A: No. It has HDCP 2.3
A: Yes and no. You can use the AVR's All Zone Stereo feature (OPTION button on remote) to output an HDMI audio feed to the patio speakers for Zone 2. However, if you power off the Main Zone, then Zone 2 powers off as well. A workaround would be to just lower the volume for the Main Zone as that will not affect Zone 2.
A: For Smart TV Apps, use the AVR's ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature. To enable this in the AVR, access the GUI and select Video - HDMI Control - On. This should also enable the ARC menu option. From the TV's menu, enable the Samsung's AnyNet+. Just make sure the HDMI cable you're using from the AVR to the Samsung is plugged into the TV's designated ARC input. The AVR will then switch to "TV Audio" source when playing back Apps from the Samsung.
Q: can this receiver run a separate amp. i want to eventually run a 7.2.4 setup
A: The AVRX1600H only has pre outs for zone 2 and subwoofers. Consider the Denon AVRX3700H. The AVRX3700H is a 9.2 receiver that can expand to a 11ch (7.2.4) with the addition of a 2 ch external amp.
A: Sure, any of our AVRs can handle a 6 ohm load. The sub is inconsequential as the AVR is sending only signal to the sub and sub's amp powers that signal.

A: The X1600H and X2700H have a dedicated Zone 2 pre-out, but the X3700H is the first AVR in the lineup to give you a Main Zone pre-out section.
