Good while it lasted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this when I bought it. But it lasted less than a year, the HDMI has sound only but no picture. Tried to go to factory reset but that took me back to set up mode but with no picture on my tv I can't. I would expect to get 3 years out of a product before something goes on the blink. Anyhow I have one for sale this model! Only it doesn't work. Hmm maybe donate to goodwill. I will have to switch brands, you only get one chance with me.

2nd unit and still doesnt work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is actually very sad. the sound from this unit is amazing. the cable/satelliute hdmi on ths unit doesnt work, this is my second unit. i had the ]same issue with the 1st one. i called denon support and dicovered the hdmi port had an issue. the second unit does the same thing and had to connect the cable box hdmi directly to the tv. no video and broken audio signal. also, on the second unit the coaxial audio for the cable box doesnt work, had to connect to optical port. thinking of returning this one for a yamaha!

Update Failed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the unit of the box. Installed. Calibrated. All easy and went as expected. Then attempted firmware update. After 30 minutes I get an Update Failed message. Now the unit won't work. It's a brick. Just sits here and says Update Failed. Denon customer support isn't available on the weekend. So here I am with a useless piece of hardware.

AMAZING!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver is perfect. It has so many inputs, actually more than I will ever need. It is perfect for my new Xbox One S. The 4K resolution with the receiver is impeccable. Paired with the speakers and subwoofer that I purchased at the same time amazing.

Superb Performer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The second DENON receiver I have purchased from Best Buy; key point: the internal equalizer is compatible with Bose 901's, thus bypassing that speaker groups bizarre, confusing need for a separate outboard equalizer.

Avoid at all cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was attracted to this product due to the cost and I only needed it as a receiver to consolidate all of my inputs and run one output to a wall-mounted TV...I am not using it for the audio/speaker input except to passthrough to a sonos system. You get what you pay for. This product is a piece of junk. We had it professionally installed/setup and it has already shown it is defective within 10 months of use. It now flashes and resets for no apparent reason while it is being used, which is driving me and my wife crazy. I have completely reset all of the inputs/cables and, after reading similar reviews online, have realized that it is a defective microprocessor inside the receiver. I can't imagine how fast this would have blown had I actually been using half of the capabilities... I did not purchase the protection policy from Best Buy so no help there. They did offer to patch us through to the Denon customer service who would fix it since it had been less than a year. Denon offered to "take a look" if we sent it back to the and then let us know what they could do from there. They could give us zero indication of how long that process would take (this is the main TV in our home that would be out of commission during this)....we asked "could it be days, weeks or months" and she said "I have no idea." The lady in their "customer service" department was completely defensive. Of course they claimed it was our fault and not just a poorly made product. At the end of the day, we will likely throw this piece of junk away and go buy a better quality product from a better brand. I know the cost is attractive for the features but don't let them get you like they got me!

Amplifier Circuit Failed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased and installed the unit 2 months ago. Now it doesn't work. When I power it on, it flashes a green light for a few seconds, then it goes to blinking red at 0.5 second intervals. The diagnostic code for that is "The unit's Amplifier Circuit Failed unplug the unit and contact customer service". If you read the one star reviews on this product, which I should have done, you will see that this receiver has a tendency to just quit working after just a month or two. If I had read those reviews I wouldn't be writing one now. It prompted me to check the internet, and it seems this is a fairly common occurrence. I'll go ahead and get it fixed under warranty, but I will just sell it for what I can get.

DOES NOT PAIR WITH COMCAST X1 REMOTES CORRECTLY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great receiver unfortunately it does not pair with the Comcast remotes correctly, it will only control volume and wont power the receiver on and off with the all power button.. or some codes will allow it to power on and off, but then you cant control the volume... so im not going to settle with a half function system. RETURNED IT.
