This laptop is a continuation of Dell’s experiment in design which started with the 13” XPS. It’s now incorporated into the new XPS 14 and 16 models, and it’s aimed right at the MacBook Pro in design and layout. Having owned more than one XPS in the past, I was interested in seeing if the new design was an improvement.
As for a while, the exterior is the same sleek, and thin design that’s been used for several years with mostly the same ports. Three thunderbolt, headphone jack, but the full-sized SD slot has been replaced with a micro SD slot. However, once you open the lid, the changes are dramatic. There’s no discrete track pad since it is integrated into the seamless glass bottom panel. The top row of keys has been replaced with illuminated, touch sensitive capacitive “buttons”. The keyboard has no lattice separating the large, short throw keys with a dedicated Copilot key. The screen choices remain the same. An excellent FHD or upgrade to the beautiful 3.2K OLED touchscreen. The build quality continues to be world class. It’s sleek; it’s minimalist; and it’s in a class of its own.
My unit was the Intel EVO edition. It has an Intel Ultra 7 processor (AI optimized), an OLED screen, 32 GB of ram, and onboard Intel Arc graphics. Without the optional discrete NVIDIA graphics, don’t expect this to be a gaming machine. Even though the screen is capable of 120 hz refresh, the ARC graphics just can’t keep up with modern games. Make sure you buy one setup as you wish because the graphics and ram are soldered in and not upgradable.
As far as my likes and dislikes with the changes, there are several of each. The look is sexy and eye catching. The build, as mentioned, is superb. I like the slightly smaller screen and weight compared to the 15” models it replaces. The EVO edition has the nearly instant start from sleep that required. I wish they had kept the full-sized SD slot since that’s the standard for digital cameras. The enclosed dongle includes a USB A and HDMI port, but you’ll need another one to read full-size SD’s. I had no problems with the invisible trackpad, but the keyboard takes some getting used to. This is especially the case since some often used keys are now in the top, “non-key” row (esc, home, end, Insert, and delete).
It's a great laptop, but it’s going to be a personal choice. You may love the changes. You might not.

I really like this laptop! The touch screen is a fantastic feature—responsive and smooth, making navigation super easy. The OLED display is stunning, with vibrant colors and sharp resolution. Performance has been excellent so far with no issues at all. It’s fast, reliable, and handles multitasking with ease thanks to the 32GB of memory and 1TB SSD. Definitely a great choice for both work and entertainment!

Great Laptop PC for my Home Office

The Dell XPS with 14.5 inch screen 3.2 OLED Touch Laptop Intel Core Ultra 7 Evo Edition. This is a very nice sleek looking laptop that can handle all of my home office programs without crashing. This Dell XPS has touch screen but is not pen compatible. It is equipped with Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and runs Windows 11 Home. It has 32GB memory and 512GB of SSD storage. It has three Lightning USB-C ports, two on the left side and one on the right. A headphone/headset jack is also located on the right. It is equipped with a platinum backlit English Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader. Like most PC's that runs Windows it has a trial of Microsoft Office and a year of McAfee Antivirus included.
This 14.5 inch Dell XPS runs all of my applications that I need for my small business. I use Adobe creative cloud which includes Lightroom, and Photoshop. I use Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity Photo 2 for designing and such. I also have Silhouette Studio Business Edition installed on this laptop. I can have all of these applications open and running with not one single problem. It's a win for me. Highly recommend.

Honestly I love the performance of this laptop. Ultra 7 and 32gb of RAM is a machine for Office use, I have all my Microsoft Suites open plus Spotify and some chrome tabs open(like 6 apps) running simultaneously. I love the OLED screen when Im watching my shows too, battery life is something they could do better. With continues use it lasted las 5 hours. Over all I do recommend this laptop for office or college/university use.

Bought this on impulse after my other Dell battery died while on a business trip. I hate the keyboard, keys are too close together, they are not raised so typos galore. Would also be nice if they included just one old school USB (all three are USB-C), but that's what adaptors are for. Other than that the performance is great.

This laptop is fast. Screen is beautiful. I don't understand how anyone can have under 32GB of memory anymore so this laptop is essential for experiencing the best performance in all your apps including web browsing.

I enjoy this computer. It's powerful! I would say that I use it mostly with a docking station and don't exactly enjoy some of it's sleekier functions . . . like it's weird to do ctrl+alt+del when the Del key is not a key but a touch button. Also, the trackpad is not defined which is weird. And I don't think I have yet to figure out how to print screen with the laptop. lol But it's a solid computer on speed/power

Perfect speed for my needs and OLED display is gorgeous. I didnt need the RTX graphics card so configuration perfect for me while saving money.
The key board has a good feel, but in low light the keyboard marking is not easily visible when backlight is not on.
Good speed for photo editing. Construction feels solid for travel. It is pricey, but best buy had a sale making it acceptable.

I really like this look — and find that it looks very modern. That said, I get why others don't. The lack of markings for the touchpad means that indeed you might find that you occasionally put your finger down in an area that's not touch sensitive, but as I used the laptop, I found that I got used to the position of the touchpad and didn't mind the lack of visual markings at all.

The laptop itself is excellent—fast processing, strong battery life, and great color and graphics. However, during purchase the checkout process felt rushed, and I was signed up for a membership without a clear explanation of the fee.

Purchased laptop as an Open Box in Excellent condition, first time around it wasn't in excellent condition and had trouble updating. Thought I'd try it again and 2nd one was indeed in excellent condition. It was a great price and works well. Love the light weight and battery time. OLED touch screen makes using touch pad or mouse obsolete!
