyone at DELL in the US. They are not available or willing to speak with you. You will always be redirected to their off-shore call centers which can offer very little except a scripted response and process flow to handle your concerns until you are worn down. Good luck if you wish to take the chance.
