All the bells and whistles.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The verdict is still out on this piece. It is a quality product. I have it set up 7.2 with B&W 600 series speakers for main stage and rears and two B&W Satellite speakers for the height/Atmos speakers. Some have said set up is hard it is not. But I replaced this with a 4 year old Denon that performed great. I bought this for a little more power and the Atmos capabilities. I think the price was a little high but this has features beyond what I will ever use. This was an alternative to going up to a Rotel and and processor separates.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exceptional !!! I have the Klipsch RP 5.1.4 setup, and I must say the separation on Atmos is fantastic the sound is very clean. I use the Audyssey MultEQ App I had problems with the app connecting to the 4700 at the beginning, but afterwards the App absolutely gets is done, you have to play with it to achieve the best possible sound.

This receiver is phenomenal!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous receiver was an older Pioneer Elite VSX-74TXVi that wouldn't handle 4K. When I upgraded my TV, that needed to be updated also and after extensive research, this one appeared to tick all my boxes (future-proof with the 8K, 9.2 channel (11.2 if you use an external power amp), multi-zone, and availability). Setup was a piece of cake. Using it revealed some unexpected perks like the HEOS integration and the Web-based menu option. The ability to lock out the front panel completely will be amazing to keep the toddler at bay. I love this thing. If I could, I'd get another one for our upstairs loft. There was something that wasn't working quite right with the ARC setup (my fault) and I called Denon about it. They actually helped me reconfigure my LG TV to work properly with it. Great great great support.

My first Denon
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time owning a Denon after reading all the reviews and research. Versatile and enough power for my needs. Easy setup, remote is OK. Overall happy with my purchase. The only complaint I have right now is that I’m experiencing HDMI HDCP handshake issues a little more than I did on my old Yamaha RX-A780 AVENTAGE. Occasionally I’ve got to power cycle the unit to get it working again because it loses the input signal. Example after watching a movie on my server or even if I'm using skip feature on my TiVo, for whatever reason it's to sensitive, it notices a interruption on the signal feed however minute and immediately goes to a no input signal found. I’ve tried everything to possibly remedy the problem with new certified cables and switching inputs but it happens no matter where I have the inputs set to. I've been seeing this issue on a lot of components not just this one in particular. Even though the makers of AVR equipment claim standardization between component's I don't think they are there yet.

Denon AVR-X4700H Exceptional So Far
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a month ago to replace a Denon AVR-2809CI . Initial set up today. Intermediate configuration with left, right and center speakers, Fire TV, Samsung Blue Ray, tuner, etc., Connected wirelessly to home network. Current TV is a pre E-ARC Samsung smart TV (Series 9000). I am not an audiophile nor particularly knowledgeable regarding home theaters. I found the set up to be intuitive and simple. Calibrating my (simple) speaker system was quick and effective. The unit works flawlessly and is a substantial improvement in performance over my old unit - which I was happy with. All the connected devices worked as advertised and operated immediately as part of the set up process. I look forward to growing into this unit’s technical capability with additional and upgraded (and wireless) speakers and a new E-ARC OLED TV. If there is a nit, a backlit remote would have been a nice touch. As a non- technophobe I found the hardest task in the set up was assembling the cardboard mike stand so connecting this AVR is a task pretty much anyone can successfully undertake. So far an exceptional piece of gear. My last Denon has worked at least 11 years and reliability is not an expected issue.

Well worth the dollars
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the short time I've had this system configured for 7.2 speakers, I do not regret going with Denon over my previous bias for Pioneer Elite systems. Setup was a breeze. Sound quality is superb. Only negative, it does run on the warm side; I had to get AC Infinity fan system to assist in cooling it down.

Great sound little difficult to use and expensive
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As surround sound, this thing is awesome. Previously, I had an all-in-one surround sound system by Samsung that also worked well but it was only with five speakers. I had to replace it because only one speaker was working. I guess from moving too many times. The speaker wire was really thin. But with this one, the wire is thicker, so I expect it to last longer. The reason for the four out of five stars is that the description on the Website stated that you can use it to connect to wireless speakers throughout the house, but I have yet to figure out how to do it. Unfortunately, the Geek Squad didn't know either. I'm trying to search for it on the Internet because the manual doesn't specify - it's only a quick start guide. I will call the Denon. I hope they can help.

Nice AVR, good sound, ALL new formats.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent sound! All the current formats (Atmos, DTS:X, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced). 9.2 amplified channels but pre-outs for 11.2. Dual discrete woofer outputs with the NEW Audyssey Low Frequency Containment feature. The old DAC's provided an excellent SINAD but the newer one's (exact type withheld by Denon) may have compromised that good distortion/noise metric by a couple of points. The prices went up by $500.00 to boot. The MSRP when these were released was $1499.99. I have had no issues with the 4K 120FPS/8K input and my EVGA 3090 and gaming. I can not speak to XBOX or PS5 issues. All in all a competent receiver. I will be returning it however, once the Yamaha A6A is actually available (better DAC's, 4K/8K for ALL inputs, better build quality, higher power output 150W vs. 125W for 2 channel, balanced inputs and outputs for the front L and R channel.)

Good Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid receiver, has every feature you can ask for. Not using it for gaming so HDMI 2.1 isn't that important to me. Only complaint is it's a little on the expensive side and never went on sale like last year's models.

I love this avr
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only get one with the last 5 number in the serial number over 70,000. It will be updated and all bugs fixed. This receiver is great. I have high end speakers and they sound heavenly with movies and any music, even streaming music. I have a turntable and 4k dvd player and playing SACDs through this thing is so amazing. Albums are pretty amazing too. The thing you have to do is use the Audyssey exactly how they say and getting the app for $20 will be the best $20 you will spend here. I had a Yamaha rx-v2700 which I thought was the best but the Denon blows the yammi away and the yammi had more watts. Whatever speakers you have this avr will make them better. I didn't want to spend this much but it is well worth it.

Perfect for 5.1.4
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing. Was the perfect receiver for running my Sonance 5.2.4 ATMOS setup. Plenty power as this receiver is 125wtts per channel. Setup was quick and easy as well Highly recommend if running more than 5 speakers total.

Products great, customer service outstanding!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product is great, but my reason for filling out this survey is purely to convey the outstanding customer service provided by the In-home sales manager & installers. Matt Kelly (In-home sales manager), & Chris, Connor, Cardell, & Yadi (installers), were phenemonal! They were polite, efficient, accommodating, quick, knowledgeable, & friendly. They took pride in their work, a rare quality to find in recent times, & made sure that we, the customer, were completely satisfied & comfortable using the products, before leaving. More important then rating the quality of the products, is recognizing these individuals for their exceptional customer service. Without them, the products are irrelevant.
