I have removed all wires from the unit and still the protection circuit engages and turns the receiver off. Only 18 months old and no prior problems. Calling Denon for assistance .

I've had other Dennon receives which honestly have been a pain to setup. so I hesitated on this as I didn't want a super complicated setup. I decided on this receiver because of Atmos and I have been pleasantly surprised as how easy it is to use / setup. The sound is great and fills my theater room with amazing sounds. I agree with other reviewers, it's sorta annoying to have to be in the 50's to get hear anything, but in the low 60's it's quite loud.

I just recently purchased this online at a great deal! Cant say enough about this receiver, Atmos is awesome, cant believe the realistic sound it puts out!! Team it up with a 3D 4K UHD, and why go to the theater. Better picture and sound quality right at home!

Excellent AV receiver Plenty of HDMI inputs Easy to set up with supplied microphone and (cheap) stand nice remote that isn't overly complicated (not an issue with me but with family members) I have this linked with a Sony smart TV and the onscreen controls are great... seamless integration Network setup and integration was seamless (both LAN and Wi-FI, just to make sure both worked) I have my Dish DVR, my blu-ray player, and my Roku 3 all connected directly to the unit, with output to the TV... no issues with video or audio quality. I agree with the person giving the lower review in his assessment of the volume.... I have to set the volume to at least 70 to hear anything out of the speakers (I have a reasonably nice set of Polk Audio 5.1 speakers) which is the reason for my four stars instead of five All in all, I am extremely happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone

I bought this reciver last week without too much reading about it. I had Sony long time ago but this time decided to go with Denon. It has all modern fitches what you possibly needed today. Personally, I like to stream music over the Bluetooth from my phone. Plus, FM radio, Internet radio, not even talking about main job, what it does perfect. The price may be a little bit high but I always buy electronics which cost more and could last longer.

Easy hookup and puts out great sound. A few people who reviewed this unit said the volume had to be turned up very high. If you go to setup, then inputs, then go to source level and turn it up to about 6 then you don't have to turn it up as much anymore, works great. I hope this helps.

Good except for 1 big problem

I like all of the features of this receiver, and I've had several Denons over the years, including the AVR-X2000. In fact I bought the X2200 to simplify the learning curve for me and my family (since we're used to the X2000). However, I've recently switched to U-Verse and encountered one big problem with this unit that I cannot resolve: intermittent/random audio dropouts when watching U-Verse (connection: HDMI from U-Verse to AVR). I've tried swapping cables, and all combinations of Sound Processing options I can think of (Direct/Pure, DD, DD+DS). When it happens, I have to change channels (sometimes more than once) to clear it. I did not have this problem using my old Marantz NR1601. I have not tried the X2000 in this setup yet, but I plan to. I've researched this issue and found others with the same problem with the X2200. One person finally gave up and returned the unit in exchange for a Yamaha A750. I think I am heading in the same direction...
