Really love this air fryer. First time I ever cooked chicken with pineapple and the kids loved it. The recipe is found in the enclosed book. For this recipe, was simple to cook: Set the chicken with spices for 12 minutes, add pineapple with additional ingredients for 3 minutes, last ingredients for additional 3 minutes, and add cook beans or another vegetable as desired (not on recipe book). Serve with rice or other desired side. Very fast and simple to make a quick meal for 5-6 people. I got the bigger size model since I have a big family. The BEST PART that only a bit of oil was required for cooking. My kids and wife loved it. I also tried cooking a ricotta cake and it was simple to do; it tasted like a scone cookie. The included book comes with a few more recipes. You can find more recipes online and even YouTube. Cleaning is not hard to do with the machine; just remove the inner pot and wash with a soft sponge. Don’t use a harsh scrub, you will damage the non-stick coating of the pan. Two of the bottom feet has suctioning cups designed to prevent the machine moving when opening or closing the door. The noise level is moderate, NOT loud as a blender; this does not bother me because feel great I am cooking healthier meals with less oil. My family really loves this multi fryer/cooker because it actually makes meals for us. Most importantly, my wife loves it. Happy wife, happy life!

We've been wanting an Air Fryer for a while now but never got around to getting one. We've never owned a deep fryer, just because of the massive amounts of oil it takes and the fact that it is so unhealthy. When I seen this, I decided it was time to see what all the rage was about.
The retail box is standard packaging fare. Nothing too special or fancy. It includes the unit, wrapped in plastic and secured by Styrofoam. Included is a VERY small measuring cup, perfect for no more oil than it uses, instruction manual and a hard-bound cookbook. When I seen the cookbook, I was immediately impressed...WOW, I had said to myself. They actually give you a REAL cookbook? Then I opened it. Only 1/4 of it is recipes. In English. The other 3/4 are the same recipes, just in 3 other languages.
Outside of the recipe book, there is a recipe app. I only installed it and flipped through it for a few minutes. It looked very basic, similar to the manual that came with the fryer. Also, the app hasn't been updated since late 2016 and still hadn't been formatted to fit the larger Plus sized iPhone screens.
Now, aside from my minor niggles with the recipe book and app, everything else is GREAT! I love the device. Yes, it is huge, but that is a plus because you can use around 3+ lb of potatoes and other things. Initial use was a breeze. Just wash the top plastic view-cover, the inside container and the paddle. Everything goes back into place nicely. Cord is of an O.K. length...about average. Overall, I can't find very much to complain about with the overall design. Plus, its not an eyesore either, so that helps!
First time cooking, I wanted to go with something super easy and familiar. Chicken nuggets (because we have an 8-year old, lol) and Arby's frozen fries. We did the nuggets first and I have to say, for frozen nuggets and the way the aroma filled the house as they cooked...they seriously tasted like we brought them home from a fast food place. The same goes for the fries. They were nice and crispy and tasted like we just got them from Arby's! Neither the nuggets or the fries required adding extra oil, but we used the paddle on both to keep them "stirred" while they cooked, for evenness.
The cooking times for the machine itself is about on par with the bag cooking times. It's just a matter of referencing the manual for the specific food type you are making to determine 3 things. A) If it requires adding oil or not. B) If it requires activating the bottom heating element. C) If it requires use of the paddle. These all vary from one food type to another and if it's frozen or fresh. I can see this being pretty easy to get used to and learn/memorize. Also, there is an included timer that is also removable. This is the only thing about the unit that just felt "cheap" to me. I used the timer on either the stove or my Watch, since this timer is so small and near impossible to hear.
The only complaint I have with the unit itself is that the plastic vent cover on top gets EXTREMELY hot while using. Seriously, touching it will burn you. The sides of the unit itself get hot, but not as hot as the top cover. Just make sure any unsupervised children are not around while using this. Also, it does make a bit of noise while it cooks. It sounds to me very similar to that of an exhaust on a stove range. You get used to it pretty quickly. However, the aroma of the food that fills the air makes every bit of it worth it, including the finished item. Oh, and not only is this a multi-fryer, it's a multi-cooker as well!
Overall, we love, love, love this item. Very easy to clean and the finished product is great. It will just take some experimenting to get the cooking times right for amounts less than the manual uses. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the market for an Air Fryer and especially to anyone who wants to eat fried food, just with less oil. :-)

Great air frier for small apartments

Great air frier for small apartments
Before I review this frier I need to clarify that I live in a small apartment that has a tiny kitchen open to the living room, and it was always impossible to deep fry anything. When we wanted to have french fries we used to oven cook frozen potatoes in the oven and they always came out either under cooked or dry and burnt.
I also have a very bad experience with different types of cheaper air friers which never did the job right.
Here is my experience with the De’Longhi MultiFry FH1363:
Packaging was very good, Instructions were super easy, and cleaning is even easier.
I followed the instructions and cleaned the 2 detachable parts (part of the cover and the frying pan itself) with water and normal dishwashing solution, I dried them using a dry paper towel and attached them back.
The instruction manual was very clear, the package also included a very fancy and easy to follow recipe book for 25 different recipes with less than a 100 words for how to create a good recipe accompanied with pictures (this book is very good for creating easy and delicious recipes even for the laziest of people).
The frier have a bottom and an upper heater for better cooking and instructions for all recipes are clear on when to use one or both and for how long.
The frier also have a battery powered detachable timer that can be used to remind you to check on or turn off the frier (the timer will not turn the frier off when the time is passed).
So i tried to fry a bag of frozen potatoes, and as it turns out, frozen potatoes do not even need a spoon of oil. I dumped the bag in the frier with the paddle installed, turned both the upper and lower heaters on and set the timer for 25 minutes as instructed by the manual and the cook book.
The paddle started rotating 4 minutes after the machine was turned on and in 15 minutes i was able to see that the fries are turning golden, I opened the frier lid while it was on (you can do that) and added some salt, and closed the lid again. After 25 minutes, the timer started ringing so I turned off the frier, pulled the pan lever up and opened the lid and the fries were golden and crunchy and delicious with the least amount of effort.
I waited until the frier cooled a bit and detached the lid and the pan and cleaned them with water and soap put them back in place and unplugged the frier.
This was a very pleasant effortless experience.
Final notes:
The frier did not made any noises and there was almost no frying smell at all beside the delicious smell of fresh fried potatoes.
Although most of the body is made of plastic, but the machine seems very sturdy and I hope it will last as long as I hoped. (The machine is made in China).
The only flow I can think of is the price, although this is a great addition to our kitchen from a very trusted name but it shouldn’t be more than $150 to get all 5 stars from me.
I totally recommend the frier to anyone with a small kitchen and no way to fry indoors.

DeLonghi Multi-Cooker

This Delonghi is a very functional cross between a convection toaster oven, an air fryer, and a slow cooker. Once I familiarized myself with the parts and buttons and got it cleaned up, I started a beef stew. I wasn't sure how all the parts of the stew would cook so I began using the method described in a recipe on the DeLonghi website. I added some cut up vegetables and a glug of oil, closed the lid, then turned it on. There are two sources of heat - the lower element and the upper element which moves through food convection-style. The paddle begins to stir a few minutes into the cook and moves gently through the food. After about 10 minutes the veg started to look a bit browned so I added the dredged and seasoned stew meat and some hot water, lowered the cooking temperature using the dial on the top, and set the timer for 30 minutes. I didn't add everything I usually do in case it didn't turn out and was wasted, but it turned out pretty good!
To me, there were 3 ways to do a beef stew. One - in the big oven in a large pot, low and slow. Two - in a run-of-the-mill slow cooker which (for me) either cooks too slowly or boils the meat. Three - on the top of the stove. The stove and oven are impractical in the heat of summer and I don't like to leave a slow cooker on all day. This cooker does the gentle cook without heating the house. Ideally, I'd always have a really tender cut of meat to begin with so if something needs a long slow braise, then this might not be the right thing, but the convenience and capacity is wonderful.
I also prepared some frozen french fries and they turned out as expected - if you cook these things too long in a convection oven or at a too low temperature they get rubbery and it takes a little practice to get it right. I have an Oyama Turbo countertop oven (which I love) with top-heat and fan so this is familiar. Some things I can't make in the Oyama but am going to try in the DeLonghi are a frittata and a coffee cake.
For reference, the pan holds 146+ fluid ounces but isn't made to handle that - there is a maximum volume of food and liquid you can safely add. The pan is ceramic-coated and scratch resistant so I'd recommend wood and plastic utensils because these pans are expensive to replace. The fan is pretty loud, but as far as I know, they all are.
Pros: the convenience of a slow cooker but with a lightweight cooking pan, a wider cooking temperature range and a built-in stirring mechanism
doesn't heat up the house
quick cooking
solid build quality
very good instruction manual
easy to take apart for cleaning
Cons: the paddle is really hard to remove
for a countertop device it has a really big footprint
I wish there were a temperature gauge instead of cooking levels
no indicator light to show that the lower heating element is switched on
the timer does not turn off the unit
adjusting the timer is very awkward - I have to stoop down to look straight on to see the display

Great all around air fryer

We have 2 other air fryers to compare this to, an Actifry and a Della branded one.
First the De'Longhi is the middle of the group size wise, the Della is really big, almost too big as it take up a lot of counter space, but does hold more and can handle a large chicken pretty easily. The Della though doesn’t have a stirring paddle but uses a rotisserie and has a basket for putting things in that need to be turned often, unfortunately that’s only good for a few things and nothing that has liquid in it. The De'Longhi fortunately isn’t much smaller and the paddle in it can be removed for larger items.
The one thing the De'Longhi has over the other two is it has a bottom heating element which works great, and now our biscuits and rolls can brown on the bottom, where with the Della you had to flip baked goods over for a couple minutes at the end to get the bottom browned good.
Our favorite thing to cook in the Actifry is what I call “Steak Tips”, it’s just cubed up stew meat purchased at any grocery store. I marinade it in a teriyaki sauce for a good hour and then put that in the Actifry with a table spoon of olive oil and half a large onion sliced up. We haven’t had steak any other way in a couple years it comes out so good. The De'Longhi replicates that perfectly, but with the bottom and top heating elements going it cooks up faster in the De'Longhi, plus you can make a larger batch in the De'Longhi, “maybe bad “. With the Della we had to use the rotisserie and the skewer attachment which is a lot more work than just tossing it in the pan and turning on.
The Actifry has only one heat setting, that’s it, both the De'Longhi and Della have adjustable heat, the Della being digital and the De'Longhi being a control wheel, with the Della having a digital readout and mainly preset settings, you can’t fine tune like the De'Longhi which I am finding I like better. I really like the removable timer on the De'Longhi, you can take it with you to another room so you won’t miss turning the unit off. Neither the Actifry nor the De'Longhi turn off when the timer goes off only the Della does that, so you have to be mindful of what’s cooking
.
We’ve only cooked a couple things with the De'Longhi but from what I can see it will be a more versatile appliance in the end over the Actifry and the Della, the addition of the bottom heating element makes it work just that much better. I do wish the De'Longhi would come with a rack insert that way you could clear the nub for the stirring paddle and you could bake more items easier. Cleanup is about the same between the three, all of them have removable cooking pans, only on the Della you cannot remove the top, but its interior liner is glass so it wipes down very easily. I think you will be impressed and happy with the De'Longhi if you decide to pick one up.

Flexible Multifryer!

The DeLonghi - MultiFry 1.8-Quart Multi Cooker is a new Air fryer and cooker packed with features. I received this for review and was excited to try it. Setup is easy and straight forward. I tried the Sesamie Ginger Salmon recipe, it was easy to do and delicious. The MultiFry is a true Multicooker, not just an air fryer. It can fry, roast and broil effortlessly. You don’t have to think about any other device & methods. This is a great addition to any kitchen.
The Cooker:
The bowl is of ceramic material which has a non-scratch coating. It is very easy to clean. The mixing paddle has a metal arm and paddle made of plastic. The timer is just to indicate the time and the heating/cooking process does not stop automatically.
The Surround Cooking System is very effective heating technology. The ability to control upper and lower heating elements give the flexibility of consistent and quick heating with the ability to use one or both heaters.
BPA-free lid transparent lid allows you to monitor what’s cooking. You don’t have to open it up like other air fryers/cookers to know how your food is cooking. Since the lids are removable or detachable and you can manually configure the appliance as needed.
The MultiFry comes with a recipe book an an app is available for more. With the Flexible heating and the removable stirring paddle your creativity is the only limit for what recipes you can invent.
Cooking uses no oil or as little as one teaspoon in most cases. You can prepare fried foods with much less fat than traditional methods and still achieve delicious results. You do not need to stir continuously when frying or roasting. The mixing paddle automatically and mixes the food eliminating the need to stir! The paddle will start stirring after a few minutes after cooking commences.
The MultiFry is moderately sized, about the same size as a crock pot. It is easy to move around and carry. Most Kitchens have a limited counter and storage space, because of its compactness it is right at home in almost any layout.
The device hosts a 4-level heating technology. The temperature varies between 300 degrees to 370 degrees between level 1 to level 4. Although DeLonghi does not specify the temperatures here is a guide for approximate temperature levels so you can convert recipes for their appliance: Level 1- 300 degrees, Level 2- 340 degrees, Level 3- 360 degrees and Level 4- 370 degrees.
Overall I was very pleased with the way the cooker worked, I wish it had a timer. I will be eating more fried foods now without the worry of additional fat in my diet!
If you are looking for an air fryer and want flexibility to use it as a broiler or roaster at a great price this is the one for you. With the other air fryers you are limited to frying by design.

Delonghi has done a great job designing this MultiFry machine and covers just about everything you need to start experimenting with frying with less oil. The box even includes a cookbook, in English and Spanish, with several options for veggies, potatoes, pastas, meats, and several other delicious looking dishes including pizza which I can't wait to try. So far I have only experimented with vegetables and love the convenience with using much less oil than I normally would. It was fairly simple to set up and start cooking and very easy clean up. The automatic stirring arm comes in handy as it stirs your dish while cooking so it prevents burning and evenly cooks and seasons. It also has a built in timer that you can remove from the machine itself and take with you. There is also a button for simmering prior to putting your ingredients in the pot. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a fryer and prefers the healthier options when cooking because of it's ease of use and clean up, not to add it makes delicious dishes! It is a little bulky for storage, about the size of a crock pot, so make sure you have room to store it before you make the commitment.

This is one of the top ten ranked air fryers and I can see why. I've been trying to be a bit more healthy, making better choices of foods I eat, less fried oily foods. So when it came to wanting to eat certain fried type foods, the air fry was the way to go. Don't expect to get the best fried chicken you've ever had but DO expect to get very close to it with using dramatically less oil. You don't have to used this for only frying. I've used this thing pretty much almost everyday for the past week. Here are my impressions of the DeLonghi MultiFry:
1. Huge cooking space if you're using it to feed more then two people.
2. Fast, it cooked most of my foods a lot faster than similar products.
3. Easy Clean up, it has a non stick surface so, it's easily cleaned.
4. Optional rotating spatula tool for stir-fry type dishes
5. Little to no oil needed
I think it's a great cooking piece for any kitchen. I mostly used it too cook my lunches every morning while I got ready. My foods were cooked in 30 mins. For foods that do not use the rotating spatula, you do have to occasionally flip your food so it can cook evenly. DeLonghi even includes a cook book for you to try out recipes using their MultiFry. I would highly suggest this for any kitchen, especially for single guys like myself :(

Did I say this fryer was big? If you buy it, make sure you have a handy place to store it cause it is pretty heavy and bulky. I think I tried to make it too complicated. It is really quite simple. Just pick the recipe and push the buttons. I made fresh French fries for my first test. At first I thought something was wrong because the paddle doesn't start turning immediately. I realized, by reading the instructions (duh), that it warms up before the paddles begin to turn. The fries bunched up a bit and I didnt open it up to redistribute better and there was a bit of inconsistent cooking. I believe that was my fault. Mostly they browned nicely with just a small amount of oil and tasted very good. There were a few that didn't get thoroughly cooked because of the distribution problem. The second use was frozen fries, no oil, done and evenly cooked in about 20 minutes. Clean up is a breeze. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes. It comes with a hard back cook book and there is an app cookbook also available for download. I like it even if it is big..

Simple to use and a great accessory to add to the kitchen. Open the box to a cookbook, the machine and a small measuring cup.
Beware, after warming for 30 minutes the top and sides of the device did get really hot.
I decided to make roasted potatoes and they turned out great. I used yellow potatoes instead of Yukon potatoes and they still turned out beautifully. In the photo was cooking for 40 minutes.
Would I buy for myself or a family member, sure, this machine is for those type of people that like to use crockpots and other added accessories.

The DeLonghi FH1163 Multifry the Multicooker is a versatile device that does what it is designed to do and does it well. The machine features a mixing paddle the mixes the food as it fries/cooks. As a result, the food comes out very evenly cooked. . As the title of the of product states, this is a multicooker, not just a fryer. You can cook cakes, vegetables and even pizza. It will fry , saute, bake , grill and roast like a high quality convection toaster oven. I cooked some fries and some chicken (separately.) The chicken was juicy and nicely done. The fries took some time to get used of a a proper cooking time but they were good as well. Both took a long time to cook, far longer than traditional frying. Let's take a look at the pros and cons :
Pros -
Versatile Can cook multiple types of foods.
Heavy in a good way – built heavy duty.
Even cooking.
High quality.
Easy to clean and controls are straight forward.
Cons
Huge. The unit is quite large and takes up a lot of counter space. I know it designed to accommodate a large amount of food but for 1 to 2 people, this is gigantic.
Sound. I know frying in general in not quiet but this uses very little oil so the sound is not from the frying but the machine itself. It is the fan and paddle sound, it is just loud.
It took al long time to cook steak fries I made from scratch and fried chicken cutlet took a longer time as well. It was a first try but I had trouble getting it to cook right. I guess I was impatient but it seemed a long time to cook ( about 30 minutes for the fries. )
So the DeLonghi FH1163 Multifry is a well thought out and quality machine . It does what it is supposed to and does it well. The big question is what is the point? Yes, if you are frying foods it use far less oil and makes the food healthier. But why? Are you going to cook fried foods that oftenthat you need a special machine to make it healthier? Or is more likely that you would just prefer to put oil in a pan and cook the traditional frying method. The DeLonghi FH1163 Multifry enables you to cook a variety of foods beyond just frying but then again – do you need a special machine to do that when you have a stove , toaster oven and microwave? For me the answer is no but that is a personal preference. If your existing cooking appliances are less than stellar and you are looking for an all in one package that does cook well, then this might be for you. I am giving this 4 stars but it is hard to recommend because I am not sure I see the point. Again, remember that is a personal preference; the machine itself is good quality and does exactly what it was designed to do.

Good Air Fryer

The DeLonghi Multifry is a nice Air Fryer that cooks food easily without much making a big mess. As far as an Air Fryer goes, it is very simple to use and cooks food quite nicely. It was a bit bigger than I had anticipated, but it was light enough that moving it around was not a problem.
PROS:
The food that is cooked in here is cooked very evenly. Even when loaded with fries, the spinning paddle ensured that all fries got their needed cooking time. On top of that, cleanup was a cinch. You cook the food in a non-stick pot which you can basically rinse the food off with ease. Of course, oil/grease would start building up on the cover, but that is also removable for easy cleaning. Overall, the design was well thought out.
CONS:
This air fryer is loud. Almost as loud as having a vacuum running in the kitchen. Now, this wouldn't be such a big problem if the food cooked in under 5 minutes, but they take 20+ minutes to cook. You can't even watch a show because of how loud it is. The timer that comes with the unit is barely louder than the fryer itself, so you best be paying attention or else you'll overcook your food. The instructions for removing the paddle were very sparse. There are two obvious "handles" at the center, but you'll break your fingers before that paddle comes off. What I figured out much later was that you can lift from the edge of the paddles. I had not done this earlier since I feared it would break it.
Overall, I have no problems recommending this to my friends. As long as you're ok with leaving the same room this fryer is in while it's cooking, the noise shouldn't be too much of a problem. The food that it cooks comes out excellent, but make no mistake. It barely mimics fried food, and is no match for a deep fryer.

The DeLonghi - MultiFry 1.8-Quart Multi Cooker was an item I was excited to try and was hoping to love, but it fell short for me. The design is nice, it looks good, but I wasn't impressed with the overall results of the cooked food in this device.
I waited to write my review until I had sufficient opportunity to work out any bugs from user error, but the results were always the same for me.
PROS
- Nice design and look
- Suction cup feet to hold it in place while cooking
- Healthier cooking option than deep-frying, 1 tablespoon of oil or less
- Provides cook book to help get you started
- Easy clean up
CONS
- Loud!
- Easy to burn the food, questionable cooking times!
- The cook book is very limited and is only a beginners guide at best
- Large footprint on your counter top, may not work for everyone depending on your available space (consider the smaller size unit)
I could go either way on this product. For DeLonghi, they usually hit home runs, in this case, not so much! Due to the price and my experiences, I would not recommend this item.

The DeLonghi - MultiFry 1.8-Quart Multi Cooker is a very simple, but unique kitchen appliance. I have had my fair share of fried food over time and this was something I was dying to try out. As someone that tries to eat healthier, I was hoping this would help me accomplish that while leaving the taste intact on some of the favorites for me, my wife, and our kids. After a few experiments, I think I have an idea on what it's good for and what needs to be improved.
First, the good. I love how easy it is to prep and clean with this. If you have something remotely close to what's in the included recipe book, the guesswork is eliminated. Unless you are doing some major prep work, like cutting up potatoes, this can be a very easy meal preparer much like a slow cooker is for some. Once you have your meal ready, set the power level, turn on the heat, and press start. Set a timer on the stove, the fryer, or your phone and return when it's done. After you are all done, the clean up is pretty easy too. You can remove the inserts and cover to clean them as needed. My wife and I have enjoyed that portion of the show.
Now, the middle road. We had mixed reviews on some of the items that we tried to cook. Our initial voyage was with corn on the cob. We thought it came out well, but it still wasn't like the fresh of the grill that we all love. However, it was easy prep, cooking, and clean-up. On the flip side, we tried to make sweet potato fries. We cut up some fresh potatoes, added oil, and set our time. We felt these didn't turn out any better than what we could do in a toaster over. That's not to say they were awful, but we expected more. Yes, a sweet potato is different than a regular one, but the recipe made it seem like it would be so much better.
Unfortunately, there are a few bads. It is definitely louder than any slow cooker or toaster oven that I have ever used. We have an open floor plan where you can watch TV while doing meal prep. I have a very good sound system that I have to turn up to hear things over the fryer. The next thing is kind of a feature wish as well. While a detachable timer is nice, it would be great if you could set it to control the power like you can with other items. At this point, it's like being by the grill or deep fryer depending on what you are cooking. Yes, there are some items you can start and walk away for a bit, but you better be comfortable with the power setting or you'll take a chance on overcooking your food.
At this point, I wouldn't say it's the best or worst small appliance in the world. I do plan to try to perfect my skills using it and I hope that it will change my mind on some of the negatives that I have come across. I do agree with some that this is super nice for college or apartment living. I think this might something for the lake house or cabin in the woods too. A nice chance to fry something without a ton of prep and oil.

Once you take it out of the box, you can read the instructions and be ready to use in 10 minutes. I made some frozen tater tots. For frozen potatoes you do not need to add any oil and they came out crispy just like you fried them. It comes with a recipe book and a chart to show how much oil and what heat level to set for all kinds of meats, vegetables, etc. The only reason for 4 stars is that the fan is kind of loud. It sounds like I have my exhaust fan running. However, the good points definitely outweigh the annoyance of the noise. So far, we love it and will try out other recipes.

This is the top notch air fryer. 2 burners so you can heat the top and bottom at the same time. Don’t buy the cheap air fryers, buy the best.

Air fried, shrimp, chicken and scallops. Quick, easy and tasted as good as deep fried minus the oil and smell.
