This my 4th Denon Receiver and it just gets better every time. Set up was easy and quick. Sound quality is excellent. Features such as Internet Radio and Pandora also gives you another way to listen to music. I bought this receiver as a first step into 4K game. Next step will a TV. Well worth the $. You can't go wrong with it.

Replaced my Harman Kardon system - doesn't miss a beat, more power and options - wifi works well, updates without issues and sounds great. Chose this over a comparable Marantz and Pioneer models as it was a better value.

I bought a refurbished Denon x4000 18 months ago. It was a 2013 model. It has been very solid and is still getting firmware updates. Last week I bought a Samsung 78JS8600 from BestBuy and the x4000 showed its age. The 4000 did not handle Full UHD 4K60 and HDCP 2.2 so I picked up the x4200w which does. The 4200 is the 2015 model and is very similar but with lots of refinements and it has all the latest 4K support. This is my 5th Denon and they just get better all the time. I swapped in the new one in 15 minutes and was up and running. Still need to run Audyssey The 4000 and up series has the most advanced version of Audyssey room correction. It is amazing how it can tame a very difficult room. Much better than what is on the Sony's , Pioneerso and Onkyos. The 2016 model will be out soon with only small updates over the 2015. The Denon receivers are well made and very reliable. I really like the form factor. Comparable units from other brands are too large. Great unit and highly recommended.

This receiver is one of the best I've owned and I've owned a ton. Fantastic sound quality.

The X4200 is not the very top of the Denon line but it is a powerful and fully capable AV receiver. Dolby Atmos is enabled out of the box and the new DTS:X immersive audio is immediately available via a download from Denon. The update took around 40 minutes and it went flawlessly. One note: If possible, try to download any update using a wired internet connection rather than a WiFi connection which tends to be a bit erratic. The overall audio quality is excellent and the advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32 calibration system works very well. If you have a 7.1 or 5.1.2 speaker system, the X4200 can't be beat.

I had to exchange it for another one, just as another user pointed out. It cuts out with larger volume settings during playback. Tried it with a brand new bluray purchased from BBuy, all listening modes (Atmos, Multichannel, etc) produced the same audio "clipping" The Bluray had the Atmos sound track btw More testing with the replacement to see how it will perform. Recommending the unit with a bit of caution I will add tho that to-date, Denon tech support has been pretty good. Some techs a little less knowlegabe, but still very polite

I really like Denon but for this receiver i was a little disappointed in the speaker hook ups on this unit. They are extremely flimsy when hooked up with banana cables. They can't hold the cable so the signal goes in and out. I would expect a little more for something costing that much.

I bought this receiver to complement my Samsung 4k TV (UN55KS9500FXZA) and 4k Blu-ray player (UBD-K8500(. The receiver works faultlessly with the Samsung components.
