Customers are saying

Customers highly value the AVR-X2700H's sound quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup process. Many appreciate its powerful performance and consider the price reasonable for the features offered. While some users experienced HDMI connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on the sound and user-friendliness outweighs these concerns. The HEOS app and 8K compatibility are also frequently praised.

Unhappy and happy. Out of box the first issue was that there was NO power cable inside although there is supposed to be one. Then the 2nd issue was the primary reason I bought this, and that was to update the 4K/120hz feature for my gaming PC. After having wasted a few hours fiddling with this feature and it not working I found that it will NOT work as of yet and there is a firmware patch upcoming. This is irritating as it's the primary reason I bought it! On a good note, the sound is far more accurate with surround than my prior Onkyo receiver. It looks like they have no intention to make a new receiver accommodating this market 4K/120hz pass through. If it wasn't for the better surround sound and the prospect of a firmware update I'd be inclined to not has spent the money. I hope this issue is fixed soon.

We're very sorry for the poor experience. The fact that there was no power cable in the box means that the unit you purchased from BB was most likely an open box unit. A factory sealed unit would have all accessories included. Regarding 4K/120 and 8K, most 8K devices will work with the X2700H such as the PS5 and Nvidia's 8K graphics cards. There are a few 8K devices that won't pass 4K/120 through the unit and for that we will have a permanent fix released soon at no cost to you. (It won't be a firmware patch by the way) denon

This is a fine receiver for regular use, but it has come to light that it may not be fully HDMI 2.1 compliant: https://www.avforums.com/news/denon-marantz-and-yamaha-av-receivers-hit-by-hdmi-2-1-bug.18125 In other words, its readiness for next-gen gaming systems is in doubt and its 4K/120hz passthrough appears to be unreliable (unlike TVs that support HDMI 2.1). To make matters worse, my questions, posed directly to Denon, have simply gone unanswered. I sold my previous Denon receiver to upgrade to this model, specifically for its 4K/120 passthrough, so to not even get an answer, almost $900 later, is not an impressive precedent. I would think twice about this one.

This receiver does everything I need and more. I considered the X3700 for it's dual room audio but then realized that this model can do that too; it just can't play separate audio sources in each zone. If you don't need that feature, save the money and enjoy all the other goodness here: plenty of power, 8K support for future, and many streaming options.

Wow! Just, Wow! I recently upgraded to a 77" 4K TV but realized that I didn't have the juice to back it up. The highly knowledgable Geek Squad rep came out and this is what he set me up with. He must have known that I like to feel the power at my hands. With several entertainment systems, the 4k TV and a stereo, I have ease of function and the power to run the table.

Review starts with the ordering process, could not be easier and the process was painless. Product was delivered as expected and on-time. The unit was installed in a home theater room, 133” screen, projector, 7.1 speaker system. Installation and set up was simple, I Audio passed through the unit flawlessly, calibration sounded great. Good power and sound

Overall this is a good home theater unit for the cost. Setup was very easy through the guided on screen menus. It could use an additional HDMI input. Overall sound quality is also good, though my previous Pioneer receiver was slightly more crisp.

I purchased this Denon 2700 AVR to provide eARC for an 65” LG OLED CX TV and this has exceeded my expectations! This model of the Denon AVR at 95 watts per channel is driving a 5.1 B&W speaker system with no issues and the best overall sound I’ve had from the system. The eARC function works very well. Highly recommend.

Amazing receiver! FINALLY replaced my Yamaha Dolby Surround Integrated Amp (what a GREAT unit that has been) to step into the Dolby Digital age... LOL! And, I definitely chose the correct receiver! Love the setup aids. Ignore the criticisms of the GUI; sure, they are not fancy, but they are simple to follow.

easy set up, very limited manual, had to go online for more info. Sounds great, needed minor EQ adjustment. The only complaint is the variable audio out via HDMI - you have to crank the volume level of tv/stereo to hear tv through receiver, makes me a little nervous that I'll forget to turn it down when it switches to tv speakers. The back panel has a great layout, the onscreen menu very easy to navigate. For it's price point, it's exactly what I expected - a quality receiver.

Bought this along with a new TCL R635 4K TV to replace a Denon AVR-2113 that has been working flawlessly for the past nine years. New receiver set up easily and sounds great, only had to work through some HDMI Hand Shaking/CEC/eARC issues.
