Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My husband bought me this De Longhi coffee/espresso maker 10 months ago. I’ve only used it a handful of times because I still had my keurig. I decided to toss the keurig YESTERDAY as I started using my De Longhi faithfully this week for my morning coffee. Well, this morning it decided to not work anymore. After several hours of trying to get it to work, I’m officially out $300 and a keurig. Won’t ever purchase a De Longhi product again.

It Takes awhile to get the right ratio of grinds for a good cup of coffee. Also, for the money, the drip should have an auto stop when the carafe is pulled out so you don’t have to wait until done with the entire portion selected to have a cup of coffee

It seems after some months that it stops functioning properly. The machine turns on by itself meaning i cant leave coffee pot on heat plate. That was the first issue. Now.... Also now when i turn it on, the water for the espresso doesnt get hot. Typically it blinks while water heats, now it does not. I have to ensure i plug it in and out so the machine resets. Nice machine when it worked. Luckily i bought extemded warranty.

Good while it lasted

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This coffee maker and espresso machine worked pretty well for the first year or so, but now leaks and gets water all over the counter. We cannot find where the actual leak is coming from, but whenever we make coffee we get a puddle of water seeping from under the machine. We are just past the two year mark of owning it, so beyond both the warranty and Geek Squad guarantees. For the price, it is disappointing that it last just over 2 years.

Been painful working with the manufacturer. If you this, Test it same day. Return immediately if it leaks. Best Buy only has a14 day return policy.

Probably due to the higher pressure compared to my previous machine, I have had to go to a finer grind for my espresso and haven't gotten that settled yet. The carafe is still garbage in that it is nearly impossible to pour without spilling. We just hope that it doesn't fail quickly like the previous model. I went against my usual practice in that I bought protection due to the high failure rate of the previous model. De'Longhi builds some very nice units if you want to spend $1000, so I'm hoping that the previous lower end model"s reliability issue was an aberration. We're keeping an eye out for a decent carafe that fits. I will update my post if it fails. My previous espresso maker was still working after a decade, although the pump pressure seemed to be slowly failing. We donated it because I suspect that it still has a few years left and my wife wanted a single unit on the counter.
