Best of both worlds laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop!! I've taken it in my backpack to work, and it fit in a manila envelope that I already had in there! My only real problems have both been temporary, and seem to be pretty common (internet searches). The first is navigating Windows 8, although the built-in videos made this much easier! The second was there were glitching moments in the Mahjong game, which led to freezes, but I haven't seemed to have them in a while. Other than those two small problems, the convertibility of this laptop is amazing! The touch screen and mousepad are seamless, and the entire thing is super lightweight. All in all, highly recommended!

Cool as a Transformer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Dell XPS. The screen and picture are fantastic. You can even use the XPS in the dark with the backlit keyboard. Speaking of keyboard, it also responds just as I wish. This is the first solid state drive I've owned, and is it ever fast!! Mine is a 128G SSD, which is plenty of space for me. If you run a lot of programs, you might consider bumping up the SSD size. You can go from laptop to tablet in one second by spinning the screen around. The touchscreen is very responsive and fun to use.

Good but could be great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is based on the 3rd gen Intel version purchased from Best Buy. Bought as an open box. I had looked at this model for a few years and was and still am impressed by the design. Solid, well built and a great example of what a convertible laptop can be. I looked at the Yoga, but this just felt more substantial. Got it for what I felt was a nice, fair price, considering it was last years model. Best parts are keyboard, flip screen function and solid feel. Where the machine is let down is the wifi, which dropped connection quite a bit. The screen...as has been reported by many had image retention. The touchpad was a little flaky and surprisingly unrefined. Spoke with Dell and after some patience and a month, they sent a replacement with 4th gen processor, upgraded specs all the way around. Very impressed. So far screen seems good and wifi works great. Classy machine and if you go with the latest model they seem to have corrected the missteps of the previous gen. Can't recommend the third gen model but the latest version so far I would.

Would be better with other operational system!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The equipament is modern with a sophisticated design and concept, practical, lightweight, innovative, but the operating system Windows 8 is too bad and lowers the quality of the machine.

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it to read and play games on my long bus commute and it works well for that purpose. Plenty of performance and battery life. It can be frustrating to use as a tablet due to Windows 8 limitations. For example the touch screen will not respond when battery or update messages display, requiring you to flip it open and use the keyboard. Also no way to log in without the keyboard prior to setting up a picture password. The hardware behaves predictably and reliably, feels very sturdy. Have a USB card handy - there are no memory card slots.

Great laptop for travel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this laptop a lot. It's fast, lightweight, and seems durable. I don't often use the tablet functions, because it's heavier and bulkier than a tablet. But when I do, it's quite satisfactory. I'm glad I bought this computer.

Good value for money, useful for travel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Laptops and travel a lot. This is the first PC I have bought that is so lightweight that I do not have to worry about its weight while traveling. It also allows itself to be used as a tablet.

really cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting a new laptop for a while right when laptop hybrids came to. I was surprised by how light it was and really just use it as a tablet. Some sites are kinda glitch but it may just be the site but still great product. A little pricey though

Great for on the go
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this ultrabook primarily for school use. I needed something compact and light that I could haul with me to class. Weighing only a few pounds this was the best choice I could find that wasn't a tablet. Plus this guy has a convertible screen so it can double as a tablet. It only has around 128gb of hard-drive space, but Its solid state so there is almost no boot time.

Excellent Computer with so Many Options.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The flip screen is truly amazing and really durable. I like how the keys light up and the battery life for being PC based. It has the feeling of a great tablet when you have the screened flipped but also when it is not it feels like any great pc.

Great computer, I love it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the touch screen and windows 8 more and more. The bootup is only seconds. The battery holds up well, so it makes it very portable. The convertible monitor making it into a tablet is handy fun when traveling. I very glad I bought it.

Excellent ultrabook, very versatile.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a light weight yet strong performing computer. Exactly what I got with the Dell XPS-12. Wish the battery would last a bit longer, can only get about 3-4 hours under normal operating conditions. Windows 8 works great on this machine. XPS-12 is very portable and versatile as it converts into a tablet. Highly recommend this ultrabook and worth the price.

Great machine, too small for my taste
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to BestBuy to get a convenient lightweight laptop, I was going for the 13 or 15 inch screeens when a salesman showed me this model that had the rotatin monitor. I got very excited about it because of its versatility but the truth is that when I am using my browser or checking emails the text size is minisculea and very bad for reading so I have to be using the zoom tool all the time, generating bad navigational experiences. It has excelent display for movies or touch-screen type applications that tend to have bigger letters, buttons, etc.

Beautiful yet Functional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great buy. I really like the Windows 8 system on this laptop and the ability to touch the screen when I want to zoom in or go to a different page. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the touchscreen has frozen on me - but I can easily go to laptop mode... The laptop also smoothly flips from tablet to laptop. I compared this with the Lenovo Yoga / Thinkpad Twist and although these were cheaper, I liked that this one had a smoother flip hinge from going from tablet to laptop. I also liked the keyboard better - much more smooth feel to it. Everything about this laptop is crisp - I also like the lightweight and small size of it. Very pleased with my purchase!

Better than an ipad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the convince of having a tablet and computer in one. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours. When you swipe the screen to the right you can change what program you are using. I don't like that when you are using it as computer and drag the mouse just right the screen changes as if you are wanting to change programs like the touch screen. It's easy to change back but can be a pain. I still have to figure out what the trick is to not have that happen. Otherwise I have no problems with it. Worth every penny. Very pleased.

A fantastic combination of tablet and laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beautifully designed, relatively light full powered laptop. It is comfortable to use. My wife is the primary user and is getting rid of her old laptop and ipad in favor of this convertible.
