I have only had this laptop for about a week and absolutely love it! It is fast and so stylish! Highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a higher end laptop. Too many pros to mention. Go to a Best Buy store and try the display yourself. It doesn't match up to anything else in it's category.

Dell apparently has a history of problems with wireless adapters. This is the worst I've ever seen. Could never complete the Windows update; could never complete the Office 365 install; could never even download a few small utilities that I've used for years.
When I returned it (Best Buy was great, refunded $2,500 without a problem), one of the sales people said that this and other new machines need new routers to work well. Since I travel constantly, mostly internationally, and don't get to choose my router, this is not practical, even if it is true.
Note that the machine only has two usable USB ports, and a wireless mouse would not operate from a Belkin powered hub - had to use one of the two USB ports for the mouse.
Also note that there is no Ethernet port - supposedly can be done with an add-on Thunderbolt hub, but that does not seem to exist at present.
Very very poor value for money. Absolutely not recommended, even though the specs look good on paper.

Best 15" Windows laptop

Pros: 1tb ssd. Kb. Screen with small bezels means it's actually the size of a 14" laptop. Quad core processor. 16 gb RAM. Fabulous screen although windows still needs to optimize better for high resolution screens. Smooth touchpad but loud clicking. Better surface for typing on vs macbook pro.
Cons: Graphics card could be a bit better. No num pad. Some bloat you need to uninstall.

Got this laptop yesterday, took the decision even though I read about the problems it has.
In 4 hours it had to shut down 7 times for errors.
It kept "collecting data" then rebooting.
I am really disappointed, I am returning this light weight, slim, nice looking, well equipped, non performing Laptop today.

Great Box

Being an IT professional I am pretty critical of hardware. This box does not disappoint. Just slamming as a gamer and zero lag at work while running multiple, resource demanding, applications.
Very happy with purchase

just got mine today. started up .....all drivers had to be updated. then i started to hear it.....chirping noises coming from the upper right hand corner of the keyboard. seems to be a bad fan (theres two fans). intermittently and without any pattern, it sounds like a pair of birds are stuck inside the base of the laptop. SOOOO annoying.....based on the other comments on various online forums....this laptop looks great...but works not well at all with very poor quality control...typical dell. I should have known but bit on the looks and specs on paper. DO NOT BUY.

Best Laptop on the Market!

This is the best laptop I've ever had! The touch-screen really comes in handy when I need to see details. The SSD is very fast and quiet. I like the back-lit keyboard. Even using Windows 10 with Chrome hasn't given me any trouble, as I was expecting. I thought that the missing optical drive would bother me, but I find that I never had to use it. I did purchase an external Blu-Ray player should I need it. This Dell XPS 9550 has exceeded all of my expectations in a laptop.

I made three attempts to purchase this computer. The first computer froze up and it couldn't be unfrozen. The second computer indicated that there was no hard drive. And the third computer had wifi/blue tooth problems which interfered with my wifi connection. I'm so disappointed because on paper this computer looked so good. This computer has serious problems.

Great laptop - solid build

After some driver issues fixed by some quick googling, the machine has been rock solid since. Great for knocking out some code, or medium level gaming (I do most of my gaming on console, but this whets my PC gaming appetite just fine).

Great Computer but Display has Issues

I loved the speed of this computer and the display looks awsome, unfortunately many programs/apps are not developed for this resolution so display as 4 point type. Shame loved it, on a side note Dell support was useless, it wasn't until i returned the computer that the Best Buy sales person explained the issue

Purchased this XPS 15 back at the beginning of December-2016. I feel its my duty to warn any potential buyers of several issues.
The first unit I received I opened the box and removed the unit from its packaging, I noticed that the wrapper seemed crumpled , then I noticed a piece of masking tape on the back cover. I thought this was odd and opened the lid and turned it on, the screen looked great , looking down for the trackpad I noticed the lower right of the pad was worn down. This unit was used and was sold to me as new, I quickly turned it off and promptly returned it asking the manager how this could happen? Her response was it most likely was a return or a floor model and was sold to me by accident. This is just the beginning of my nightmare with this model.
They replaced it with verified new XPS15, this unit seemed fantastic for my needs, I use it for development, it seemed to be the one .. however I noticed when using dark colors in my development environment with a slight cock of my head to the right or left there was a distinct red shift light bleed from all 4 corners. This was unacceptable for a model > $2000. Brought it back to BestBuy , and a few Geeks from the Squad looked at it and agreed it was defective. They exchanged it for a 3rd unit.
This 3 unit upon the first boot I looked at the screen, same issue red shift light bleed. At this point I didn’t want to waste any more time provisioning the system for my environment. I packed it back up the next day and returned it for a full refund.
I contacted Dell directly and their response was that BestBuy must have received a defective batch and told me that if I were to purchase direct from Dell they will guarantee a good screen upon assembly.
Dell needs to clean house on whomever is in charge of their quality control department, you may have been one of the lucky ones that received a good unit but they have lost me as a customer. It takes me several hours to provision a new notebook for my environment, until they can prove to me their quality control is top notch I would not make another Dell purchase.

Not Worth the Price

I purchased this computer not only to replace my laptop, but to also function as my "desktop." It had plenty of power, 4K tech, and a solid state hard drive. However....
First issue I had was with the speakers. It's internal speakers are terrible. The first time I tried to use them instead of headphones, they blew out and were useless.
The second, and bigger issue in my opinion, were the ports. As a desktop replacement, I wanted to be able to output to a monitor. If you don't care about the monitor type then it will probably output fine for you. I bought a 4K computer, I wanted to output in 4K (@60hz). The only way to do that on this computer is through the Thunderbolt 3 port (the HDMI port is a 1.4 not a 2.0 which is required for 4K). The Thunberbolt 3 port on this machine is garbage. I struggled for days trying to figure out the issue only to discover on Dell's site a litany of reviews from customers with the same issue, talking about the fact that this port is trash. One guy was on his fourth computer and still didn't have a good port. Dell continues to disappoint with their components and I really should have known better than to have purchased this computer. For over $2000 dollars I expect my machine to have good components and decent speakers. This Dell does not.
I returned it and, at the suggestion of a Geek Squad tech, replaced it with an MSi gaming laptop. Specifically, the GS63VR Stealth Pro. Not only does it match or exceed the Dell laptop in performance specs, it has a much better graphics card (1060 v 960) and it was $900 less. It doesn't have a 4K screen and it's not touchscreen, but I can live without that on the machine itself (It still has the ability to run dual 4K monitors at 60hz through the Thunderbolt 3 port, which is all I needed).
Bottom Line: There are better computers, with better parts, for less money. This isn't a good buy in my opinion (and in the opinion of the Geek Squad Tech who was so awesome in helping me).

This is the worst computer I have ever bought. Right off the bat it said it couldn't find the hard drive. Then I got the bsod 12 times in about 15 min. It went black and I had to manual restart. I took back but I wish it would have worked it could have been a great computer.

A really great computer with some design flaws.

This is a really nicely designed laptop. Very sleek and powerful. The only drawback, like others mentioned, is that you cannot use WiFi and Bluetooth at the same time. The WiFi speed on the 2.4GHZ band is also very slow compared to other devices on my network.
After upgrading my warranty to in home service for 200 dollars, Dell finally sent a technician to my home to change the wifi/bluetooth card. Worked for a short time, maybe 20 minutes, then failed in the same way. They changed the card 3 times without success. They then replaced the origional Broadcom 3 antenna card with an Intel 8260 2 antenna card. A downgrade for sure, but it is the only solution to the HUGE problem of using wifi and Bluetooth simultaneously. If your going to use wifi and Bluetooth simultaneously, look at other laptops and save yourself a lot of headaches.

This laptop is superb. It has a full blown quad core laptop processor (45 watt) with a GTX 960M that powers through everything including video encoding. This laptop is for power users that need a lot of horsepower on the road with no compromise. Don't waste your money if you don't need this type of power.

Pricing and Not Compatible

I paid a good price for this laptop and like everything about except one extremely important thing. It's a laptop and I usually purchase a travel adapter that I can plug into an airplane or car cigarette light port. The problem is that most laptops now a days are 65 watts. This one requires 90 watts. If you plug anything else into it, you get a message that it is not compatible and it won't charge up. Problem 2 is that Dell doesn't even make a travel adapter for it.

Great laptop plagued with quality control issues

I thought this laptop would be the perfect one for me. It had exactly the power I wanted and it was a very attractive machine. However my first unit had an uneven screen back light and poorly functioning audio port. My exchange unit had the same uneven back light issue so I returned it. Upon wiping the computer clean using the built in reset feature... the computer crashed. I would avoid this laptop until Dell can improve their quality control.

This laptop is a beast!!! I'm a real estate agent and create a lot of virtual tours, photo editing, etc. It handles everything without a glitch. If you're a professional looking for a computer that can do it all; look no futher.
