This 1-star review is based solely on quality control of the product that I purchased in-store. When I unpacked it at home, the espresso machine had blue tape holding the plastic side pieces together. I removed the blue tape only to discover that the plastic from the left side of the machine was disconnected and bulged out. There’s no way to push it back in or reconnect it. Someone at De’Longhi or Best Buy actually tried to tape the machine together to mask the issue and sell it as if it would go undiscovered. Further, the metal cup tray was significantly bent. Very disappointed in the quality control here, especially given the costs of the espresso machine.

Disappointing De Longhi Magnifica Evo machine

Bought this machine last month and now the frothing function is not working, so basically I can’t make any milk-based drinks anymore! Contacted the De’Longhi customer service and am awaiting for their service department to determine if it needs to be sent back and get it repaired. You would expect the machine will work at least a while but it just passed 30days and it is not working properly already. Best Buy only has 14 days return window, so I am out of luck and so disappointed!

Overall, its ok, convenient since it's all in one. Here's the but... the coffee is weak and the settings are hard to set and you'll have to set the settings again after a power failure or if you move it. If you like weak espresso, this is for you!

This is a great machine for the price point; super simple to use and the coffee tastes good! Yes it's a little on the loud side when grinding and moving the brew group, but I mean it's not like most people are installing in a library so not sure why that's an issue in so many reviews. I generally only use the espresso and coffee functions, but the lattes are also good! Super easy to clean and maintain - provided you actually do that on a semi regular basis; of course the spent pucks will go moldy if you leave them there for weeks, and of course the milk frother will go gross if you don't clean it after each use, but both of these things take all of 30 seconds - I just put all my parts in the dishwasher a couple times a week. On the whole, a good machine, does what it says on the tin, and looks nice on my kitchen counter.

We appreciate your understanding regarding the noise level during grinding and brewing, and it's great to know that you enjoy the espresso and coffee functions, as well as the lattes. Your maintenance tips are spot on, regular cleaning definitely makes a difference! We're glad it looks nice on your kitchen counter, too. Coffee is more than just a drink. It's an experience.

We are coffee drinkers in our house, but we don’t like the hassle of going through the steps of creating custom coffee drinks. Machines like the Magnifica Evo do the complicated work for you. I’ve used machines like this before so the set-up was pretty standard. The machine comes all in one piece, but there are certain parts that are taped down. All the tape and packaging must be removed before using the machine. A filter is also included for the water tank. It’s optional, but recommended for use — especially if you have a hard water issue.
It’s also recommended that you clean all the removable parts before using the coffeemaker for the first time and there is a ‘priming’ step to complete the first time you use it. This is really just running water through the machine. The machine comes with a small package of the coffee beans. The machine can use coffee beans or coffee grounds. It has a built in grinder and it will use the correct amount of coffee beans or grounds for the recipe you choose.
When I tested it out, I made a simple cup of coffee. The machine is programmed to dispense a ‘standard’ cup of coffee, which I think is approximately 6 ounces. My usual coffee cups are much larger than that and there is a button to dispense 2X the amount of the recipe you choose. This would be one thing I would like to see modified on this machine — the addition of a cup size selector. That would be a welcome option for anyone who enjoys different coffee sizes.
The coffee that was brewed was magnificent. It was very smooth and the beans that were provided were a robust blend. I’m used to traditional coffee pots or French press coffee and this machine provides a much smoother brew than those methods.
I do really like that you can set the machine up with water and coffee beans and then just walk up to it to brew a cup when you want it. The machine is pretty easy to use and maintain. The machine is pretty loud when it is in operation and it is pricey. You get a lot for this machine and you get a really good product. I would recommend it to someone who enjoys coffee or to a small business that serves a lot of clients. It would look good as a value-added service to those clients.

Great Luxury Coffee Machine

Wow! WAY more coffee maker than I need... But so much coffee maker to love!
Let's start with the fact that this probably considered a "luxury" item, especially for a typical home environment. That said, if you are a coffee drink aficionado, this a great option.
From opening the box to set-up to first coffee drink was maybe 20 to 25 minutes. Instructions say before first use to run 3 or 4 coffees through it. Set up was not difficult but using the quick set-up guide was certainly helpful.
For general use, this could not be more simple. fill with water, fill with beans (fresh ground coffee is sssooo much better IMHO), fill with milk (if desired), power it on and hit the drink icon you want to make. You'll hear it heat the water, ground the beans, froth the milk and then out pumps a great fresh cup!
A couple things I really like: It froths the milk quickly and thoroughly. My older Saeco also has a froth bar but you need to manually do it. This one does it for you. It also has a "self cleaning" option for the head of the milk frother. Simple one touch and it cleans it self. You still need to clean the milk tank but cool feature.
I also appreciate the size of not only the water tank, but also the bean hopper AND the bean disposal bin.
One minor complaint (and yes, it is minor) is I wish it had a small storage area for the water steamer thingy, the descaler and the scoop. On the other hand, it does come with a small bag of coffee so if you don't have them, you can go ahead and make your first few drinks if you forget beans.
End of the day, great choice if you have the means and enjoy a great cup!

Once set up, I felt like a Barista

Ok to start off, this machine is for the coffee lover. Plain and simple. I usually make my own cup of joe but with the De'Longhi, I feel like I want to charge my friends who come over $5 a cup. I have never had experience with a coffee machine of this caliber and man did I ALMOST enjoy every second of it. More on that later.
In the box is the machine, paperwork, and many individually wrapped items including a water test kit, coffee beans and other accessories.
Setup was not a simple task nor enjoyable. I should knock off a star here, but the end result is just too good. Now by all means, I am not a simpleton or someone who can't figure out stuff, but both the Quick Start Guide and the regular Instruction Book needs to be revised BAD. For instance, I opened the quick start guide to get a general feel of what I was throwing myself into. There were like 6 pictures in total. Step one, remove plastic and stickers then step 2 was all of a sudden add water and brew. I stared at the book for a solid 5 minutes while holding at least 4 parts in my hand wondering what in the world I do with these. Well no problem right? Let's look at the bigger and thicker Instructions Manual. Boy was I ever wrong. Instead of, you know, words, there were many more pictures drawn by my 6 year nephew directing at what to do. There is a picture that I assumed was the filter being drawn like it was pointed away from you, with left and right arrows on both sides of it near a drawing of a faucet and a 0,5L (yes a comma) all in one square. Like what? The filter sure couldn't hold .5 L of water. Was I supposed to run in under .5L of water? Shake it? Dip it? Literally nothing was in there to explain anything. Ok bad part rant over.
Performance was top notch. It felt like a sin to throw away the 1st 3-4 cups of the heavenly beverage of the gods. But alas it was a new machine and must be done. You can use both ground or whole coffee beans in the machine, but come on, it has a sweet 13 setting grinder so of course you should use whole beans. You can also select the strength of whatever you decide to drink, Mild, Medium or Strong. I didn't try the flavor it came with but will soon as I use my own blend. At the touch of a button, you can make a solid cup of coffee or expresso. It was fun to experiment and I was hyped on so much caffeine. The hot water spigot is super easy to remove and replace with the frother and worked perfectly. It gave me so much confidence I felt like I could go toe to toe with a real barista.
The water tank is easy to remove and clean. Comes with a descaler solution for easy clean up and the removable water filter comes out with ease to clean or replace. Use the test strips to make sure the water is the best it can be to make the flavor of the coffee even better!
Though most of the machine is plastic, it is built like a champ and gives off a very premium vibe and feel. This machine is heavy at around 21lbs if I recall correctly so make sure you put it where you want it. Overall, putting the poorly written (if you can call it that) instructions aside, this De'Longhi is the real deal. All your caffeine cravings will be more than satisfied with this and I would recommend to all coffee lovers and drinkers alike.

Coffee house on your kitchen counter

The Delonghi Magnifica Evo is a mouthful of words for a coffee machine that will change your life. There is no mistaking its Italian heritage; it's a beautiful black and chrome coffee house machine that will have people oohing and aahing. It is more likened to being the star attraction at a fancy gallery than at your home on the kitchen counter. … It's that gorgeous.
Unboxing this machine is a two-person job, but once you get the well-packed double cardboard layered machine unboxed and take off the plastic wrap, you are in for a treat. The box includes all the important accessories, a milk storage container, a ground coffee scoop, a water filter, a descaler solution, and a 100g of sample espresso coffee to get you started. The quick start guide will quickly acquaint you with the buttons, containers and accessories. But you have to spend some time with the pictogram-heavy operating manual. The setup is kind of nuts, given the complex machine. After carefully washing all the accessories and drying them off, I dove into the quick start guide and the manual. I wish the operating manual had more information in words vs pictograms, but eventually, we figured out things by trial and error.
Using the machine for the first time requires you to prime the system and purge the first few runs. I pulled three espresso shots, ran the hot water, and purged the system. The initial startup is necessary anytime your machine has sat for more than 3 days. After the initial start-up runs, we ran a few shots of espresso; these were well-pulled, with a nice creamy head. We then connected the milk tray and made a Macchiato and Cappuccino, as well as some straight coffee.
For most Americans, coffee at home can be described as; The Classic filter, where hot water is poured over with ground coffee so that the resultant liquor is a mixture of coffee and hot water (as the Italians call it “Americano”), the disposable pod coffee makers, and lastly the variety of ‘Italian-esq’ cafe options available at your local high street coffee shops with Italian sounding names for sizes. Using this Delonghi Magnifica Evo does provide a true Italian coffee bar-like experience with the convenience of not having to run out for coffee on a Sunday morning.
For those of us who love our coffee, this machine is a godsend. I spent the last few days playing around with the various options. This machine is fully automated, and while it does allow some customisation, it is the ‘easier’ option for the general public, with the one-touch convenience from grind to extraction. DeLonghi also makes an espresso machine that is more akin to a coffee house barista machine that allows more manual control for those coffee lovers who want more control in their espresso shot. The machine is easy to use, and the time taken to extract an espresso shot or make a cafe drink is rather quick. The water boil time is excellent, and the experience is worth every cup of coffee.
The coffee made by this machine is delicious. I found myself having more cups of coffee than I normally do. Now, like most Americans, we tend to drink larger diluted cups of coffee. Espresso is something that is never really something we are used to. I have to say; this machine does make a lovely espresso shot, full of flavor, a good creamy head and none of the bite. When you make a milk-based Macchiato or a Cappuccino the amount of espresso and milk is well tempered, and the resultant coffee drink is very smooth. Making coffee-con-Leche, or coffee with milk, using the coffee function is excellent. My only complaint I can think of is that I wish it could make hotter coffee. There are settings in advanced programming, and I haven't yet explored those settings.
Cleaning up the machine may be the most tedious part of the experience. If you use the milk container, you will need to remove it and wash it out, as fresh milk will go bad if it sits in there all day for your next coffee pour. Thankfully it is rather simple to rinse out the drip tray, water containers, and milk storage. You have to do this regularly to make sure you are not introducing anything into your machine. Regularly you would have to descale the unit and follow the guidelines for cleaning the machine. This is probably the most complex part of living with this machine since this has to be done regularly. The machine comes with a hardness test strip to test your water and compensate for hard water, but because I know I have a filter for my drinking water spigot (from where I fill my coffee pot), I left the settings in the default factory. I did not have to run the test strip, as I know what my water looks like. You still would need to descale it regularly to keep the heating elements at top working conditions.
If you love the idea of having an Italian coffee-house coffee at a touch of a button, this is the machine for you. The machine is beautiful, makes delicious coffee and is extremely easy to use. Apart from the cleanup requirements post-use, this is the perfect machine for those coffee aficionados.

A convenient full-automatic espresso machine

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Experience. I have owned many espresso machines, from manual to full-auto, and everything in between. Coffee is a passion, and we brew a lot of coffee in our house. Unfortunately, this also means that my coffee expectations are very high.
Verdict. Assessing the quality of drinks objectively, the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo machine produces decent espressos and coffee milk drinks. It certainly doesn’t quite compare to manual espresso machines and dedicated grinders in drink quality, but it does well within the full-automatic coffee machine category. The ability to use fresh whole beans or ground coffee with this machine is fantastic, which elevates this machine well above all pod machines. It’s a machine we are enjoying a lot because it produces good drinks without the complexity of manual machines, it’s fast to use, and it’s easy to move around.
Initial impressions. The machine is a bit heavy, but still pretty easy to move. There is a space on each side of the machine to easily hold it when carrying the machine to a different location. Included with the machine are a small bag of beans, a very nice quick-start manual, a specs manual, a water spout, a milk jug / milk frother, a water filter, and water hardness testing strips.
Setup. After washing the reservoir, I filled it and followed the priming instructions from the quick-start guide. This process finished much quicker than I expected. Then, I added fresh whole beans to the hopper, and brewed a few espressos to adjust the flow until it was slow and smooth, and with a beautiful caramel color. By the fourth espresso, I was grinding at the 1.5 setting (close to the max “fine” setting), and I was very happy with the flow and color of the espresso. However, I was surprised by the ratio of dose to yield with the default settings. More on that below. Setting up the milk pitcher was very easy: just open the lid, add milk, close the lid, and connect the pitcher to the espresso machine.
Operating the machine. Using the machine is about as easy as can be. Pour the beans in the hopper, connect the milk pitcher, select a drink, and wait for machine to make it. The machine certainly makes everyday enjoyment of coffee drinks very easy. On the other hand, accessing settings, and selecting functions beyond the drinks on the menu is more tricky. Because there is no screen with a user interface, keeping the manual handy is necessary so you can find the instructions for customizing drinks, cleaning, descaling, troubleshooting, etc.
Espresso brewing quality. First and foremost, if you want quality espresso, you MUST purchase fresh coffee. Fresh coffee is coffee that has a “roasted on” date (not a “use by” date), and you should consume the coffee between 4 days and 20 days from the roasted on date. Also, for this machine, I recommend sticking with medium roast; dark roast will be a bit too oily and the beans will likely stick to the hopper. Light roast is likely to be too hard for the conical burrs and may damage your grinder. I estimate the dose for the light espresso option to be 7g, the medium espresso to be 10g, and the strong espresso to be 13g. During testing, the yield for light and medium settings were 40g, and for the strong espresso 32g. These were all brewed with nice and smooth espresso flow. Just based on ratio, I expected the espressos to be too watery; medium roast ratios are usually 1 to 2, so for 13g of dose for the strong setting, the optimal yield would be around 26g as a baseline, and then adjusted for taste. Upon tasting espressos at each strength settings, I confirmed that the espressos were not strong enough, and lacked body and complexity. However, they were smooth with plenty of crema. I adjusted the espresso setting so that the machine would brew for a shorter time, and my results were much better. While I do not like the default drink settings, the machine can be tweaked to achieve good espresso with traditional ratios.
Milk drinks. While this machine can produce smooth tasting lattes out of the box, I think they can taste much better with some adjustments to the settings to adjust ratios. Of note, lattes from this machine will have very thick (cappuccino-like) foam. Because cappuccinos use less milk, the default setting tastes stronger, bolder, and closer to a traditional drink. The thick foam also helps to get a great cappuccino.
Things I love:
- Easy initial setup and priming, and great instruction booklet with lots of pictures
- Minimal heat-up time; it is operational very quickly after turning on the power
- Adjustable brewing spout can move up or down to accommodate different cup sizes
- The grinder coarse/fine adjuster knob appears to only have 7 settings, but there are additional steps within the 1 through 7 settings. Sure, it doesn’t provide infinite adjustments, but it’s probably enough steps to dial-in good flow for an espresso
- The brew group mechanism is fully removable for easy cleaning
- The removable milk jug is great so that you can store left over milk in the fridge
- The machine self-cleans when turned on and off
- There are sufficient drink options and basic drink customization settings, but not so many that it complicates operations
- The small square opening in the reservoir cover is very convenient to add water without having to move the lid
- The milk pitcher has an angled shape that makes pouring milk very easy, almost like a spout
- I love that the machine allows the user to chose the strength of the espresso, and it actually adjusts the dose; you can see the different in the thickness of the pucks in the pictures
Things I don’t love:
- There is a plastic grid that serves to avoid getting too close to the grinder burrs, I think. I understand the safety feature but I wish it wasn’t there. On days that I don’t use all the beans in the hopper, I can’t remove the left-over beans to keep them in an airlock container to keep them fresh. The hopper cover is not airtight so the beans that are left in the hopper will not be as fresh in the morning
- Part of the appeal of full-automatic machines is simplicity of use. However, along with that comes many limits on dosing and brewing adjustability; that’s ok if you know what to expect
- The cover of the water reservoir only goes on one way, but I couldn’t see any directional markings. The first few times I put the cover on, I put it on the wrong way. Now, I know to check that the grooves line up with the silver frame. It will not be an issue any more… but it was initially a bit confusing
- The milk frother does not have a foam setting, so it looks like the machine will only produce max foam, which works for cappuccinos, but it’s not desirable for lattes
- There is no button to only activate milk frothing. Sometimes when we make hot chocolate for the kids, we froth the milk to make it more fun. It looks like we can’t use this machine to froth milk without selecting a coffee drink first and then having the machine try to grind coffee, brew espresso, and finally froth milk.
Overall, this machine is a great choice if you are looking for a full-automatic espresso machine; it’s easy to use and it brews a variety of coffee and milk drinks pretty well. If you are looking for more control and more traditional drinks, this machine can partially get there with some settings adjustments, but you are probably better off with a manual espresso machine. While we have an external grinder and manual espresso machine at home, we are still enjoying this machine daily for easy afternoon cappuccinos, and to take on road trips so we can enjoy great coffee in hotels and rental properties. We like this machine a lot actually, and we recommend it.

The Delonghi Magnifica Evo had me excited from the minute the box arrived at my door. I’ve been looking for an updated replacement for a competitor’s product and I wanted something nicer than their current line. I’ve always associated the Delonghi brand with great coffee so I figured there was no way the Evo could disappoint.
Thankfully I was completely right! Unboxing and setup is very simple and kudos to Delonghi for having a useful, detailed setup guide in the box. I had the unit up and running within a matter of minutes. Once I brewed out the first few pulls of espresso it was making excellent tasting coffee drinks.
The first feature that had me excited was the ‘over ice’ mode since I drink iced coffee 90% of the time. With the adjustable spouts you’ll find most glasses fit easily under the dispenser. You can choose your strength and off it goes, grinding and brewing and making a pretty awesome iced coffee without melting the ice and watering things down. You also have a chute to add pre-ground coffee for a quick cup as needed.
The milk container allows you to fill up with cow milk or a plant based option and is easy to clean up when you’re done. I like that you can easily keep it in the fridge until you’re ready instead of constantly having to fill a separate container or frother every morning.
All in all I’d say this is an easy to use unit that accomplishes the task at hand - making excellent coffee. Well worth the money.

Coming from De’Longhi the Dinamica Espresso Machine, the Magnifica Evo Coffee & Espresso Machine did not disappoint! Unboxing and getting the Magnifica set up took ~20 minutes. De’Longhi provides useful steps in setting up the Magnifica, so if you aren’t slow like me, it may take you less time. The quality of coffee you get is top notch in terms of flavor and richness, and you can’t get any better by going with other brands. Just as with the Dinamica Espresso, the Magnifica has a separate cartridge for the milk, so any leftover milk can be fridged again for next use. The froth is just perfect and leaves you feeling like you have a personal experienced barista…

1. parts are removable and dishwasher-safe for super easy cleaning and maintainability
2. fast coffee with great quality
3. great froth; the foam is soft and light and lasts until the last sip
4. UI of the controls is very straightforward and simple to use
Cons:
1. there isn’t an easy way to empty out the coffee ground or beans when using different beans for other drinks
Overall, i only have one minor gripe, and it’s related to when you are making different types of coffee. There really isn’t an easy way to remove the beans that are already in the grinder so you can put in a different set of beans. From what i’m aware of, it's more or less you attempting to tilt the machine over to remove the current set of beans :( Wish this process would be a bit easier and required less effort!
Is it expensive? YES! Is it worth it? YES! I highly recommend the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo Coffee & Espresso machine for anyone that wants to have quality coffee at home. It’ll save you many trips from having to go out, but more importantly it’ll have you feeling ready for your day, every day!

The DeLonghi Magnifica Evo, particularly the Espresso Magnifico, has become a valued addition to my kitchen. Having owned various super automatic machines from different manufacturers over the past two decades, I regret not exploring De'Longhi sooner. The coffee produced by this machine stands out with its bold and hotter brew, truly embodying the essence of "espresso" when brewed at maximum strength. In blind taste tests within my household of avid coffee enthusiasts, the Magnifica Evo consistently triumphed over drinks from our other machine.
All the standard features expected in this price category, such as the steaming wand, grinder adjustment, and the ability to use ground coffee, are present. What sets De'Longhi apart is their thoughtful approach to user experience. The water tank conveniently slides forward, the bean container features a removable lid for easy refilling, and the drip trays are designed to maintain the machine's cleanliness. Descaling is a breeze, and the absence of separate "cleaning" and "descaling" operations streamlines maintenance compared to my previous machine.
The machine's footprint aligns with others in its price range, and its silver color with metallic accents seamlessly integrates into most kitchens without drawing excessive attention.
While I express a desire for removable coffee spouts for easy cleaning, I acknowledge that this feature might not be available in this price range, as none of my previous machines included it.
In conclusion, the De'Longhi Magnifica Evo is an excellent choice for those seeking a super automatic espresso machine. It has successfully claimed its place on my kitchen counter, surpassing the performance of my previous machine that served me well for nearly a decade. As of now, I have no complaints, and based on the exceptional beverage quality alone, I wholeheartedly recommend this machine to family and friends.

When I started my own espresso journey, I began with a Delonghi Stilosa espresso machine. Basic with not many controls other than a frother and a knob to control the amount of espresso you want. Plus I had to grind my own coffee.
Now due to the nature of my long work hours and the importance of getting as much sleep as possible, I needed a machine that could do all the work for me. I was willing to pay the price because I was taught as a child that the good things in life are a bit more steep in price. I needed to be able to push a button and get going. I work anywhere between 12 to 16 hours a day. I was spending $7-$14 a day on coffee. Imagine how fast that racks up.
I spent three months studying all sorts of espresso machines; manuals, semi-automatics, and fully automatics. After work I kept watching videos, reading reviews and so much more. My first choice was the Breville Barista Touch which I quickly disliked only because I still had to pull the portafilter in and out. After that was the Phillips 3200 LatteGo which I also disliked because of the screen layout. After that was the Delonghi Dinamica Plus which was unnecessary for me, a bit steep.
Then, the Magnifica Evo showed up. Everything about this machine fascinated me. Not only the simple buttons, but also how easy it is to clean; you basically assist the self-cleaning process. The initial setup process was a bit daunting but I was so excited that I could care less. The manuals were really helpful though. Please make sure you read both the normal manual and the quick start guide!
It has been over 20 days since I bought this machine. First day I drank 8 shots messing with the settings. I made over 20 shots that day. Now I have no count of how many shots but I can promise you this machine has had my friends and family wanting more of what I have been making. It is an addicting machine. It is a workhorse!
The first and most complicated piece you have to figure out for yourself is the grind setting. I have personally set mine at 4.5 for Peet's Espresso Forte and 4 for Starbuck's Blonde Roast. If you have a different roast you like, read the manual on how to tweak the grinder to the proper settings based on your first few tests. Beware however that you will most likely be drinking about 4 shots on this process.
The second piece of advice is set your temperature. I have mine at the medium bean because it is tongue scorching if you add the hot milk as well. Be very careful with your coffee temperature. This baby came hot!
The third piece of advice is to find a very good milk or creamer that everyone in your family will like. Half and Half comes out with a very nice layer of foam. All you have to do is add your syrup. Plus it's very low in sugar compared to regular creamer.
Fourth piece of advice is make sure you have extra descaler on hand. The machine comes with one bottle but you WILL need more. The process is VERY long but this machine does all the work for you. All you do is add water when necessary.
Now onto five pros and five cons of this machine.
1) The first pro is the versatility of drinks. There's a few options but my go to is the cappucino. I love it because it dispenses a shorter amount of milk compared to the Latte Machiatto. Of course you have your expresso and over ice options. One option that will shock you is the coffee option. This baby here made me the best blonde roast drip coffee I have ever had. The over ice option is fantastic as well!
2) The second pro is the ease of use. My parents are well over their 60's and can use this. The simple button taps are what make this machine easy. I can really appreciate that since I'm not home and they always want the coffee I make.
3) The third pro is the ease of cleaning. The LatteCrema system, the infuser, the drip tray, and my favorite part are the coffee grounds. I love how the machine shapes them into circles!
4) The fourth pro is the grinded coffee option. If you have your own grind, you can use one spoonful with the provided spoon and make it! I have tried Cafe Bustelo, Cafe La Llave, and a few others out of this machine and they're fantastic! It is nice if you do not want to dispose of your perfectly grinded coffee like I had with my old grinder.
5) The fifth and last pro is the savings. 20 days minus the $14 a day is a lot of money for one person. That does not include my mom, my dad, my sister, my cousin, my aunt, my best friend and his brother, my other friend, and anyone else who I lost track that has tried it! This machine is the best $899 you will never regret spending.
1) The first con is the lack of control with the LatteCrema that bugs me. Of course I'm not one to complain since I wasn't part of development but having at least the temperature control with this baby would have been a blast. The milk comes out so hot I have to add a bit of cold milk to help my tongue out.
2) The second con is the water collection on the drip tray. I have a cup underneath the water and coffee dispenser yet find absurd amounts of water on the drip tray. I have no idea how that happens or what but it is annoying.
3) The lack of a milk option. Yes, just a milk option. I know I can stop the milk and the espresso whenever I want, however this machine grinds the coffee before dispensing the milk so I would be wasting coffee to dispense hot milk only. This option would be nice especially because hot milk at night and a cookie hits differently.
4) The fourth con is the cappucino and latte Machiatto option. Not a big one but the double shot option on these two would have been a nice plus for someone like me who drinks 8-10 shots a day.
5) Fifth and final is I can't think of another. I really can't. Other than the last 4 the fifth will probably come in the long run!
To finish this off, I have a fresh bag of single-origin coffee beans from Peacock Coffee Roasters that has been degassing for the past 9 days. The scent is all over my room and I'm absolutely stoked to try it on this machine. I have four other bags I bought from coffee shops in Boise Idaho that I am also excited to run through. Try different beans, different milk options and make yourself new recipes! I made myself a copycat of the Iced Maple Latte from Peet's and I nearly cried, it tastes exactly the same way it did when I flew out of Sacramento.
Buy this machine. If you have been thinking about it for a while, I promise you won't regret it. It is one of the most underestimated pieces of home gear people don't realize they sometimes need an upgrade on. I hate Keurig because of their crappy quality now and anything with capsules will never reach the taste quality of a freshly grounded bean. Thank you Delonghi for such a magnificent (ha!) product that has made my life so much better! I cannot wait to add another machine to the family!
