    It was a defective item, the water pump wasn’t pumping the water. Bought it online, the shipping was free, Returned in store, and the store associate told me that in order the item be replaced and be delivered to my house , I have to pay shipping fee… which is ridiculous. It wasn’t my fault that Best Buy sold defective item, and I spent my time and gas on returning it in store … and on top of that they wanted me to pay shipping fee to replace their defect item… Disappointing..

    When I first purchased the machine it was great. Did everything I wanted in an espresso machine. Just after a year of use the pump for the steam wand stop working. I’ve read the pump is one the main problems with this machine. I expected the machine to last more than a year.

    This is my second DeLonghi LaSpecialista machine. The first was the standard LaSpecialista and it has been excellent, making very nice espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes at a fraction of the coffee shop price. I’ve had it for about two years with absolutely no issues other than the occasional descaling maintenance, which is an automated process. The machine alerts you when it’s time to descale, and you simply add their “Ecodecalk” solution to the water tank, turn a knob and press a button, then repeat with clean water, and you’re done. So maintenance is really easy. My first machine has been great, and expect nothing less from this one! The LaSpecialista Prestigio is nearly identical to the original, but includes a few key upgrades. There is now a three level temperature control, which allows adjusting for different bean types to optimize your extraction. There is a new steaming wand, which is more traditional, but also works better than the auto-frothing wand of the original machine. And there is a dual heating element, which allows the machine to heat up faster and hotter, providing better extraction and better steam. Finally, the portafilter design uses improved filter cups, which work better and are easier to clean. Both machines feature a built-in grinder and tamper. When the portafilter is locked into the left side, the grinder automatically starts, grinding the beans in the desired quantity and to the consistency that you set, then a quick pull of the tamping lever, and you have a perfect dose ready for extracting. The quick start guide helps you setup the grinding and dosing by providing guidelines based on bean type. So far it has been very accurate providing great results. The espresso is very nice with excellent crema. Overall these are simply fantastic machines. I thought the original LaSpecialista was an amazing machine. Hats off to DeLonghi for improving things that worked quite well and introducing the LaSpecialista Prestigio at the same price point. If you’re a serious coffee lover, you need this machine!

    The one I got never worked and had to be returned. After setting it up per the set-up guide, the machine went straight to descaling mode. After two frustrating hours I called the manufacturer to be put on hold for another hour, only to be told to return it because it is defective. Purchased a different brand.

    Returned. Steamwand was very weak. Shots pulled really well but the steamwand would not froth or warm.

    poorly built, poor quality. Water level sensor is erratic, buttons feel very cheap. Coffee quality on every option is subpar. Just not worth the money, for the "features". you can get better coffee from a breville at half the price

    $900 coffee maker did not work straight out of the box. took it back and got my money back ...bottom line - bought 2 coffee makers from you the same day and both were worthless !!!

    I enjoy making my americano's with this machine. Unfortunately, the grinder stopped working after just a few months and now have to return the unit for replacement. Luckily, I purchased the protection plan so i can return it directly to BestBuy.

    This machine is terribly defective. It turned on, but would not perform the first step to activate, despite multiple tries, by multiple people. It is pretty and that’s all that is positive. It was returned.
