I love my laptop it does exactly what it says it will do!

I read lots of reviews and saw some great reviews and some poor reviews. The materials and attention to the external make up of this machine made me really want this laptop to be a stand-out product. Unfortunately the wifi continually dropped and reset every minute or two. No USB 3 to Ethernet or thunderbolt to Ethernet cable is provided so impossible to even update the drivers. I would rate this machine as garbage right out of the box. Dell support was zero help. They said this was a software problem and I would have to pay them $199 for software support --- for software they installed that does not work. I this would have been my fourth Dell machine, but given this experience, my failing Dell desktop will be my last Dell. It looks like Dell's business model has changed, not in favor of the customer. I would look to other manufactures for your next machine, as I now plan to do

Sadly, this computer has a firmware issue as the BIOS has compatibility problems with intel video drivers. This makes the screen flicker and it is a big issue for a premium computer.

Purchased this in April 2017 brand new. I've replaced the battery twice and Dell refuses to replace it even though there was a battery recall on it.

I purchased a Dell XPS 15 9550 (a $2200 laptop). The hardware seems great. Screen is beautiful and lightning fast. HOWEVER.... There was a problem that the screen brightness would mysteriously dim when awakening from sleep. I would have to manually adjust the brightness over and over again! This was VERY ANNOYING. I finally called tech support and they had no idea what the problem was. They tried updating BIOS and drivers to no avail. Finally, I searched the internet and found the solution which was reported over a year prior to Dell. The Dell Premier Color app needed to be disabled or deleted completely. I did this and the problem went away. HOWEVER... updating the BIOS by tech support introduced yet another problem: the screen started flickering intermittently. Again, after consulting the internet, I discovered that the updated BIOS was causing the problem. I had to change to an older driver for the Intel display that would be compatible with the new BIOS. This is just plain RIDICULOUS! Also, managment at the Best Buy store in Waterford, CT wasn't very sympathetic. They didn't seem to care that they were selling a shoddy product and just recommended that I return it. Sure, after spending hours and hours transferring data and program and applications from my old computer to my new one and after recycling my old computer! And after spending numerous hours resolving my issue, I'm really going to return it. What a joke. P.S. The Best Buy option of no points for my purchase or 18 months financing is bogus! I should still get points for my purchase if free financing is offered.
