Great laptop/tablet

Quality product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to keep up with the Windows world since I had been mostly a Mac users during the last year. The Dell Ultrabook is an excellent product with good design and execution of design. Windows 8 has been frustratingly difficult to learn and to remember, but I'm still satisfied with my purchase. I thought the Geek Squad at Best Buy in Silver Spring Township, Mechanicsburg, PA have been consistently competent and helpful.

excellent student notebook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After shopping around I found the Dell product to be the most flexible and reliable. I was concerned about the screen but it seems to be holding up well. It is great fot surfing and student tasks. Being a hybrid i believe the XPS is the better value. I have owned a ipad prior to this and there is no comparison. I have been a loyal customer to DELL for many years. This XPS is another great item. I will be looking for more products like this one in the future. Negative points! I would like it to come with a quality office suite already installed at no cost. Question? How can Best Buy sell cheaper than Dell? Oh well no matter we own it and like it.

Love the convertibility factor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I still wouldn't return it. It's light, compact, and portable. Perfect to throw in a book-bag, considering I'm a student who speed-walks. Perfect for on the go students such as myself. Price could be better and so could the battery life.

Overall a nice computer.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer for my daughter for college. I am not certain that it has enough memory to last without adding more memory.

An Alright Machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine is alright, but it's not the best for business needs; maybe if it had an i7 and a max 8GB of RAM it would be a little faster. Also, they definitely should start selling it with a better wi-fi card and Windows 8 Pro, as it would suit business needs better.

Flexible usage for any person.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced old laptop and decided to upgrade. Price was more then average by a good bit but decided to go for it. Overall, love the ability and speed of the computer. Touch screen can be almost to easy to move. Biggest problems is the limitations on Windows. Most apps are written by second hand / third party programers and are filled with advertisments. Being that the tablet side of this computer is all run on apps, that limits how much I'm willing to use it for. Touch pad really needs scroll function.

Well worth the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop. Everything loads quickly and its very light. Only downside is the short battery life. Otherwise I am in love with the easy flip to tablet and the backlit keyboard!

Love the laptop, hate Windows 8
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the laptop/tablet is a great machine -- WINDOWS 8 IS THE PITS!!!! I cannot find any of the files that I paid to have transferred from my old Dell to the new one, I cannot find the Microsoft Office Suite I bought and had installed, I cannot get it to recognize my printer and getting it to recognize my network was a migraine. WINDOWS 8 STINKS -- IT IS NOT INTUITIVE, USER FRIENDLY NOR DOES IT PRESENT EASY OPTIONS TO FIND MENU ITEMS. I wish I could go back to Windows 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE LEARNING CURVE IS LIKE CLIMBING EVEREST WITHOUT OXYGEN, GUIDES OR TENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent product, I love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give it a 5 * accross the board, except for Windows 8. It is a laptop but it is also a large tablet. You can stand it up for presentations or for watching a movie. Good sound volume for the size. Very fast turn on, as fast as it takes to sign in. Windows 8 has all these apps that companies must have paid a fortune for and you are stuck with them. Example: When you click music it is not my music it is X Box. All the app it seems are trying to sell you something. Since they are on the start page you actually have to click an app for your desktop. If you are giving a presentation you need to have it all set first or you will be showing all the apps and have to go looking for your presentation.

Good Touch Screen laptop for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this Dell laptop is good. It is quick with the i5 processor, but I am not a big fan of windows 8. The touch pad is really jumpy even after adjusting the settings to slow it down. Other than that it is a good laptop for the money.

Excellent machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was bought for my daughter to take to college. She is very happy with it with a few minor issues. She is not thrilled with Windows 8. There are a few odd limitations that are supposed to be fixed "sometime" according to Microsoft. The long term memory is 128GB, which she thought would not be an issue, is a bit. But it is something she will need to adjust her computer use to. An external hard drive solves the issue.

Not bad for a laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its convenient and portable but some of the touch features work when you don't want them to, screens hide and others appear when you aren't trying to use them. Nothing wrong with the software but this defect can get annoying.

nice convertible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.system is easy to convert from PC to tablet operation. weighs about what an iPad with a bluetooth Zagg keyboard & case weighs. System speed is good, battery life is multiple hours.

Perfect portable size, hybrid screen is killer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my wife and it is an amazing laptop. Boots super quick, screen has excellent color, and the tablet mode is not too heavy for being a 12 inch computer. Sometimes the track pad goes nuts and you have to touch the screen to make it stop moving in the wrong place, but that's every now and then. The only reason I fave it a good on performance is because it only has an Intel hd4000 for graphics, so she won't be playing any games on it, but she doesn't play games anyway so that won't matter.

Just the laptop I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a laptop when I want to work from home. I also wanted something that would be easy to travel with. This ultra book has not disappointed. And having a touchscreen is a plus. It was not inexpensive, but I am the sole user of my computer and tend to keep these things for a while. I want to enjoy the look and feel of my laptop as well as the functionality. I would choose this laptop again, if purchasing tomorrow.

It is great as a laptop or tablet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Dell XPS Convertible Ultrabook mainly to use for college. It has been great and easy to use and the convience of it being a laptop or notebook whithout disconnecting the keyboard is really nice.
