    NEVER BUY OPEN BOX

After two months of purchasing this allegedly "excellent" open-box, I started facing dozens of blue screens and forced restarts a day. Best Buy apparently wanted to offload a faulty or damaged unit without letting anyone know about the issues it was facing. Best Buy's customer service treated me like absolute garbage concerning the shipping process, so I wrote off ever getting any help from them once the computer started showing frequent issues conveniently just outside of the 30-day refund window. The only warranty they provided is Dell "Premium Support" which has dragged me around for the last 6 months on wild goose chase distractions and gaslighting--enough so that the local repairman who was sent out for a second time took enough pity on me to explain to me that this particular model seems to have had a batch shipped out with bad motherboards and he sees it all the time. He instructed me to take a picture of some specs and relay this to the Dell support carousel. Then he said if I was lucky enough for them to not dodge having the motherboard replaced or "finding no problems" when I ship it off for repairs, I should still probably sell it. But it seems like pretty shady practice for Dell Premium Support to be designed to be nearly impossible to obtain a working computer or replacement before my "warranty" period runs out. I wouldn't recommend Best Buy open box to anyone because this unit is proof that they will absolutely sell you a broken "top-of-the-line" computer and attach no responsibility except for another company's customer service that is designed to be a time-waste. They will call you multiple times and have to take remote control of your (broken, constantly blue-screening) computer, and then they will absolutely gaslight you and pretend like they restarted the computer when it actually just crashed again. Or they will try to blame a crash on a browser that the both of you just watched the technician uninstall and so therefore couldn't be the culprit. And they will string you along while they type your computer's symptoms into a search engine and read about the same things you have probably already searched. And you'll have to do this at least a dozen times before they actually start making any real effort. At this point they will stall any way they can, including requiring you to select a two-hour period to receive their call, which they always conveniently miss by an hour. And this is the only way to progress, even if you provide pictures of blue screens and minidump files, until you have to ask for the situation to be escalated almost a dozen times. At which point they will keep telling you for months that the "escalation team" is fully aware and remediation is always one step away, until you go over-9000 Karen. Just don't buy open box because it is probably slimmer odds of getting anything "excellent" than you're hoping And apparently you shouldn't buy Dell unless you get the 3rd tier support--yes, apparently "Premium Support" is the middle tier. I shudder to think what the base level is like because this has been one of the most stressful and mentally taxing experiences I've ever had. It shouldn't be hard for Dell--or more justifiably Best Buy--to send out a replica or even an upgrade when you are providing a constant stream of evidence of blue screens. It's ridiculous that I paid nearly 2K for a machine and I have had to endure 6 months of gaslighting and stalling, which seems designed to run out the clock and take no accountability for the manufacturing fault or damage incurred when Best Buy "opened the box"--I'm sure there's no way this computer wasn't sitting around as a floor model until it started blue screening and couldn't keep up appearances anymore. Every time they tweak the system settings, every time they blame a browser, or a certain program, or drivers, or a BIOS update, is a cover for the real aim--kicking the can down the road a couple of days or weeks. I'm lucky enough to not be drastically affected by this immediately, but imagine if you needed this computer for your livelihood and it was blue screening dozens of times a day. Would you think it would be acceptable to spend 6 months being put on hold while your career goes down the drain?

I was due for an upgrade from my old laptop, and this machine has not disappointed! I also bought the recommended docking station and was up within an hour after running updates and hooking my monitors up to the docking station. This machine is lightening fast and I can run multiple instances of Visual Studio, SQL Server, and many Chrome tabs without it ever skipping a beat. I’d HIGHLY recommend this machine!

I choose this model over the newer Dell XPS 15, because it was easier to upgrade with an extra SSD and Ram bought from Amazon than the newer model. This allowed me to save a lot of money for a more robust system. Also, I did not like the newer model having the function keys row outside the keyboard just for a fancier look. This laptop is pricey, but I can use it as a true desktop replacement. Great display size and resolution. It looks professional, beautiful, and feels sturdy. It is a bit heavier than other 15 inches laptops, but my experience with previous XPS for Dell is that they greatly outlast other cheaper options, not only because they resist the pass of time very well, but I have noticed that after 4 or 5 years of use, they keep up really well with technology changes. To make things better, we also got 36 months no interest payments because we bundled this purchase with a refrigerator that we got at the same time, which made the purchase smoother. I recommend this product.

This is my second Dell in 4 years, purchased for/by my employer. I love the touch screen! My only criticism is that I wish the battery life were a little longer (about 3 hours). But overall, a good purchase and )I would buy another down the road when the time comes.

An awesome piece of hardware - makes my old laptop look like a Model T. Facial recognition for login is new to me but it is flawless - with glasses, with reading glasses, without glasses it still knows me. I've always loved Intel processors and this one is no exception - awesome speed.

Amazing laptop overall. Solid display, performance and design. However I wasn’t too happy with the trackpad, it’s good but not as good as a MacBook. I would recommend if you’re a windows user, I think this was the best hardware for a windows laptop there’s out there specially for business use.

I purchased this laptop to finally replace my old HP Notebook 15 and this laptop has shown me the wonders of the tech world. I am very happy to have the opportunity to use this computer. l have had no issues whatsoever, not so much annoying bloatware. Was very easy to set up and very fast. The fans and speakers work amazingly. Only con was the lack of ports, but it can be made up for by purchasing a docker.

I have to say that this laptop is absolutely incredible. I have never personally had a laptop that is this fast and powerful. I always stick with Dell laptops because they are built the best even though they cost a little bit more than others, and this one for sure did not disappoint me.

The XPS 15 is the last bastion of an age of non arm based processors. OLED screen, 32 GB of ram, 1 TB. I bought this version purely because of these things and the F1 Keys. The new XPS lineup has been massacred with the removal of the Function keys.

This laptop is a great preformer. Can open and edit multiple documents while actively managing a zoom meeting. There is no loss of productivity because of inferior performance. The speakers and video provide excellent quality when watching a movie or just listening to music.

A very capable laptop and a great replacement for my old PC workstation. It's everything I expected the Surface Pro to be when I made the mistake of buying that battery crippled machine. Unfortunately, it takes some serious effort to keep Microsoft 11 in check. It absolutely wants you to use "the Cloud" and become one with the Borg.

The initial laptop purchased ran into a touchscreen issue within a week and had multiple Bluetooth connection issues...although the connection issues may have been software related and not the laptop itself. Due to the touchscreen issue, the laptop was replaced. The process took 6 hours due to an OS crash during the restore, along with a slow network connection to complete the updates. The replacement laptop seems to function much better than the original, and for paying over $2k I would expect much better initial quality. Hopefully it was a fluke and this lasts a long time. If you don't need a touchscreen, get a gaming laptop!
