    This system puts you “in” whatever you are listening to. The sound is so good that you hear every note in its purest form. I really love it.

    Terrible service they destroyed the tv. The salesperson was quick to make a sale/ we were looking to upgrade audio.. instead everything became a mess .. we had no decent picture with the Apple TV. Sound restricted when we use apps like netflix etc only can use tv speaker. Doing some research the receiver is not compatible with the receiver, they have shorted out our tv that is 3 years old and will need to replace it

    Not enough ports to plug in the 5 devices I have. I used an in home consultation, they saw my gear and told me this is what I need...horrible. The install service was so bad, I don’t have the strength to go through it again to take this crap back.

    This item arrived missing accessories. The Calibration microphone and sound calibration microphone stand were both missing, and should have been in the same box with the receiver.

    Returned due to issue with Bluetooth connection, which was very difficult to connect 1st time and later became very unstable. Purchased Marantz at little bit higher price.

    RETURNED ITEM FOR REFUND AUDIO FAILED IN TWO DAYS. HOW MANY MORE WORDS TO SAY 2ND DENON I EVER HAD AND THEY BOTH WERE FAILURES, ONE FOR NO AUDIO, AND ONE FOR HDMI FAILURE.

    Supposedly had everything set up by Geek squad and TV keeps coming on all by itself in the middle of the night. TryOmg to get geeks quad back has been a nightmare. Terrible service Two week wait. So not happy

      We're sorry for the poor experience. I'm assuming you calibrated the Audyssey correctly using all the mic positions? That should set levels, crossovers and EQ each channel independently. From there, you can manually tweak any setting to your liking. denon

    Amazing Value

    Able to handle any format, plenty of connection options, powerful sound o my Polk tower speakers. The DTS:X provides full, realistic surround sound with just 3 speaks front left and right and center. It comes with a microphone so the system knows where to send signals to create surround effects. I bought an Onkyo because I thought they were superior products but this Denon blows it away fresh out the box.

    I purchased the Dennon AVR-1600H to replace my outdated Pioneer receiver and am totally satisfied with the results. This unit was easy to set up, works well with my Klipsch speakers and my I-Tunes library (3,00 songs) and is smaller, lighter and more energy efficient than my previous setup! Being able to play my music wirelessly and display album art and info on screen is an added bonus. All in all a positive experience!

    There is definitely a difference between my Denon 950 and this Receiver. Audyssey setup increases the sound quality very well. They can make the interface to a GUI like the 950, as it is not user-friendly.

    Major usability issue and very dated user interfac

    Returned my Yamaha and gave this Denon a tried because the Yamaha sounded a bit too bright for my test. Rather than messing around with the Yamaha EQ I decided to give this Denon a try as it's supposed to have the best auto calibration system out there still. I use a Harmony remote so the ease of access to different functions of the unit is vital. This Denon requires so many button presses to get to each setting. To turn on dynamic range compression you have to go thru layers of menu. Worst of all, the UI looks like it was designed in DOS and runs at 480p. That causes the TV to keep shifting resolution. The front display is also a mess. It has a much lower resolution than the Yamaha and has no scrolling effect for longer titles. I named one of my sources "Chromecast" and it just displays "DD+ Chrom". The Music "restorer" was way less useful than Yamaha's Enhancer, or even Onkyo's Music Optimizer. It also takes substantially longer to switch between different modes (for example toggling on/off Restorer or toggling on off DRC). That's an indication of a slow processor. Sound is OK, a bit better than Onkyo but inferior than Yamaha. I will be returning this thing yet again and go back to Yamaha. When it comes to user interface and experience, Yamaha does it right. Denon needs to hire new UI/UX designers to give their products an overhaul.

    works good if it doesn't break

    Within a couple of days after purchasing and installing by geek squad, the receiver permanently froze in the middle of an auto-update. Geek squad couldn't unfreeze it.
