Some people must have got damaged machines from the factory or something. Mine is everything I hoped for. It doesn't emit steam or leak any water, coffee is plenty hot, makes a full pot in 12 minutes, or 18 minutes if you put it on "aroma" (bold). I always do. No longer have to pull the pot out from under the cabinet to prepare a pot. (My old unit beeped when it turned on-again when the coffee was done-and again when it turned off. I hated that!) The only negative thing I can think of is setting the clock and timer. If you go past where you want it set, you have to go forward nearly 24 hours to set it. But not a problem if you're careful. and not something that needs to be done very often.

I bought this coffeemaker online for my daughter who was looking to buy a DeLonghi brand and she is very happy with it! She says it makes good coffee and its very stylish and easy to handle. We love DeLonghi products and gift certificates from Best Buy! We bought an iPhone from Best Buy and they gave us a $200 gift certificate to spend in store or online...what a deal! Thank you Best Buy!

Reviewed by RichPro; coffee maker worked right out of the box. Pull out fill drawer works flawlessly, no leaks and cleans easily. Pot is glass, considered medium heavy, easy to clean. Programming is easy and works perfectly.
Cons: could use on and off beeper

Coffee maker worked fine for about 95 days then started leaking heavily from the rear left of the machine. It's cold water not hot going onto the grounds. Leaves a large puddle on the countertop. Very disappointed as it was a good product until now.

Overall I like this coffee maker

It makes good coffee. The front load feature is very handy. It has only 2 minor problems. It takes about 40 minutes to brew 12 cups of coffee. That could be why the coffee tastes really good. The clock and program setting is not as quick to set as one would like. Since it does take so long to brew the coffee I do use the program function. At least the clock works.

This is the first coffee maker in years that can deliver a rich, bold, and scalding hot cup of coffee.
The warming plate keeps the coffee at that "freshly brewed" temp without burning coffee.
I've been a Kcup guy for over two years; this is more economical and much better for the environment!

I bought this coffee maker because of its design. I thought because it opened outward instead of a top opening it would be better than the Mr. Coffee machine I was using. It does load easiely but it takes forever to make a full pot of coffeee and it is not even hot coffee at that.My wife thought something must be wrong with the machine. i have been using it every day for over a month and it isn't getting any better. Poor machine and poor heating element.

This coffee maker has a design that lasts for many years. The front load water inlet and hotness can't be matched.

I have never heard of DeLonghi, but purchased it based strictly on the great design. Most coffee makers are designed to make filling the water reservoir difficult at best and this one has a pull out tray in front that allows you to pour the water in effortlessly. I love the digital clock and permanent filter as well. We have only brewed one pot of coffee so far using the Aroma feature, and it was wonderful! All in all, it is thoughtfully designed and nice looking. I'm so glad to finally get rid of my Mr. Coffee coffee maker that was problematic from the get go.

Not hot enough for me

I like everything about this coffee maker except that it does not make the coffee quite hot enough for me. By the time I finish my first cup, it's getting too cool. I put a second cup in a thermal cup for later and that doesn't stay hot very long. Missing my Cuisinart now.

I find that it brews a very nice cup of coffee. The pour a cup while brewing feature works well as it does not drip when you remove the carafe to pour a cup.The front load feature for the coffee and water is nice because you do not have to be sliding the unit out from under the cabinets to put in the coffee and the water.

We have had this coffeemaker for about a month. It make good, but slow, coffee using the aroma function which feeds water slower to the brewing tray. If I didn't pour water on the counter every time I filled it and if it kept the coffee warmer than it does I would rate it a five.

Really it makes coffee fast, too fast watery coffee! Or use the aroma button to slow its brew time in 1/2 then delicious coffee. Unfortunately, MI water has minerals and using filtered water may help, but to have good coffee and using the aroma option will scale the insides in about 3 weeks! Then, its runs about 1 brew cup per hour, clean and repeat.
Something to do with the reservoir and how you put the coffee and water in the top tray, it's easy to bump some grounds in the water side. So if you have poor water and usually use vinegar to clean it, this machine doesn't clean fast either.

I bought this coffee pot about 6 months ago. At first it was ok. Now it leaks water, takes over an hour to make one pot, and you can not pause brewing to pour a cup without it dripping coffee everywhere. I tried cleaning it multiple times and still it did not help any of the issues. I am fed up with it. It is going straight to the trash! Waste of money!

Looked for a good coffee maker to fit under the cabinet and make a good cup of joe. Loved this design opening from the front. Takes a long time to brew and coffee taste awful getting cup half way thru brew process. Worked great tell the 30 days had passed. Started noticing a lot of extra steam. We were losing over 3 cups of water steaming out the top onto my wood cabinet door. Called DeLonghi sent cut cord they sent new one. Exact same problem 30 days later. They will replace again with $15.00 and cut cord sent. Steam warps front of coffee maker allowing steam out top. Spent enough sending cord and having to re-finish front of cabinet door. Moving to a better coffee maker with less problems.

Carafe is fragile

It worked okay for a couple of months. The new plastic smell never went away, the flat bottomed cone made weak coffee, and the carafe glass broke with a gentle tap when hot. . The carafe is difficult to clean as well. The lid flips open at a 90 degree angle and doesn't come off. So, placement in the dishwasher is awkward. Cost to replace the carafe was $25 plus shipping. At half the cost of the entire product, i opted for a sturdier metal carafe on a different model. It's also a big black plastic lump on the counter. Looks and feels cheap.
Picked up the Caphalon 10 cup with stainless coffee pot. Much nicer unit all around. Note to self: You get what you pay for!!
