Customers consistently note the XPS 18.4" All-in-One's portability and large touchscreen as significant advantages, frequently comparing it to a large tablet. Many appreciate its ease of use and performance capabilities for everyday tasks. However, some users express concerns regarding the battery life, reporting shorter-than-expected usage times. The touchscreen functionality and overall design are generally well-received.

I bought this for my wife. My version was the XPS 18 with an I5 4th gen Processor, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD. About $1,000. Did not include the metal stand ($110 extra). My wife loves it and therefore so do I. I build desktop gaming computers for a hobby, and I think I have enough knowledge about computer hardware to render an educated opinion. This is a great machine. We took it with us on a trip and used it in the hotel instead of a laptop. It was awesome!
PROS:
1. Light, powerful, portable.
2. Two USB 3.0 ports.
3. Great screen resolution and I love the internal "feet" for propping up the screen.
4. Plenty of Youtube "How to videos" to replace HDD with SSD, add RAM (8GBs is Max), replace the battery, etc.
CONS:
1. No internal DVD, but has to be expected to keep the weight and size down. Not really a negative, but you just have to be aware.
2. Hard Disk Drive is not only cheap, but potentially a big problem if you plan on moving this thing around. Dell must get 5400 rpm HDDs for pennies. As soon as I got this home I cloned the HDD to a 256 GB Solid State Drive and swapped it out. It took 15 minutes to swap the drives. Performance is dramatically improved and a SSD is not prone to the problems a HDD is when you move them around while the HDD is spinning.
3. Could use more USB ports, 3 as a minimum.
Overall, this is worth the money.

This tablet has been a constant companion for the last month and I have really enjoyed it. It is a great fully functional all-in-one computer that you can carry with you. The size is a little awkward any bigger and toting it would be difficult. The edges are rubberized and the back is aluminum. I have barely used the keyboard or mouse however I did notice that they were very well made with aluminum edges. The screen is big enough for a couple of web pages to be open and the keyboard to be up. Flip the built in legs out and it's a portable tv.
I have used it to work on my website eyeglassrepairdallas.com and played a couple of games from the app store. Seems pretty bullet proof so far.
3 hours of battery life.

So much information available that it is hard to quickly learn how to operate. Once you figure it out, it's terrific until you try to remember the next time you use it.

Initially, I was a little concerned. I wanted a laptop at the cost of a desktop. I wanted the most memory I could get and the newest processor, an I7. This hybrid PC, an all-in-one, is portable and wireless but less expensive than a laptop. It's screen is 18" on the diagonal which is very adequate and has the touch screen capability.. It set-up easily with the help of the Geek Squad. It runs very smoothly and is fast enough to watch a TV show or movie on even though it has an I5 processor.. It was a simple transition from my old XP operating system. Lastly, it even looks good on my desk and there are only a couple of wires underneath my desk...no more spaghetti! This purchase has worked out very well for me...absolutely no buyer's remorse!

I just love it! Perform and style are GREAT!
Huge thing this first, but strong problem... Computer shut down by itself twice, then the Battery indicator shows is plugged in but NOT CHARGING... I called Dell Support and they concluded I should change mother board, so I should pay $430+TAX... Almost half the price I paid for my All in One... I am ON SHOCK!

This has been a great device, I'm using it as a giant tablet rather than a desktop, it's a little hard to make phone calls on, and you get a lot of looks in public holding it up to your face, but it works. :-) The picture quality of the cameras aren't worth writing home about, and it ships with a standard hard drive, this is an oversight on their part, really should come with an SSD, which is thankfully easy to swap out, lots of videos online on how to do this.

I am a laptop user. I was looking for an upgrade and was between another laptop or a desktop for working remotely. This is a perfect combination of the two, a robust desktop with the portability of a laptop. Easy to use, lighter than a laptop but with a larger display that makes it great for work. Has touch screen and wireless keyboard capability.

I've had my XPS 18 for about 3 months now. I use it both at work and at home. It is easy to navigate and the screen is great for watching movies or streaming Netflix. I love the power stand and wireless keyboard and mouse. I would like if the keyboard was backlit, but only a minor thing. It has 2 USB ports, which I had to purchase a 4 port adaptor since I use it on an Ethernet connection as well as a DVD drive, so I'm full from the get-go. Screen resolution is fantastic and the sound system is commendable. Overall, best computer I've ever used.

I purchased a Dell all in one computer with a touch screen for my mother. Plenty of positives: Portable (comes with a battery), easy navigation, sturdy stand, great for everyday use. The only downfall I would see someone say would be that it is just a large tablet. I wouldn't disagree, but it has a 1TB hard drive and a great running system. I'm considering one for myself!!

I needed a computer that was easily portable and this works perfectly for my application. The stand, which can be purchased separately for around $100.00 works great as a docking station at the office. The only problem I've had is that even when the charging light is on the stand saying its charging the computer says it isn't charging. It works great at the office and I can take it home and set it up and use it for recipes while cooking in the kitchen. The picture quality is awesome for watching movies. The only draw back other than the stand possibly not charging is that to use this as an iPad may be a little hard unless you're sitting down on a couch or recliner...at 18" it's a little large and heavy to be walking around with. Other than the two mentioned drawbacks I have no other concerns/ complaints.

The 18" touch screen is amazing. I find myself not using my notebook because it's a little bulky. This all-in-one is big but not so big that you don't mind using it on your lap. The touch screen works well for typing but I prefer the keyboard for faster input. I also purchased the stand which also charges the battery. The only addition I would have liked would be the addition of a port that I could plug in an internet cable if needed.

We bought this 18" Dell all in one as a replacement for an old (Vista) laptop. It is fast and looks good sitting on our kitchen planning desk. The fact that you can work with it on your lap is a great bonus!

First off, the XPS all-in-one is a great computer. It has an extremely responsive touch screen that has not failed me at all. The overall design of using the XPS with or without the stand works really well. The pre-paired wireless mouse and keyboard make setup a breeze no matter what you technology comfort level is. The only down side I've had with the machine is a big issue though. The hardware has a production issue that is causing the battery to not charge and forcing the machine to always be plugged in. Upon contacting Dell they immediately replaced the machine only to have the replacement have the same issue.

The size and weight are great for both desk top and to take to court where no outlet is necessary as battery will last virtually all day and does not tke up a lot of spce.

While it may be a bit large, the portabilty is a great feature. Just take it off the charging stand and set it up anywhere, or take it with you. Nice clear large screen.

I am sight challenged and use my SPX-18 for reading music. At only 5 pounds it fits on a music stand easily and can display a large full page of music that is eminently readable. I have thousands of pages of music on it in PDF format, and its bqttery lasts four hours, It also has a two page view mode.

I had to add some upgraded speakers as the sound was less than what I wanted, but everything else is great. The unit is fast, the screen is bright and Windows 10 is user friendly.
