Just upgrading my ten year old receiver. According to the research I've done, it is capable of doing 4K when I upgrade my TV.

I discussed various systems with an agent...the system is just ok, not as powerful as I thought it would be or was told it would be and for the price I paid. However, I did not buy speakers...I am using the speakers I had...that could be part of the problem. My old system had produced much better sound!!!

Works great but it keeps dropping my DVD player, ROKU and Dish Box. For the price it's not worth these problems. Returning it for a Yamaha.

I initially purchased a Yamaha RX-A860, and later found out it could not handle 4 ohm speaker loads(except fronts). So I researched beyond what the salesman led me to believe and traded it for the Denon. OMG what an incredible difference-every function logically laid out, setup very easy, and the audio quality is the equal of much higher priced audiophile gear, with which I have a lot of experience. I am running Acoustat 1+1 electrostatic speakers as fronts, with an Emotiva XPA2-Gen 3 power amp running from the Denon front preouts. Magnepan MMGs as rear channels and Magnepan MMC center channel. My system now sounds fantastic-more detail, clarity and smoothness than I thought possible. The Denon handles everything flawlessly, as well as fantastic video performance thru my Sony Bravia 4K Ultra TV. I can't recommend this unit highly enough-and no real need to spend more on the higher priced alternatives, since when I A/B'd them with the Denon 3300 there was little audible difference. My only complaint-could never find it on sale anywhere and I don't like paying full price for anything. As it turns out though it was worth every penny.

    Amazing AVR

This replaced my Sony STR-DN 1050, which is a great AVR, but it doen't come close to the Denon X3300W. The ease of set up on the Denon is very straight forward and walks you step by step on hooking everything up. Audyssey is simple to run and works great for room correction. The sound on this unit blows me away. I thought my Sony sounded good, and it did, but compared to the X3300W there's no comparison. The Denon creates an amazingly submersive surround field for HT, I am doing a 5.1 set up and it's mind blowing how good it sounds. All the little nuances are heard now, my speakers sound like I always thought they should, clear and crisp. My sub sounds much better and blends better with the other speakers, it sounds tighter, punchier and more articulate, since running Audyssey. I am truly amazed at how much better movies sound now, I had no idea what I had been missing all this time. If you can get one still from a retailer who still has them, don't hesitate.

I have only owned Sony receivers which have been fantastic with great sound quality, so when I made the choice to try out this Denon, I wasn't sure what I would feel or if I would keep it. Once I got it home, I ran the Audessey set up and within a few minutes had it up and running.... It is absolutely amazing! It sounds terrific for both movies and music. The hi-def audio flac option is wonderful and the DTS:X is what I have been looking for in home surround sound for years. Highly recommended product!

This was a huge upgrade over my Onkyo receiver. It was easy to use and setup, and the sound quality blows away any other receiver that I've had! The analog and HDMI scaler is also much better than my TVs, so scaling up the signal of my older consoles looks pretty great as well. I'm glad I took the plunge on this receiver!
