The Dell XPS is a really great portable computer. Light weight but still powerful enough to run some serious computing jobs.

this pc is awesome, does eveything an apple can plus it makes sense. Some people dislike windows 10; however, the older window 7 access is still there. If anything, 10 is too cutesy in menu useage, succumbing to the apple sauce of the mindless mob.

Obviously, the system is a bit pricey, but it is the Dell flagship. The balance of performance, form factor, and battery life is great here.

What an amazing little computer! The InfinityEdge screen is a thing of beauty! The picture is sharp, bright and just amazing, and this is just the FHD 1920x1080 model. The unit ships with Windows 10 but does not include the latest update so it took about an hour for initial setup and updates. Dell includes a 12-month subscription to McAfee® LiveSafe and a Microsoft Office trial. The installed office suite is 32bit and will need to be uninstalled prior to installing 64bit if that’s what you choose. I’m not a fan of McAfee products and will most likely uninstall it and just use windows defender which has worked fine for me so far. I was concerned about compatibility with my existing peripherals as this unit only has two USB C jacks and was relieved to see a USB C to USB 3 adapter was included in the box. The back-lit keyboard is usable and the keys have a good solid touch to them, making it easy for touch typists. The trackpad is a decent size but I struggle with it with taps. Not sure if that’s due to the OS or the hardware. It does recognize gestures and you can customize the three and four finger swipes. I’ve only had the laptop for a couple of days and the battery life is really good. It lasted a whole day at the office on one charge. The finger print reader has been spot on, recognizing my programmed fingers on the first try every time. The processor is an I7 at 1.6 GHz with turbo boost to 3.6 GHz. I was able to edit video using the latest Adobe Premiere Pro although it was made somewhat difficult due to the screen size and track pad, the laptop was able to handle it easily. The computer also plays back full screen video with ease. This is a 2-1 and the display flips back and folds flat against the keyboard. When this happens, the OS automatically changes from laptop to tablet mode, shutting the keyboard off. It supports a pen but needs to be purchased separately from Dell. This uses a Wacom digitizer and I’m told it will work with any pen made for that technology. I can tell you a Microsoft Surface pen does not work and neither does the older pen used on the Dell Venue Pro 8. I imagine there are times when this will be useful but the screen size makes it just look awkward, sort of like an 8.5x14 piece of paper. There is a memory card slot but it’s for the MicroSD cards. I used this to create the recovery software and other than taking quite a while, it worked fine. I believe the time was just the OS and nothing to do with the hardware or card used. There are speakers and they have a decent volume but the sound is somewhat tinny. Overall this is one solid laptop and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs something this size. I am looking forward to traveling with this laptop, replacing my 2011 MacBook Pro! Pros: Solid build, look and feel. Screen, even though the description incorrectly states it’s the QHD+, it is not, it is the FHD, it is AMAZING Keyboard. It is a bit smaller than the MacBook Pro but still very usable and excellent key response and feel. Battery life. Charging from either side via the USB C connector. Included USB C to USB 3 adapter Totally silent. All this power and no fans needed for cooling. This means the unit does get a bit warm when sitting in your lap. Cons: Trackpad, again not sure if it’s a setting or the hardware. I will most likely use a Bluetooth mouse. No pen included No HDMI, VGA or other video out adapters included.

I love how compact it is, I love the way it looks and its functionality. It's very fast and I love the touch screen too. However I have had some issues and needed to send it to the Geek Squad and it's still not working quite right. I think I just got a lemon.

Overall very nice machine. Works fast and built quality is good. The screen is beautiful and speaker is good. However it’s a bit heavy to hold with one hand when used in tablet mode.
