everything about this receiver feels cheap. from the plastic knobs to the plastic remote that felt like it would break if i dropped it on my carpeted floor. never tested the sound i returned it before installation.

I needed a new AV unit to connect to my projector. I had DirectTV, a Chromecast stick, and a new Amazon Firestick I wanted to connect. While the unit had enough HDMI ports, apparently some of them require the signal to be 4K. I was able to connect my TV HDMI cable and the Firestick HDMI plug but I never got the Chromecast HDMI stick to work. Bummer, since I use it when I play guitar to cast play.riffstation.com to the big screen for jam play alongs... No resolution after a month...

Works well for surround sound using the optical output from SUHD tv for cable and netflix. Would rate it higher if it had phono analog input and hd radio.

This is my 4th Denon receiver. It's unfortunate it does not have banana plug support or the ability the rename the inputs. I would say it's just "okay".

As a stereo receiver and surround sound unit, this is pretty nice. However, when I used the HDMI outputs for my Bluray player, Roku, and cable box, the picture was horrible. There was a lot of noise on the screen and clipping. I assumed it was my HDMI cables, so I swapped them out....same result. Not sure if I got a bad receiver or not, but I returned it and bought the Onkyo at the same price point.

Just how are you supposed to hook up a receiver when the manufacturer is too cheap to include a manual inside with your purchased receiver? You have to look up how to hook it up online and print out the manual. I ran into a problem with the receiver being connected to my newly purchased Samsung TV. No way to figure out how to sync the receiver to the TV with sound. I returned the unit to Best Buys.

We read reviews and made the decision to buy this product for our theater room. Had it professionally installed (not by Geek Squad, they wanted to much money.) It worked fine after install. We tried using it again three days later and it turned itself off. The owner's manual says it is in protection mode. Tried all of the troubleshooting that we could find for it in the manual and online, nothing worked. Finally called BB to see if it was covered under a warranty of some type, it was. Took it back to them to be sent in to the manufacturer to be worked on. Guy called to say he had changed out the motherboard on it. Get it back home, hook it up and get the same issue again. BB says bring it back, we will send it in again. Not impressed with this product and will not be buying another Denon product.

I wanted a 4K receiver for my new 4K TV and Xbox 1S; should have spent some more money on something else. Its basic functions word-sound, 4K pass-through, etc.; however, connecting with bluetooth is wonky and the mobile app is terrible.

Bought this new, replaced it the same week with an 1155w Denon upgrade receiver. Limited outputs; not enough "oopmh" to provide vibrant sound output to Polk surround sound speaker system.

I've owned many receivers, from pioneer elite, Onkyo, and yahmah. This is by far the least impressive. Onkyo and Sony have much better sound quality and would suggest Onkyo over all.
