I’ve had this little espresso maker for quite a while now with zero problems. It’s easy to program the heat settings, as well as the amount of liquid per shot! Very user-friendly, and very easy to take care of! It makes it great Americano! The frother works wonderfully as well :-) I’ve use this machine for between four shots and 16 shots every day since I bought it! This one thing has been a trooper and never once had a problem. It tells you when it’s time to clean the scaling, which is a very simple process. It takes a few minutes but, it’s worth it

This is an expensive little machine but it does make really good espresso and espresso latte's; I do have a Krups burr grinder now which probably helps the quality as well. Some immediate drawbacks to this machine include: extracting the perforated filter inside the 1 and 2 cup holders; most of the time I have to use a needle nose pliers to pull it out after disposing of the used coffee grounds. The little tab to pull on to pull out the filter is too small to grasp onto without using some kind of device and I don't have large hands and fingers. Second issue....I haven't had to descale the machine, as I haven't had it that long, but the fact that you have to use the liquid (that DeLonghi initially provides) is a drawback considering that vinegar or vinegar water would probably work as well but using anything else besides their product voids your warranty. Third issue...although this comes with the territory....cleaning the water spout/frother...hard to remember to pull it apart daily to clean! Fourth issue; this machine costs $380.00 which seems on the high side for a non commercial product. On the upside, having the Cappuccino maker selection ring with two settings (hot milk vs. froth) is a nice feature as using the froth feature alone doesn't seem to heat the milk up enough so I switch between the two to make a latte.

This really is an excellent espresso maker. The espresso is consistently very tasty and fairly simple to make, the spout that heats the milk also works well.

For a $300 espresso machine, I can't believe how cheesy this feels. I'd used the previous model at a friend's house and loved it, and waited for this model to become available because of the ability to fit a mug under it and what I thought were a few other bells and whistles. The older model felt much more solid. Even the pump mechanism on this sounds like it might wear out any minute — on the first use. I expected better quality from this company. They don't even include a brush to whisk coffee crumbs from the boiler area, and the plastic tamper feels so weak, it might break if you put enough pressure on it. I'm also afraid I'm going to snap off the flimsy-looking prongs that hold the tank in place if I pull it wrong — which seems easy to do. And I've yet to produce a shot of espresso that looks nice and dark, with a good head of crema. They're still looking rather muddy and flat. That may be on me, but I'm not a first-timer with cappuccino machines.

Indisputably, this Espresso machine is one of the best out there in the market. This Dedica DeLuxe manual espresso machine is designed to take up less space on the countertop. The Stainless Steel body is sleek and feels durable. Currently, I use the Delonghi semi-automatic espresso machine which a huge step over this in terms of ease of use but I like the fact that with this one I can use fresh ground coffee besides tamping in manual which is ok to put desired pressure. relatedly, the frother is adjustable to have different foam and steam. My takeaways from this machine are: Heating speed is noticeable and rapid fast, the drip tray is convenient and removable to fit most of the cup sizes, the pressurized cups are perfect and give nice crema. What I do not like is the downgrade of quality they used to make the coffee tamper and the filter, the tamper is plastic and looks cheap and the filter is not made of stainless steel which makes it unfit for the high quality of the machine itself. Overall, great machine and does an amazing job!!!

I absolutely love coffee and classic espresso-based beverages, but I don’t pretend to be a master espresso maker. Therefore, I rely on the machine. The DeLonghi Dedica EC685 is the first coffee maker I’ve owned that “allowed” me to make great tasting, beautiful drinks easily. Perhaps it’s the excellent manual, or the technology. I’m going to give them credit for both. There are 3 buttons, one knob, and a bi-functional frother, a great pump and 9 pages of instructions in one book and 15 in the illustrated “Get Started” manual. You can’t go wrong. It’s a handsome machine. I was disappointed a few pieces were lighter-duty. I hope they last. There’s a removable water tank and the top is a cup warmer. It comes packaged with a scoop/tamper, 3 sizes of cup filters, and a starter descaling kit. You can tamp your own coffee or use ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) pods that are paper-based. Nice. I did it old-school and made a great coffee on my first try and every subsequent effort. The footprint is small enough to leave on your counter or easily stow away in an upper or lower cabinet. A real joy to use!

The De'Longhi - DEDICA Espresso Machine with 15 bars of pressure and Milk Frother - Metal - Stainless Steel is a beautiful small kitchen appliance that makes my K-cup coffee maker look like something purchased at a yard sale :-) I wouldn’t call myself a coffee or espresso connoisseur, but I do consume it once or twice daily. Ease of use is one of my main requirements, followed closely by flavor. I like to experiment with different flavored coffees and even mix them sometimes. Espresso is more of a purist thing and this DEDICA does not disappoint. Having been so used to the convenience of K-cups over the years, I decided to start with the use of ESE espresso pods. I personally like the Lavazza variety for their Italian heritage and fairly reasonable prices. They worked well with the DEDICA and produced a smooth, consistent cup of espresso. I didn’t have much prior experience with frothing milk, so I made a bit of a mess at first with the steam/water pressure splashing all over. At this price point, it would have been nice to have included a stainless steel frothing pitcher and could have used less plastic with some of the other accessories. Overall, it’s relatively easy to use for anyone with little to no experience brewing espresso drinks. It heats up rather quickly in under 40 seconds. It gives you enough flexibility for single or double shots or the use of ESE pods, which is my preferred, less messy method. It makes great cappuccinos and it looks great while doing it. Depending on how frequently you consume espresso beverages, it could pay for itself in less than a year and you’ll have fun creating and customizing your favorite shots, lattes, macchiatos and more and impress your friends with your newly acquired barista-at-home skills :-)

What I like most about this espresso machine is it’s size. It takes up less than half the space of two other units I’ve had/have. And also doesn’t lack any features. On top on the unit you will find a cup warmer. On the side you have a frother that delivers hot steam and water. Under the filter holder you will find a removable drip tray for use with bigger cups. And something this unite has that my others don’t. Is that the filters in the holder are removable for ease of cleaning. It’s also nice that you can get an optional water filter. All in all this unit is easy to use and compacted. This is now my main espresso machine.

Over the years I used a lot of espresso machines. Most of them were large, black plastic boxes with a hard steel tube on the side for frothing your milk. None of them really lasted long and they weren't really good looking. So when I was given the opportunity to test the De'longhi Dedica Deluxe I jumped at the chance. The version I received is the stainless steel model. As soon as I unboxed it, I could immediately tell it was a premium machine. I tore off the tape, that was keeping the parts secure, set it on my counter top and took a step back. I stood there for a few minutes, mesmerized by its beauty. It is the slimmest, smallest, best looking, espresso machine I've ever used.  Before my first brew I read the instructions, which were pretty straight forward and began my test. I started by testing the milk frothing capabilities. To my surprise, I really didn't have to wait long for the machine to heat up. Within seconds of pushing the steam button, it was ready to start blasting steam. I set the adjustable nozzle to cappuccino and 30 seconds later I had some hot, perfectly foamy milk. My next test was brewing a double shot of espresso. Again, I just pressed one button and the machine heated up quickly and dispensed a nice frothy cup of espresso. I then put the two together and almost shed a tear at how perfect it looked and how amazing it tasted. This is truly the best espresso machine I have ever used and I highly recommend to any coffee lover.

I'm one of those who can't function without my first cup of coffee. Even with dinner, I love coffee. I've had expresso before but never imagined owning an expresso machine. I thought they were too complicated. Well I was wrong! The De'Longhi - DEDICA Espresso Machine with Milk Frother is easy to use. The neat warming tray on top for storing expresso glasses was a surprise. The overflow tray is removable for taller glasses. I'm really glad as I don't have the cute espresso cups yet. I filled the rear water reservoir and followed the directions. I started by warming the coffee filter cup by running clear water through the machine as recommended. Then filled the cup and compressed the grinds. The machine does all the work. My first cup was great. Next I tried the milk Frother. Pretty cool. It really makes my coffee more enjoyable. The unit is easy to clean, looks sharp on the counter with its shiny stainless steel body. Now a great expresso can be made in my house too. Well built. Definitely recommended.

How to be an at-home Barista

This De’Longhi Dedica Deluxe Espresso and Cappuccino Maker was intimidating, at first. There was a steep learning curve, at least for me. Fortunately, it came with both a Quick Start Guide, and a detailed instruction User’s Manual. I would encourage anyone purchasing this machine, to read both. First off, this IS a well-made machine. You can see the quality, even in the accessories. This coffee maker is totally worth its cost. I began by trying to make an espresso, and while I can understand how people may like this type of drink, I did not. It was much too concentrated and strong for my tastes, but the flavor was definitely there. The De’Longhi brewed the beverage well. The flavor was rich, smooth and even, every time I crafted another. The type of beverages I was most interested in, were Lattes and Cappuccinos. After experimenting for a bit, I was able to get the “right” amount of milk to froth the way I wanted it to, and then the trick was to sweeten the brew to my liking. Delicious! I used finely ground coffee, but plan on buying some of the pre-measured coffee pods. Oh, a couple other things worth mentioning ... the ‘warming tray’ for your mugs and espresso cups, on top of the appliance, is a nice feature. But it really would have been nice if the machine had come with its own pitcher for creating that hot frothy milk in. *Remember that the water/steam coming from the spout will be ‘hot’! Depending on how you use the frother, milk may spurt and make a bit of a mess, so choose wisely where you position the appliance on your counter. Now I know why baristas get specialized training. Crafting these brews, is truly an art form, and takes a certain finesse. It’s going to take me a lot of practice to make those fancy designs with the steamed milk, but that’s part of the fun. Fortunately, there are numerous ‘how-to’ videos you can watch to learn from. This De’Longhi Dedica Deluxe Espresso and Cappuccino Maker impresses. I’m most assuredly looking forward to fully getting to know what all this machine is capable of, and becoming a home barista in my own right!

The manual is a little thin but with practice I got the hang of it eventually. It does a good job making one shot. Making more than two shots can take time. It is the compromise between junk and expensive machines. Good for two people who want a serious espresso not heavy duty enough for many more. I rate it excellent for the quality of the espresso and the steam. Because it is limited by its size I rated it lower because it's size forces you to learn how to accomplish drinks in one try. There's a learning curve as the machine has limited heating capacity.

Is my second one and so far is working great. The filter design is better and easier to clean and make sure it does not clog up. This was a mayor issue on my first one. Hopefully, it maintains the pressure. The pump started loosing pressure on the first one, causing most of the water to stay in the coffee grind. Also making less coffee and weaker espresso shot. The user guide was easy to follow and good pictures. I’m Army guy … we need pictures. lol

I use delonghi for my travel machine. I own the EC155 and a barista express. I really hate delonghi’s portafilters, they stain very easy over time. I’m comparing this machine to the EC155. I’ve been pulling shots experimenting as it’s basket design has changed. While traveling with work I carry the smallest espresso machine I can. Obviously I don’t bring a grinder so I have to purchase pre ground espresso. With the ec155 I get very good shots with great crema. This machine I’ve purchased I leveler/tamp(the tamp delonghi provides is trash! After a few days of pulling shots trying to get consistency I’ve managed to get a decent crema and a decent shot. I’ve also purchased a bottomless portafilter but using that with the burr grinder on my barista express so I won’t really go into that. But you can use pre-ground coffee with it just don’t expect great results. So to sum it up, I’m keeping the machine as it’s a slimmer foot print that the EC155. It’s a decent machine for my needs, as I like to drink espresso at work and with traveling I have to bring my own machine(I’m a merchant mariner BTW) so yes I would recommend this machine for my needs. If I was using it at home, I wouldn’t. For the price point save a couple hundred more dollars and get a better machine.
