Power is there. Easy configuration from the start. I have the full 5.1 Klipsch reference series and this amp has no problem powering them. No distortion at high volumes. Can really distinguish the surround sound with this receiver.

A long time Denon user, I reviewed listened and compared with other "better level" brands and with pure audiophile esoterics before buying. Sound is solid. Basic setup smooth and easy. I wish it was oriented more to audio then "A/V". Only two digital audio inputs, one from TV, one from CD juke #1, then nothing left. I had issues trying to make large USB drive carrying FLAC files work; A rear USB would be nice for permanent drive connection. Also The USB works only with FAT16/FAT32 formatted USB so large exFAT USB had to be reformatted. Then it failed an external drive even with FAT32 formatting until I found that it had to be MBR file table formatted.(not in list of manual requirements for USB) . I had inquired to Denon and waited 7 days to get response that asked robotically for he same info in the detailed query. then replied basically 'duh, sorry...' but did not advise the MBR requirement. that I discovered using EaseUS partition Manager free software. Another inquiry made because the manual was weak (to prevent damaging the amps) also took over 10 days. Good product, weak support and manual info.

Purchased this reciever for it has a plethora of features. Set up currently with a 3.1 system and this reciever makes movies come alive. Audessy makes set up a breeze. Make sure to have quiet and good microphone placement as I had to do twice, with three kids in the house. This unit does not allow component inputs to be output on hdmi. One thing to consider. All else aside love this avr.

Had a AVR-2805 and loved it. Only reason for purchasing a new one was I needed HDI I/O and the 2805 only had component.
Very, very happy so far.
Running 5.1 speaker setup, and upgraded F/W to get DTS:X.
Expected to see DTS:X but it only shows Neu:X - guess it close enough.
Have to crank the vol a little more to get full freq response from front Speakers (all speakers are high quality Monitor Audio) but that's OK too.
If anyone has a better reason why I don't see DTS:X as option, please tell me.
ALSO didn't get reward points when I purchased this unit even though Sales Person said I would.

Great Reciever for Theater Room

This was my first purchase of a high end receiver and it used in our new theater room. I am using it in a room that is 18 'x 24' and in a 5.2 setup with Definitive Technology speakers. It provides amazing sound for both movies and music, and is simple to setup and adjust to get the specific results I want.

I got this to replace my AVR-X1200W when I got a new HDR TV. That, and I was tired of having to flip cables around to watch a projector instead of the TV. I needed 8 inputs since on the 1200 I had to use my cable provider through the Xbox One and put my two playstation consoles on an A/B switch to fit in just 6 inputs. So this had everything I needed.
First one I ordered had a bad HDMI port. Second one I ordered, they sent me a USED unit, clearly a return since the batteries were already in the remote, nothing was in the bags, even the protective wrap around the unit had been taken off and only partway put back. Third one was finally new, and everything worked.
In between the first and second tries on this, I had an Onkyo 757 that had the same inputs and outputs, but that just didn't last and had issues losing the HDMI signals to the TV or projector.
And that's where I found just how much better the Audyssey speaker adjustments are than the other one that Onkyo uses. It's amazing how that adjustment makes things sound so much better in my oddly shaped open concept great room.
8 inputs - a must for people who have a bunch of different gaming consoles and such. And the two outputs make it easy for me to just hit a button and show something on the projector rather than the TV.
Sound is great. Like most Denon users after the Audyssey adjustment, I boosted the sub a little since Denon always seems to leave it a little underpowered, but that's the only tweak I ever end up doing. Mids and highs are outstanding, even on my smaller 6 Ohm Yamaha 5.1 speakers. Games, movies, everything fills the room with its presence very well.
Most receivers do this now, but I still love being able to rename inputs so that it shows on the front of the unit just what is really playing. The downside is that unless you have a Harmony remote you can program, you're still stuck trying to remember that "Aux1" was the Amazon Fire box and "CD" is the Playstation 4...
I don't do internet radio, but I *do* use airplay a lot since my HP convertible tablet has all my music, so I use iTunes on it to listen through the stereo. Works flawlessly.
The only downside is when doing 4k sources at 60Hz, you don't get the on screen display for volume. Their video processing chips can't handle that until you get up to the more expensive AVR-X3300 or higher line. But it works fine on 30Hz 4k, or any 1080 source.
I picked it up on sale, so it was a steal, and no better option out there. My AVR-X1200W has been flawless and trouble free, so I'm not anticipating any issues with this unit.

I replaced an older 5.2 Denon receiver with this newer 7.2 model. We had upgraded our TV and needed to have a compatible receiver to accommodate its' 4K capability. We were also adding two speakers in another room so as to enjoy playing our music library. Excellent quality with very little learning curve due to previous Denon ownership.

We recently upgraded our theater room and went with this receiver. We have surround sound speakers in the walls and ceiling and this receiver was very easy to set up, and sounds great. We've had Denon components in the past and were happy to see that the quality is as good as ever. Highly recommend this if you are considering it.

We purchased this Denon AVR after waiting for the new models to be available. Best Buy having the unit at a reduced sale price was the trigger for us to bring it home. Our local store didn't have one in stock but they were able to have one in two days for us to pick up. The set-up was easy with the on screen menus and instructions. We also purchased a pair of Atmos speakers to add to our existing 5.1 surround sound. I am using 30 year old Monster Cable Superflex 2 speaker wire that the AVR had difficulty keeping a solid connection to. Once I added banana plugs to the wire for connecting to the AVR all my connection problems are solved. This Denon replaced our 17 year old Denon receiver that was experiencing fuzzy sound. We are both overwhelmed by the sound from the Denon 2300 series AVR. The sound fills our great room with flawless clarity. I can understand the audio on the television programs that used to be unintelligible. This was a great purchase for us. We use the Bluetooth to connect Amazon Alexa as well as our cell phones and tablets. We are happy with the purchase.

I have this to power a 7.1.2 Atmos setup. It's fairly easy to use, however, I wish there was more info on their site about the different settings. I've had to visit online forums instead to learn about the unit. It produces great sound and clear audio, though using audyssey can be a bit confusing and may not get desired results without fiddling.

The Receiver seems to be much advanced then the preceding receiver I own.(NAD 200 Watt). The Styling is more stylish and contemporary, My NAD is more Industrial looking. It Sounds better then the NAD. The powerful moving audio surrounds the room with great sounds. The built in Wifi for network connectivity and 4K upscaling of Video are just right.
