This unit is fantastic! I hear sounds in movies that I never heard with my old receiver. You can't go wrong.: Excellent power Great value The 2nd subwoffer output does not significantly improve the bass.

Before making my purchases I had the Geek Squad come and give me an evaluation of my current electronics. I needed to purchase a new TV after the one I had died. Since I would be purchasing a new TV he suggested I upgrade the receiver and DVD player I had as well since I was going to be purchasing a newer SmartTV. I originally purchased a new Yamaha receiver which worked with my existing speakers but unfortunately it didn't work with the new blue ray player so I had to return it. The tech suggested getting a Denon and that works perfectly with the blue ray and the rest of my electronics.

This replaced an older Onkyo that was a pain to set up and adjust. The Denon was basically plug and play. I like the easy speaker surround sound adjustments with one remote button. It adjusts the video resolution when changing channels quick and seamless. Considering the performance, user friendly features and price this one is hard to beat.

Lots of HDMI connections. Sound quality is more than expected.

I have four Denon AVR receivers, I love the simplicity of set up and use of Denon products. My receivers range from this bottom of the range to a $2000 receiver I use in my theater. This little guy is great, set up is easy, sound calibration is aitomatic with the provided microphone. This receiver works great in smaller rooms. I love the blue tooth capability and the USB port. I would buy it again and would revommend it if you want a great 5.1 channel avr receiver.

This is our second one. the first one survived a some bad storms that played havoc with our electricity!!! The receiver is connected to our TV and I love the sound. It sounds so much better than just the plain TV. I feel like I am in the stadiums at football games..the connections are great and music is fantastic..

I had an older receiver that only supported 2 speakers, but had 2 additional speakers I wanted to use. I purchased the Denon to power 4 speakers and provide a theater sound atmosphere. I got it on sale at a great price, and followed the brief printed instructions followed by the excellent "on line" instructions on the TV. Set up was easy except that I could not get the DVD to play. I finally realized that I needed to select DVD/Blu-ray as the proper input instead of Blu-Ray (I find it strange that there are both options on the remote). Since I conquered that hurdle, I have been loving the sound!

I like the receiver and its features. The volume could be better ....u have to turn the volume past 35 to begin to hear it through ur speakers...Good purchase overall!!

We finally replace our Denon surround receiver from the 90s with a more up-to-date version. We have a 4k tv, so it was important to get a receiver that would accommodate that. Works great. Auto-tune microphone sets up the surround to fit your room.

A really nic feature is that if you do not want or need the surround sound on, leave the receiver off and TV signal and sound passes thru. My last receiver would not do that. Sound is great too.

I've had many receivers, surround, Dts, Dolby, 5 ch, 7 ch, etc. They all performed well. Some with better inputs/ outputs. This Denon was simple, 5 ch(all you need, imo) and reasonably priced. No drawbacks. It is hooked up to cable, smart tv, blue ray. Works great. And the Bluetooth is so convenient!!

I just hooked this receiver up and the setup was very simple. I am experiencing static/snow across all components and have ruled out all possible causes except for the receiver. I'm working with Geek Squad to get this resolved but just FYI - may be something you want to ask about when purchasing.

I love the simplicity of this unit. I like nice things, and I tend to get the fanciest versions whenever possible, but for my home theater, I just want a decent sound with a device that's pretty easy to setup and use. The Denon delivers in this respect. It's definitely not the best out there, but it's super capable for the average homeowner who just wants decent surround sound. My only beef with this unit is that it doesn't have banana plugs for the speaker connections...bare-wire pressure-fit only. That being said, I totally recommend this unit if you just want something simple that will do the job well!

Makes my TV sound superior to that coming out of Sony television..tok a while to et it up…still have trouble getting stations set..major drawback doesn't come with manual…need to go online and I know there's about 50 pages…be okay if your computer sitting next to receiver.

Our 20 year old receiver was finally going out and we decided to get a new one. We already had all the speakers but given that it was a 20 year old receiver, it was not equipped with all the new technology like Bluetooth and wireless connectivity. This receiver has all the connections that we need and seems to be working great with our old equipment. It was also very affordable compared to others in its category. So far we are very pleased with our purchase.
